Honestly. I have a family member on a tour right now, she recieved her documents for a out of country trip only days before leaving . The bus didnt pick her up at the pick up , the women had to load there own bags... as they were getting into someones personal vehicle... not a discovery tours bus. she is not even in Australia yet and they have changed the hotels, I will be posting updates as this trip continues. This is the sydney austalia to singapore trip. Lets hope everything is great and there are no more changes, to what they were told would be includedn this package. more

Yesterday, 15 members of the JOY Group from Northlake Baptist Church in Longview, WA. took a trip with you to the Christmas Lighting in Leavenworth. It is my position with this group (JOY stands for Just Older Youth), to plan and be in charge of monthly trips, which we take on our bus. But when the request came to go to the Christmas Lighting in Leavenworth, I suggested we would be better to go with your organization. First we were grateful to you for sending the driver to Kelso to pick us up. (Most would not have gone if they had to drive to Chehalis). And what a great driver!!! He was our driver and he is so very competent, an excellent driver for sure. The tour guide is an excellent guide, a real treasure. We all felt so happy and relaxed to be in the care of Mel and David. The accommodations in the Welcome Room at the Enzian Inn were good. The food was wonderful. We were all very pleased. My mom and I got back from our fabulous tour last Tuesday, and I am still dreaming that I am touring some quaint town in the Mediterranean or waiting to board teh bus for an exciting tour! had such an incredible time. I hope in 10 1/4 years, when I reach 55, the company is still going strong because I will definitely book my vacations with you! This was my second Discovery trip and it was so much more then I expected. The other passengers were very friendly and helpful. The Tour Host was outstanding and excellent at helping those of us mix and mingle. He made everyone feel comfortable and treated all with respect and kindness. The tour was well organized and everything was first class. I plan on taking more trips with this company in the future more

If you haven't been on the Lady of the Lake Mail Boat run in Lake Chelan, then your missing out on one of Washington's great treasures and using this company is the best way to see the area. Everything was done per the itinerary and operated just like clockwork. We stoped in the historical village of Roslyn (once the filming location of Northern Exposure) and a local guide took us on a walking tour. Discovery Tours arranged an amazing lunch at Suncadia Resort where the views took your breath away and the food was top notch. We took the mail run up the lake through deep gorges, the scenery was amazing and the colors of the lake deep jewel colors. They arranged a private tour that included Rainbow Falls and hot lunch for us on arrival. Our hotel overlooked the lake. It was very peaceful and relaxing. On our return home they surprised us with ice cream and hot apple pie at a local farm. We met the family and learned about running an orchard. We have done many tours with this company and you can trust that you will be getting more then you pay for everytime. My favorite part is they have a lovely balance of free time so you do not feel like school children on a field trip. Their staff is very friendly, working hard to be sure everyone mixes and mingles. More then I have seen on any other company I have traveled with. If you haven't been to this area of Washington make it part of your bucket list. more

Discovery Tours has the highest safety rating that can be obtained by the Department of Transportation and has maintained this record year after year. The results can be seen online at the departments website. There is no record of any complaint filed against Discovery Tours with their credit card processor regarding overcharging a card. The posting below is slanderous, if not they would have taken their complaints through legitimate channels. more

The bus driver was not paying attention to the road, which caused him to swerve several times. I don't know who they have working in their office but they don't know what they were doing. My card was charge 4 times for two tickets. more

I got mu new catalog yesterday and WOW !! What a great list of places to go and things to do. I'm torn about which to chose. If it was possible I could be traveling every day for the next year. I just recently finished a tour with Discovery to Utah's National Parks. This was my first tour with this company and I did not know what to expect. I want to tell you from the moment I meet the Tour Manager on the bus everything was wonderful. The driver and tour manager were both friendly, professional and informative. They really cared about the customers. Someone must have spent hours planing every detail and it all work magically. Many extra activities like a sunset float on the river, bbq picnic in the park and so much more made it seem like our group was special. I enjoyed all of it and cannot wait to book with this company again! Pros: Friendly Staff, Beautiful Bus, Great Activities Cons: None more

In January my mother and I went to Rosarito Beach Mexico and it was another awesome trip with Discovery . This company must spend days on research to find all the wonderful side trips they included. Every one of their employees goes out of their way to make each tour they do special. For example drivers who show up as Santa, escorts that throw in an unexpected community event, shuttle service to restaurants in the evening and the list goes on. I wonder if the owner ever sleeps! We just returned from a tour I would call "the hidden inside passage" with Discovery Tours. While hoards of tourists fill Alaska's Inside passage, Discovery took us took us into Canada's Sunshine Coast. This hidden gem offers majestic fjords, charming waterfront villages and wildlife viewing. While traveling by water via ferries, chartered boats and riding the bus on country roads we just relaxed by our big picture windows and watched the world pass us by. The Discovery staff took care of all the details including booking us into beautiful hotels and charming waterfront inns. Why would anyone go through the hassle of trying to put together a trip by themselves when this company does all the work and saves you money too! Pros: they do the work, you have the fun Cons: they offers so many tours, how do you choose! more

We just returned from a tour to Mexico's Copper Canyon and the tour was spectacular. The company provided their own deluxe transportation and bi-lingual driver. Not only was the tour guide and driver professional, but also friendly and fun to be with. Always available when needed, but aware of giving private time too. Meals were varied and incorporated both regional specialties and US franchise chains (sometimes we needed that break!). From snacks on the bus to ice cream stops, we were taken care of from the moment we left until our return. The hotels were well above average and not US Chain hotels offering local charm and beauty. There was enough narration to enhance the tour, but not so much to infringe on relaxation. Local guides and activities enhanced the whole experience. We recently finished a tour from Niagara Falls to New York City with Discovery Tours. It was our first tour but not our last. In fact we just signed up for a 16 day tour of the historic south for March. Everything was top notch from the hotels to the meals. What a pleasure it was just to sit back and relax on one of thier beautiful buses while the countryside passed by. All details were looked after by their friendly staff. They brought on local guides to highlight major destinations and included many local and well known activties. We really liked how flexiable they were. Sometimes just pulling off at a local fruit stand or store. Discovery Tours is a very positive asset to our community and you have a new spokesperson in us. Thanks for the memories! more

I have been a customer of Discovery Tours since 1998 and have been on over 100 tours with them. They have newer buses, friendly staff and well planed tours. Not every tour can go perfect, but even when there is a bump in the road, they jump right in and fix it in the best way possible. I attended their annual travel show yesterday along with 500 other happy customers. Over the years I have made many new friends on the tours. It was a pleasure to see so many people I knew. The tours are designed for people over 50 , but my daughters travel with me all the time and they are just over 40. Pros: A great way to get out of the house and make friends Cons: I can't think of any more

Yesterday my husband and I had one of the most enjoyable times of our lives. We took the first of many more Discovery Tours. We caught the bus for a cruise on the Lady Washington. We had a wonderful hard working Tour Manager and a considerate and cautious driver. Both made sure the passengers had a great time. The office was efficient in getting our invoice out and processing our payment. This is the best tour company in the Northwest and we cannot wait now to try one of the longer tours offered in their brochure. We have recommended them to all our friends. Pros: This company really trys to make customers happy and relaxed Cons: Too many choices in their brochure and not enough time to take them all! more

Just return from a 16 day tour to Alaska and it was the best i've been on so far! Tour went from Seattle to Anchorage by motor coach. Bus was very comfortable, on board staff was friendly and helpful. The hotels, meals and activties exceeded my expectations. Company specializes in travel for us folks over 50 and you can tell they do their homework about our needs. This local company is very popular, so it can be dificult to get through on the phone, but it is worth it. This my 8th tour with this company and it will not be my last. Pros: very friendly drivers & staff Cons: difficult to get through to them on the phone more

I think this is the rudest business I have ever dealt with. Instead of trying to please the customer, the customer is treated like they are stupid for asking questions. I would never use this business for any type of tour as they definitely do not act like they want your business. Very rude!!! more
