Dodge City Bar & Grill

This place has a well rounded menu and everything on it is Great! Their 100% ground chuck burgers beat all! The steaks, salads, soups and appetizers are all made and presented very well. The Dodge will surprise you with it's chill country atmosphere (and I'm a Rose City Post-Punk guy), the friendly staff and EXCELLENT food. I'm not a regular of the late night scene at the Dodge, but I have been there for some rowdy nights and they seem to handle the crazy drunks pretty well. All these reviews are bogus. What a bunch of whiny little girls mad because they got drunk and stupid and kicked out. Dodge City is awesome. The bar staff kicks ass, security is cool, as long as you arn't an idiot, and the atmosphere is awesome. Best sound and lights in Vancouver or Portland. By far the coolest bar in Vancouver. I feel bad for this bar. It could have been a great place except the staff phucks it up! I saw the OWNER elbow a girl in the face last night and then kick her out. Chris (the owner) is an arsewhole and needs to be put into place. Just because you own a bar doesn't mean you're GOD. He needs to learn how to treat people and I'm not talking about nazi treatment. SKIP this place and go next door. I wish I could do a negative rating. Pros: There are no pros, absolutely NONE! Cons: Nothing but cons, the owner being the worst! more

I highly recommend finding another bar to frequent. I was there with a group of people doing a promotion event. While setting up the event the date was bumped 2 or 3 times. We were also told everyone with the group would be drinking for free because of our promotion, when we got to the bar, we had to argue with every bouncer before finally getting introduced to the bartender and being told we 'were approved for a $150 bar tab'. That would have been fine for the 5 of us, but after being there for three hours talking to people and doing our jobs, one of the bouncers cut off the two girls who had been helping the most- after only 2 drinks. He gave some lame excuse about how 'it's based on your pupils.. there's someone in the crowd right now.. if I don't I'll be fined...' Complete nonsense. If you like dealing with being cheated, drama, and pushy meathead bouncers, this is your place. We will probably not be promoting there again. Pros: not much Cons: bouncers, drama more

This is the worst want-to-be "Night Club" bar in Vancouver. I paid $5 at the door to a Meat Head Bouncer who was very short with me and my friend and acted as if we were bothering him. He told us it would be well worth our money so reluctantly we paid and went in. I am a Bouncer at another bar and I ca tell you this isn't how you treat patrons let alone lie that it would be worth the $5. Once in this "Hole" of a bar we made a lap around realized that we should have been paid to be there rather than have paid and asked Meat Head for our money back after having been in for less than 5 min of course he wasn't "authorized" to do so. We decided to go in and at least get a drink. If I didnt regret my $5 investment before once I paid $9 for a draft beer and a mixed drink from the Linebacker of a female bartender I came to the conclusion that the $14 I was out thus far would have been better wasted in a ball of fire. This is no jokes folks. It's my birthday today. I just attempted to go to Dodge City to have a drink and a bite to eat. Some clueless security guy heads me off at the door claiming"I showed signs of intoxication." This is the honest to God truth. I'd had not had a single drop of alcohol and was in now way impaired. To prove my point to the idiot I then drove away as a cop car circled the parking lot because I knew darned good and well that I was in no way impaired. I called and left the manager a voice mail stating my obvious displeasure with what had just occurred. I hope they get some properly trained security,instead of wannabe alcohol/drug detection "experts". more

The DJs play awful barn-music mixed-in with bad 90's hip-hop. Feels like a high school basement party in Hicksville, USA circa 1992. ALL of the bouncers treat EVERYONE like they're a 19-year-old trying to sneak in with a fake ID and a weapon. The bartenders and servers were not shy with the alcohol in their mixed drinks, but you have to be pretty wasted to even choke them down. If you're looking for a good singles scene, good luck here. The fact that they even charge cover after 11pm is laughable that anyone would pay to go there (luckily we didn't). Apparently this is "the place to go" in the Couve, which doesn't say much for the area. My advice- stick to the Portland bars. I will never step foot in this place again. Bartender's were rude and the drinks were sh!tty. One bartender seemed "High" and a out of it, not sure he really new what he was doing. Not a place to go if your looking to have a good time... definitly better options out there then this... stay away... stay away.... Trash... Trash... Trash.
