DO NOT RECOMMEND! 10/15/2018

The next time I needed a refill on a different prescription, Dr. Ritter sent in the wrong prescription. When I called to fix the dosage, her staff was rude and condescending, stating that what she sent in is correct. I have been taking this medication for over 10 years and I know what dosage I need. It took several hours of phone tag to finally get the prescription correct. My last interaction with Dr. Ritter's office was an incorrect bill sent on her office's part. They sent my labs to an out of network lab, even though I always have my labs done at an in network lab, resulting in a high out of pocket payment on my part. I have been bounced around from her office to the lab to my insurance to try to get this fixed. I've had nothing but issues with this practice. I will never return. more

Excellent Doctor and person 10/16/2010

Dr. Ritter has been my GYN for over 12 yrs now, she is an excellent doctor. She is so good that I took my daughters for their first GYN appointment and they fell in love with her. They are now adults and remain as her patients. Dr. Ritter is a caring person and she makes you feel very comfortable no matter what you are experiencing. more

Wonderful doctor and amazing woman 3/2/2010

I have been a patient for 10 years and she thorough, kind, and compassionate. Her staff is wonderful and very helpful and supportive. I would recommend her to anyone! more

Great Doctor 12/20/2009

After 3 bad experiences with 2 different GYNs, I had not had an exam in 10 years. I felt at ease with Dr. Ritter from the start. During the exam she told me what she was going to do before she did it, which also helped with my anxiety. She seemed to empathize with my past bad experience and I found her to be very caring and professional. more

Good Dr. 10/24/2009

I have been a patient for almost 10 years and recommend Dr. Ritter. Her staff now is much nicer than they had been just a few years ago too! more

Cancelled Appointment after waiting four months 6/3/2009

I made an appointment with Dr. Ritter four months ago for this Tuesday. They canceled my appointment today and said they couldn't reschedule until the end of August. They did nothing to try and accommodate me so I just canceled. more

Excellent Physician and Wonderful Human Being 4/1/2009

I have been an established patient of hers for 6 years. I have also worked in the medical field--she has an excellent "bedside manner," puts patient care/needs first and develops a genuine rapport with each patient. I feel lucky to be her patient. more

Both my daughter and I have been seeing Carol Ritter for about two years, since my previous gyn retired. We're both very happy with her. You can easily get an appointment if there is a problem. When my daughter's birth control fell off my insurance company's formulary (Aetna sucks!), Dr. Ritter gave her a 12-month supply. Dr. Ritter is direct and easy to understand, even for my daughter. She asks all the right questions, listens to all concerns and leaves no stone unturned when dealing with a problem. I too am dealing with polycystic ovaries and it's nice to have a doc that is both knowledgeable about it and takes it seriously. I highly recommend Dr. Ritter. I want to also say that April, her receptionist, is the best! : ) more

Very good doctor 3/26/2006

I ended up seeing Dr. Ritter when my previous doctor left the area and sold her records to Dr. Ritter. Her manner is easy going yet thorough and I felt comfortable with her right away. She is aware of prescription costs unlike many doctors I've met over the years (we don't have an Rx plan so this is an issue). She takes time to discuss treatment alternatives and I get the feeling that it's important to her that her patients understand their options. Her office is conveniently located at Charles Street and the Beltway, very easy to get to. more

OB/GYN 8/3/2005

I have been seeing Dr. Carol Ritter as my OB/GYN for a little over a year now. While she is not practicing OB at the moment (due to the cost of malpractice insurance) she is a phenomenal GYN. I suffer from polycsytic ovarian syndrome so I have seen her quite a bit over the past two years. She has a wonderful bedside manner, I feel she listens to my concerns and whenever I have called the office to ask a question she has always returned my call back the same day. She also has an extremely friendly office staff--which is not always the case in a doctor's office. Everyone I deal with/talk to is friendly and caring. She cares about what is going on politically in terms of malpractice insurance but you do not feel like politics affects her work or what she does. It's nice to have a doctor who cares about what is going on and cares about you as an individual. more
