The best thing that ever happened to me was to go see Dr.Shoshany in October 2007, 2 weeks before the NYC marathon because of a sudden injury (Overtraining!!!!), he worked magic!!!!! With his laser, and taping, and recommended massages, I ran NYC marathon and felt great. more

Just when I thought my life had made a turn for the worse and there was no place to turn, I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Steven Shoshany. One morning I woke up with severe back pain that was so devastating that I could hardly breathe. I had no place to turn to but the hospital emergency room. Since they could not do anything for me I was discharged and referred to an Orthopaedic and Neuro Surgeon. After MRI's and Ct Scans, Doctors realized I had herniated discs. I received numerous So Called Relief injections, WITH NO RELIEF! My condition grew considerably worse. Life became unbearable. The only option given to me was emergency spinal surgery. Against all odds I took a chance with chiropractic care. While doing my own research I found the Living Well Medical Practice of Dr. Steven Shoshany. Upon my arrival at my first appointment I was greeted by the most friendly and courteous staff. I am a 20 year old male who has played golf on the collegiate level for the past two years. About 8 months ago, I developed pain in my lower back and hip area which soon resulted in unbearable shooting pains in both my legs. It came to the point that the sport that I loved so much became unenjoyable. I was told by the Titleist Performance Institute that my spine rotates anywhere from 175 to 200 degrees each time that I swing and that each swing that I take will cause the spinal disc to lose their integrity. The time then came where I began to weigh all of my options. I consulted the with the university's athletics doctor where I was given cortisone shots, a local sports medicine doctor, an acupuncturist, and even a surgeon. Needless to say, I was still not receiving the results I was looking for. I decided to give Dr. Shoshany a call after hearing one of my professors talk about how his chronic neck pain was no longer affecting him. To my surprise, I was able to get in right away without waiting 2-3 weeks for a consultation. After explaining my situation to Dr. Shoshany, he determined that it would be best for me to receive spinal decompression treatment for my back, hip, and leg issues. I felt slightly better after the first treatment but the true results were evident after about 3-4 weeks of treatment. Pain was no longer an issue and I was back to enjoying golf again. Spinal Decompression was the treatment for me! I wanted nothing to do with surgery and the weekly cortisone shots seemed to only be a temporary fix for an ongoing problem. I was relieved that I was finally able to play pain free but there was one thing still on my mind. What will a treatment like this cost me? Dr. Shoshany was able to work with me on a payment plan which allowed me to afford treatment, even on a college student budget. I could not thank Dr. Shoshany enough for what he has done for me. I went to see Dr. Shoshany with the WORST sciatica...I could barely walk. My MRI showed all the problems and after 5 treatments I can finally walk again. Personally, I don't know what I would do without Dr. Shoshany and his staff. I appreciate all the caring staff and really aprreciate Dr. Shoshany being flexible around my work schedule so that I can continue with treatments. It's unfortunate to read the one negative comment from ""ordinary girl"" she must be an unhappy and negative person to write such an awful review. After being referred to Dr. Shoshany from a co-worker and starting my own treatment with him, I can't imagine someone not being happy with him. I've never been to a chiropractor before and had intense and persistent pain that caused me to go Google some solutions. Dr. Shoshany came up in my search and I was pleased with his website and even more impressed that he personally emailed me back the same day answering some of my questions. I came to the office and was pleasantly surprised at how modern and ""cool"" the atmosphere was. The receptionsists greeted me kindly and the waiting room was spacious. There are multiple rooms that offer various machines to assist in your treatment plan. And didn I mention there's an on-site masseuse?!!! Jackpot! She was wonderful. I have now been a patient of Dr. Shoshany's for over three months. I asked for help and it finally came - in the form of physical therapy and orthodics! I looked around for a local office that practiced the Graston Technique for my chronic plantar faciitis and finally found one - Dr. Shoshany's office. It has helped me with the intense pain in both my legs so much, I am now able to walk and stand for long periods of time again. I am also able to enjoy massages and pedicures! Dr. Shoshany and his team, worked with me and applied special tape to my legs (like the kind on the vollyball players at the Beijing Olympics), I was fitted for my orthodics and I continue my PT. After a fall at my job, my injured discs gave way to widespread Myofascial Pain Syndrome then Fibromyalgia with headaches and migraines. No Chiropractor understood or could help me until I went to Dr. Shoshany. He eliminated the carpel tunnel-type pain in my hand with cold laser in three visits. My spine was realigned with manipulation and cold laser on the trigger points, greatly reducing pain and coordination problems. Finally, cervical decompression eliminated the migraines and daily headaches. To those with Fibro, you need to visit Dr. Shoshany. Trigger points in the neck and shoulders can add to your pain. I can't recommend him enough to those with spinal injuries. If it worked for me with all my problems-then it will work for you. After a very scary MRI and dire verdict from another chiropractor who will remain nameless, I researched spinal decompression. I originally investigated an office in Brooklyn, but despite my interest, they never contacted me with anything but junk mail. Thankfully, Dr. Shoshany, on the other hand, called me the very next morning after I wrote an email inquiry, and spoke with me personally. He was able to get me an appointment the very same day, and I began sessions on the DRX-9000. I have to say that it has transformed my life--I can travel on trains and planes without excruciating pain and have finally started wearing heels again! Thanks to my long day of sitting at work and school, my back was in a lot of pain. Well, not any more. Dr. Shoshany and his staff are absolutely excellent!\r \r I have been to two other chiropractors in the past, and I have been most satisfied with Dr. Shoshany's service, effectiveness, and overall office atmosphere.\r \r I sit at a desk and stare at the computer for 9+ hours a day, so I went to Dr. Shoshany to help me improve my posture and alignment and to get an overall sense of well-being and strength back into my body. Fortunately I have good health insurance and have been able to go to Dr. Sho's office at least once a week. It has undoubtedly had a positive effect on the way I carry my body, being aware of my posture and fixing it, and my mood!\r \r I continue to go to Dr. Shoshany (it's been almost a year now) because he not only adjusts my spine, but he also answers any and all of my questions and gives me suggestions on how to make my time at work more comfortable. He even gave me a seat cushion to help wtih my posture - it's awesome! Beyond adjustments, he has also helped me relieve soreness in my knees (from running) with laser therapy.\r \r He has never pressured me to get any procedures done that I wasn't comfortable with, i.e. I opted not to take an X-Ray (based on my condition, he was okay with this), and at first I did not want my neck adjusted, but I now let Dr. Shoshany do it because he is very skilled and never uses a forceful or heavy hand.\r \r With every adjustment, I also get a 30 minute massage (which is an amazing added benefit included with the adjustment - at least with my insurance). There are also physical therapists on staff as well as a variety of exercise and strengthening machines to help you maintain a better body long-term.\r \r The staff is super-friendly, always willing to accommodate, and they are wonderfully personable. REALLY HAPPY !!!\r I am typically one of those 'complaining needy new yorkers' I expect everything now and don't like to wait. I expect results quick and typically skeptical. WOW was I pleasantly suprised and treated right !\r I went to Dr. Shoshany's office and the staff was friendly, the office was AMAZING, what a nice change, it was big and bright, lots of light, CLEAN...CLEAN...CLEAN . The doc examined me, he had the Xray equipment on site which was nice because I didn't have to leave and go to another place for Xrays. The doc is thorough not just a quick exam, I liked that he wanted to get the whole picture of what was going on with my back and neck. The Xray was digital so he saw the picture and my neck problem right away.\r Of course the Xray was an extra cost but when it comes to my health I want to know everything that is going on...this is not a time to be cheap.\r The doc did his adjustment, which did not hurt by the way, it actually felt good. I spent another 15 or 20 minutes doing some ice and treatment. At the end of the entire treatment I felt great. I really got my money's worth, more than what I got from the Orthopedic surgeon I went too, I went to an Ortho he charged me $275.00 , saw me for 2 minutes and sent me home saying there was nothing wrong with me. The first chiropractor I went to was giving me nothing more than piecemeal adjustments and telling me to lie down with a towel under my neck fro 1 minute a day. He was convenient at only 7 blocks away. But then I looked on the internet, originally to get a second opinion, and found Dr. Shoshany. The adjustments he has given me had almost immediate results and even though it is much further out of the way for me, as I live on the Upper East Side, the quality of treatment and comprehensive nature of the care is so infinitely better that I cannot imagine going anywhere else. With a history of problems due to herniated discs and degenerative arthritis, my back pain recently flared up again. Not wanting to go to the same chiropractor I had last seen about 2 years ago, I searched the web and found Dr. Shoshany. After reading up on his decompression therapy, I made an appt. It was the best decision. This is not your typical ""crack-your-back"" chiropractic treatment. After the first visit, I could feel the difference.
