I called for service through my \r AHS warranty and was given this company for not only my home but a call I made today for my mother's home. I have great things to say about this company from the start. They called me within 1 hour of putting in a request. The were extremely full due to the weather conditions today and the ice on the road but when I explained the damage I was experiencing, the dispatcher immediately sent out a plumber within 1 hour. The plumber stayed until the job was done and he was very professional. I would be extremely happy to use this company again. By the way, my mother was staying at my home due to the cold weather and a pipe leak at her home also. When the company realized that they also were assigned her home, they sent another plumber to her home and he completed her job so she could be in the comfort of her home tonight. Great... Great.... wonderful experience from start to finish. more

DNB Services is a dirty company that scams honest people and colludes with thieves like American Home Shield by fabricating lies that allow AHS to get away with warranty coverage. \r \r They did to us what they did to others who have written reviews here by claiming that the air vent in our attic wasn't installed according to code. As a result of their comment, AHS refused to fix the water heater, which is why we placed a work order in the first place. We did not buy DNB's malicious claims and got another company. They said the attic vent was good and conformed to code. AHS of course chooses to believe DNB because they have a vested interest in not covering fixing our water heater. In summary, DNB is owned and run by a bunch of money-hungry dishonest crooks. If you give them business, you're doing so at your own risk. \r \r And by the way, to those of you who have a home warranty, know that you can refuse a com pay that's assigned to you and can request another to handle a work order. more

The pilot light on my 6 year old water heater kept going out so I called one of the largest, well advertized home service companies in Houston. THey sent a tech out who said the only option was to replace the entire unit for about $2,000. He also made several statements about the old unit, like it did not have an anode rod, the thickness of the metal, etc. After he left I did some research and found that he was wrong about each of the comments he made about the existing unit.\r \r I called DnB, who installed the existing unit under an American Home Warranty several years ago. (The warranty is no longer in place)\r \r There were some issues trying to diagnose the problem, but the DnB tech tried the least costly fix first. It did not work, but they were out the very next day and replaced the control unit for under $300. The unit is now working flawlessly again for a fraction of the ""large home service"" company's proposal.\r I can only assume that the dissatisfied DnB customers were either unusual cases, or victims of the interaction with American Home Warranty (which I have experienced as well)\r \r Throughout the process DnB was fast, reliable, very courteous and got the job done at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.\r more

DNB was contacted through American Home Shield to replace our leaking water heater. DNB was reponsive to the issue and the technician did a good job replacing the water heater. HOWEVER, they decided that the flex lines needed to be replaced, although the current lines were not damaged in any way and said the roof vent needed to be 'repaired' because it wasn't to 'code'. We agreed to the extra work thinking they're the experts, HOWEVER, they gouged us severely on the cost. They charged $293.66 to replace (3) lines that cost about $50 total (no extra labor cost as the lines had to be connected anyway) and get on the roof to slide the existing (not new) exhaust sleeve down flush with the roof, literally (5) min. to push the sleeve about (6) inches down the exhaust pipe. Although the job was completed satisfactorily and they were polite, they severely gouged us with the upsell on additional unnecessary items. We were charged a little more than double what would have been a fair price, in addition to what they were collecting from American Home Shield. more

DnB is on the list of plumbers for AMERICAN HOME WARANTEE. We were told by Amer Home Warrantee we would hear from a DnB dispatcher within 3 hrs as we have water dripping from a pipe in the wall causing sheet rock damage. The next morning after 9 am, we had to call DnB, because they did not call us. We were told learn they could not schedule a plumber for 3 or 4 days! Because I shut the water off from the main, it is no longer considered an emergency. I have had better experiences with American Home Warantee in the past - but this is extremely disappointing and the secondary damage caused by the leak is aggravated due to delays. Do not use DnB if you have any other possible choice! more

Good experience with them. Quick response and friendly service so far. I use them for a couple months now back to back for a couple home issues. So far so good. I don't see any of the problems mentioned like others. Hope they keep up with their good service! more

Trustworthy company, good people, great experience. 5/10/2012

Wow...very wary of this company at outset due to all the negative reviews, so much so that I had another plumber visit after my home warranty company sent DNB. His diagnosis was identical and pricing higher. I must admit that I am a true fan now that I've had DNB in my home. Their representative plumbers were all very experienced and courteous and worked with me to fix my ""out of code"" problems in a manner that was affordable, HOA -friendly and esthetically pleasing. Val (office) was very candid and knowledgeable. I would unequivocally recommend DNB to anyone needing a plumber. Thanks Robert, Giovanni and Juan. Nice work. more

Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt 2/29/2012

DNB Plumbing was recently assigned by my home warranty company to come and repair my hot water tank. I looked up the company online and found all these bad reviews and I became very wary of what kind of service I would get. more

better than i expected 2/17/2012

I was nervous about using dnb because of the reviews on here, but that is who my home warranty assigned. I will say that I was not impressed with the dispatchers, but I was very pleased with Juan, the plumber. He was prompt and very courteous. He changed out my garbage disposal quickly and checked to make sure there were no other leaks. more

RE:EVIL PEOPLE 8/15/2011

UNFORTUNATELY, SOMETIMES WE HAVE TO RELEASE EMPLOYEES FROM EMPLOYMENT DUE TO LACK OF PERFORMANCE ISSUES. THIS EMPLOYEE WAS LAZY AND REFUSED TO COMPLETE JOBS. IF THIS EMPLOYEE WAS SO DISTRAUGHT OVER THE KIND OF WORK THAT WAS REQUIRED OF HIM, HE SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED A YEAR AGO. IN THE LAST DAYS OF HIS EMPLOYMENT, I FELT THIS EMPLOYEE HAD SOME ISSUES AND SEEMED PARANOID WHEN WE WOULD QUESTION HIM OF DETAILS OF JOBS. I GAVE HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESIGN INSTEAD OF BEING FIRED. I HAVE MANY EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE WORKED WITH MY COMPANY FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS. I TAKE PRIDE IN BEING RATED TRIPLE AAA WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND TRULY FEEL THAT ANYONE CAN GO ON THE CITY SEARCH SITE AND WRITE NEGATIVES OR POSITIVES ABOUT ANY COMPANY (INCLUDING FIRED EMPLOYEES). I CAN NOT PUT TOO MUCH STOCK IN LETTERS FROM PEOPLE WHO DO NOT IDENTIFY THEMSELVES BY NAME. THIS WAY IT IS ALWAYS ONE SIDED AND THERE IS NO REBUTTAL OR CONSEQUENCES FOR FALSE STATEMENTS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CITYSEARCH POLICY CHANGE. AS YOU CAN SEE, MY CITYSEARCH SIGN IN NAME IS OWNERDNB. THIS IS ONLY DUE TO MY NAME VALERIE IS NOT AVAILABLE. SIGNED, VALERIE AMBROVICH, OWNER DNB more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS! 4/24/2011

DNB came out to address a clogged kitchen drain. Said they use a snake to clear but supposedly ran into root blockage and could not clear. Replaced a worn out disposal but routed the drain line incorrectly and water backed up into the dishwasher. more

Seven Day and counting without water 12/13/2010

Their customer service is horrible. They have kept us without water for seven days, when they finally received the part (i call other places that had them so they were obviously trying to save money) we were last on their list. We have 3 children and this experience has been exhausting. more

Worst Company Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10/20/2010

These people are the worst ever!!!!!! They have ruined my ceiling and damaged the wallls in my new home!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you guys find this useful because this is no joke! more

Wasted My Precious Time!!!! 5/14/2010

I have waiting for two weeks for these people to order a part to fix my vessel sink. How hard is it to pick up the phone and order a part? I found the part at Lowe's on line. Everytime that I called them, they had no recollection of who I was. I kept gettting lost in their lousy customer service. Today, Friday May 14th, I waited all afternoon at my house for them to come and fix my sink (after waiting 2 weeks) and they not only did not show up but again had NOT ORDERED the part and did not have me in their system. They had not scheduled me for that day's repairs. I am angry for having wasted my time with this unprofessional company. They hung me out to dry. They wasted my time. My vessel sink is still broken. I wasn't even on their list. I recommend that you do not waste your time them either. Pros: They at least answered the phone Cons: Made empty promises and then hung me out to dry more

Honest Best Value 1/28/2010

I am the property owner involved in the work referenced under the title ?NOT recommended!?. Plumbers are usually called when there is bad news to start with and folks are already upset. I have been using DNB Plumbing for at least fifteen years because they deliver the best overall value. With DNB not being a large corporation, you get best pricing, with the urgency of your job considered in how fast you get the service man to your job. For me, it has always been worth the wait in order to get the best value for a completed job well done. In the extreme heat of Summer 2009 and having workers fall to heat stroke, DNB Plumbing and I agreed that in order not to jeopardize the workers? health, the heavy manual but technical workload could wait until workable temperatures returned. Plumbers, attic air conditioning technicians, construction workers and roofers all had to schedule their work around the extreme heat of Summer 2009. I recommend and stand behind DNB Plumbing 100% as the honest best value. Pros: Honest Hard Working Cons: Small company but this is not a negative more

completely satisfied 1/27/2010

I am always amazed at the comments you find on city search. I have used this company for 16 years and never had anything but prompt service and professional service. I know that you can't make everybody happy but I am a completely satisfied customer of 16 years. I had to use them during the freeze and again.. they came to my rescue and never even charged additional charges after hours. Pros: kind, professional and works with you on cost Cons: none that I know of more

NOT recommended! 9/24/2009

The plumbers themselves are good and most of them polite, but doing business with this company is guaranteed to raise your bld pressure and add major stress to your life. If having a job start the week of June 22 which includes a trench dug through the yard and then having the workers disappear on June 24 and leave the trench surrounded by caution tape, calling repeatedly and getting excuses until they finally show up with no warning to finish on Sept 23 sounds good to you, give this company a call. They'll throw in rude attitude for no extra charge. Cons: unreliable, terrible customer service more

Never Again 4/16/2009

My home warranty company sent Dnb to my home also for a small leak under the bathroom sink. Dnb had to come 3 xs and made the leak worse the first two times. The 3rd time they shut off the water to my house and fixed the leak (turning several valves, we live on property with a well). The next day my water softner was not working! We tried the normal recharging to no avail We called again and the plumber came out and said the water softner was clogged when they (Dnb) turned the water back on from their job.(there was a bypass valve they should have used, but didn't) Our warranty company would not cover it, and Dnb said they would not do anything about it. Called the softner dealer who sent a technician who confirmed the softner had been damaged by the plumbers negligence, & lack of knowledge about my valves and water softner. IT COST US $374.00 Called Dnb to let them know and was told ""we don't know anything about softners, we don't install softners, we don't touch softners"". "" All our plumbers are licensed"" They would not admit their failure; they said they couldn't touch softners, but had a plumber messing with my softner for at least an hour. They offered no apologies, would not acknowlege that a plumber should know about the plumbing (including softners) they mess with, and made no effort to end up with a happy customer. What ever happened to the customer is right? So besides messing up my softner, it took 3 efforts to repair my small bathroom leak. After asking for intervention by my warranty company Dnb still would not budge or make effort to have my good word of mouth. Pros: Communicated fairly well with regard to appts. Cons: Incompetent and customer is not right or first. more

DNB SERVICES 1/26/2009

DNB was sent to my home by my home warranty service. DNB installed two water heaters and used a defective part. Within a few months the part failed and caused water damage to my home. Despite David Nathaniel Bailey, owner of DNB Services, plumbers license #17999, stating that he ""has continued to keep his customers satisfied"" and has his business 'by word of mouth instead of advertising', DNB has an unsatisfactory rating with the prominent consumer reporting agencies. Although he states he has a 2 year warranty on parts and labor and he has insurance, he and DNB and office manager Valerie will not respond to my certified letter nor numerous phone calls to resolve and reimburse me for funds to repair the damage his business caused to my home (the damage was under $2000). If you compare my request for reimbursement against the business Bailey and DNB have lost and will continue to lose as the facts of my case are relayed to potential customers and the home warranty service, they would have come out financially better if they had just been honest and done the right thing. Yes, Mr. Bailey as you say, ""word of mouth is the greatest ad."" Word of mouth conveys that you and DNB are not a business that anyone should be involved with. Pros: Nothing good about their service or product Cons: They do not stand behind their work and convey falsehoods more
