LIFE SAVING EXPERIENCE My husband and I are a one car family thus we baby our 10 year old Saturn. He was under the hood last week because I told him the car was growling (that is the only way I can describe that noise) and noticed the top motor mounts had snapped. He did not want to risk making the situation worse so we took it in to Discount Transmission. William came out, looked at the car and gave us an estimate for the top motor mounts. He called us early Monday and not only had the top motor mounts snapped, but apparently the bottom ones had snapped a while back and the top ones had been holding the motor up. At this point, the motor was sitting on the transmission and one of the bolts on it had snapped. Basically, we had been driving around with an engine about to fall right out of the car. Yes, it was more expensive than the original estimate, however, there was A LOT more wrong than originally thought. The car was ready to be picked up on Wednesday. Because we are a one car family, one of the mechanics came to get me. In addition to fixing the motor mounts and transmission bolts, he replaced my hoses, fixed my gas cap, and washed my car, inside and out. William knows my husband is a ""shade tree"" mechanic and he gave him a list of the sensors he needed to replace to get the car running almost perfect. They kept us informed of the progress and the work was completed very quickly! I highly recommend Discount Transmission! more

Stay away. I called for some transmission work. I had all the parts ibut didnt have the work space to complete it myself. They quoted me at 250. I thought it was cheap so when I dropped the truck off I asked again if it was still 250. They said yes. I had new oil, shift kit, and new cooler lines. I explained that the new lines were hoses and not tubing so to prevent any issues with running the new hoses they would have to connect them to the original lines and pull them through. They did not listen and it took them a lot of extra time to complete job, which they charged me for. Next they didn't use a back up wrench when removing the cooler lines from the cooler which cracked the cooler causing it to leak. They charged me for a new cooler saying it was a engineering flaw of GM's. I explained it wasn't leaking before I brought it to them and it didnt leak until they put a wrench on it but they still wouldn't cover their mistake. When I went to pick the truck up they told me it would be 600 now for the parts and additional labor. They also said that it would be another 250 on top of the 600 to perform a transmission relearn. All you have to do is drive the truck once the codes are cleared and the transmission saves it's shift points but they wanted extra money to drive it around which I could do myelf. Once I got al my old parts I was getting into my truck to leave and I found empty beer cans in my back seat. I cleaned everything out of my truck before dropping it off to prevent any theft so I know I didnt leave it in there. I took it inside and explained next time their mechanics decide to drink in my truck they should clean out the trash so not to leave evidence. I had been dealing with the owner up to this point put he wasn't there when I picked it up. Once I brought the empty beer can in the manager was willing to work with me saying if I would bring the truck back for oil changes, brakes, etc. he would do the work for free until we were even. I have no intention of taking my truck back there. When I left I noticed my truck wasn't shifting. I stopped at Mr. Transmission which was a couple blocks up the road to have them look at it. They cleared the codes and had me drive the truck again but not change. They dropped the oil pan and found that one of the solenoid plugs were damaged and wasn't plugged in which is why it wasn't shifting. They repaired it for free although I gave them some cash for their trouble and because it was a holiday weekend. I feel like Discount transmission would have charged me a lot more if I would have paid for the transmission re learn process because they would have added on more hours and parts for the solenoid. Again, something that was not broken when I took it in. They also said if I wasnt happy with the work I should have done it myself. I have done this particular job on two other friends trucks but we had a shop we worked in and the shop had been full for the previous 4 months and I was tired of the parts sitting in my garage and didn't want to wait any longer for a bay to open at my friends shop. I would def. stay as far away from this place as possible. They will try to screw you over. Go to Mr. Transmission down the road. You will see some bad reviews about MR. Transmission but that is due to the previous manager who is no longer there. The current manager only wanted me to write a good review for the work he did because he is trying to get the bad reviews from the previous manager replaced with good ones. more

I had my transmission repaired here and I was very pleased with everything. Of course I was very concerned about the repair I had heard transmission repairs can be very expensive. Everything went very smooth from beginning to end. They also did an inspection of my car and found no other problems. No problems at all with my experiene. My car runs better now than ever. This is the worst transmission shop on earth. They are full of lies. I took my truck into them in august of 2008 with a differential problem and carrier bearing problem. They called me back a day later with an estimate of almost 1200.00 to rebuild the differential and replace the carrier bearing. I told them i do not have that kind of money, and they told me DON'T WORRY we have a payment plan. I put down the last $300 that i had and they told me that i could pick up the truck when it was finished and finish making the payments as agreed. So I picked up the truck two weeks later and they told me i had to pay the balance in full. i had to come up with the balance and i took the truck home. when i got it home i found that they forgot to put in several bolts in the rear end. so i took it back and Chris the manager wasso terrible to deal with at this point. Finally 5 months down the road, my carrier bearing went out again. Chris told me to bring it in again for warranty work. He told me i had to pay for the tow, wich really the shop should be paying for it considering they messed up. Also i have to say Chris never returned any of my phone calls and when i asked him about the progress on the truck a week later he told me that it is in the shop and that they are working on it. That is one BIG lie because i was calling from across the street looking at my truck and it has not moved an inch from the day i braught it to them. Pros: NONE AT ALL Cons: EVERYTHING more

They have terrible service here! Do not take your car here unless you want to be ripped off! They tell you it will be one amount and when you are ready to pay all of a sudden the cost doubles??! They wanted to charge me over $600 to put my transmission back together and not even fix it! How stupid...I just towed my car out of there and refused to throw away my money with them. My car was towed for a vibrating transmission on October 10, and it's still sitting there on November 16. Every time I call or go there, they should know something ""by next monday"". Finally, after the last trip up there, multiple gears needed replacing along with other various minor repairs. Well, over 5 mondays later and I still have no car. I have been there before with decent work done, and again made it very clear that this was my only vehicle and I couldn't drive until I got it back. So here I am 6 weeks after the original problem and still have no car to drive and now haven't heard from them in over a week. None of my future vehicles will ever have this shop touch them. more

Had to have my Transmission rebuilt. Took it to them...Total cost $2265. A day later, its leaking transmission fluid...something it never used to do...take it back...they told me they forgot a gasket. A few weeks later, it starts leaking again, they say a seal needs to be replaced...They replace it...Two days after that, it was leaking again...take it back, they are now going to keep it a few days to repair it. Also, they treat others' cars like crap, and tear them up with door dings, and scratches. Would never recommend them. Cons: Service, Quality, Respect more

I took my car in for transmission repair. The transmission was repaired. Two months later the starter fell out of my car. Upon inspection by mechanics I was told that only one side of the starter had been bolted back in the transmission and with a bolt that was the wrong size. I called the transmission shop. It required four days for them to come to a decision. During that time our phone calls were not returned upon calling the phone would ring 14 times with no answer, we had to show them ourselves what the mistake was.
