Discount Tire, since you would have not cared if I wasted my time and fuel to come in for a baited appointment, then you shouldn't mind reaping what you sow: On-line appointment was made for SPECIFIC TIRE on a Thursday evening with your Highway 55/High House shop in Cary,NC. more

about two years ago i bought a 98 altima from a 98 year old man. he knew he was old so he didnt want to drive anymore and wanted to sell the car. when i bought i from him it had a huge dent in the back bumper and three different kinds of rims. i looked for weeks online and at many different auto stores to find some low priced rims that would suit me and my new car. i found a realy nice set of MB weels at Discount Tires for only $62 each. i had to have the new rims put on the old tires that were already on the car. i thought instalation would take a few hours, but the great service and hard working employees got my car and i out of there in about thirty minutes. the rims look great on my car, and i plan to completly finish the car soon. thank you Discount Tires. more

No issues 7/25/2011

I have a hard time believing many reviews on here. Overly negative ones strike me as from a competitor, while glowing positive ones are often from an employee or someone closely connected to the business. (see below for the review that states the ""world would be a better place"" if more businesses were like this. Um, ok, let's get a grip.) Anyhow, have been putting off the purchase of new tires. Finally got around to it this weekend. Called several places and prices were pretty much the same. Let's face it...that' what you're gonna get with businesses like this, very little variation on price. They happened to be having a promotion of no installation charge with the purchase of 4 tires, so I went with them. No appointment necessary, I arrived at 10 a.m. on a Saturday, and it was complete in less than 30 minutes. So yes, I'm satisfied. The folks were nice enough, the prices were comparable to other places and my tires seem to work fine and have not fallen off yet :) But I'm not willing to say it was (nor was I looking for) a life changing experience. It is what it is...they do what they promised and did not appear to be price gauging me. more

Rude Rude Rude! 4/7/2011

Okay, so I call this store and ask about a tire I'm looking at on their website, the guy I talk to says he would have to order it and for some reason it is more expensive than the price I'm looking at ON THEIR WEBSITE that claims ""no additional charges"". Then he spends 5 minutes trying to talk me into another tire they have in stock. I humor him, then order the tires I wanted to buy online. Their website states ""no hassle"" replacement with the ""certificate"", so I buy that at $14 a tire. Great shipping experience, tires come in on time so last night I went online to schedule an appointment to get them installed, which their website says is $20 per tire. I get there today and Drea recognizes me from a previous visit, with a ""oh Your back"". I ignore this as I've been up for almost 2 days and tired as all heck. I let him know I have a 515 appt to get tires mounted. He looks on his computer and says ""Oh you bought them online"" and sneers. Then as if he was calling me an idiot that cant buy tires online demands the tire size. Again I'm exhausted and cant remember, but he asks again, again I cant remember so he sneers again and says ""I have to look a them"" Insult #1. Ya your the only person that can press a button and select tires, jerk. Then he comes back in stomps around doesn't say a thing, plays on the computer for like 3 minutes and says ""do you want the road repair?"" I told him I already paid for it online. He flat out laughs and says, ""we don't honor That in-store"" Insult #2, like your going to sell me a warranty twice you jerk? Then he tried to ask what I paid for the tires, and that they stocked them. I let him know that was not what the salesman told me the week before, and either way I was exhausted, not going to buy a warranty again and just wanted my tires mounted. He got stone silent, played on the computer for a few minutes and said ""that will be $129"" SCREW you! I said that is says on their own website that its $20 for mounting and I already bought the valve stem. So he gets in a huff, plays on the computer clicking crap for at least five minutes, then just walks away into some office. I stand there for a few minutes and say screw this place, took my keys and left. I am a retail manager and hands down I have never NEVER been treated more rudely or more like I was an idiot in my life. The sheer fact that either the guy I talked to last week lied or this guy did about the availability makes me not want to deal with them, but the blatant try to intimidate me into buying the same warranty twice is inexcusable. I used to use this place, but I will NEVER go there again, at least as long as Drea is working there. If you want to be ripped off and lied to by Drea, feel free to go there, otherwise STAY AWAY. more

I will not go back. 3/10/2011

I had bought three sets of tires at Discount Tire and everything was fine. Reasonable pricing, good service. Or so I thought. I just had my state inspection done and they showed me how the ball joints on my vehicle were hanging by a thread - they were so worn out. Scary things can happen when a ball joint fails. Apparently that is of no importance whatsoever to Discount tire. I had a set of new tires put on that same vehicle very recently and nobody bothered to check the ball joints. When I expressed my disappointment to assistant manager about the lack of this simple check in their tire changing procedures, I was told ""we are not mechanics"". Worn ball joints not only affect safety, but tire wear as well. Apparently Discount Tire could not care less what causes your tires to wear. They ""just sell tires"". Well, that was my last set of tires at Discount Tire. Reading other reviews that mention how great the service was, because they explained tire tread depth etc. makes me realize I got caught up in the same illusion. Places that change tires should absolutely be mechanically oriented, and not just forwarding tires from manufacturer to consumer. more

Great customer service! 12/16/2010

One of my tires exploded so I was rolled into Discount Tire on my donut. I found them online because I wanted somewhere close to home and it had mostly good reviews. I walked in and someone helped me right away. I asked him to inspect my other three tires because I suspected they might be problematic and I sure didn't want another blow out. He did a great job informing me of the tread levels and said I could go a little longer before replacing them. I decided to replace all four to be safe (and with the winter weather am very glad I did!). He also told me about the military discount they offer without me asking, which proves to me they are not trying to price gouge. I was at the store less than one hour altogether and it was busy. Once I returned home I looked up online the cost of the tires I purchased and could not find a better price. I would definitely go back. more

Avoid like the plague! 10/19/2010

I have always gone here and never had a problem, until about 2 months ago. I brought it in because of a leak. I told them when I got there that I had to pick my niece up at 3 (it was 12:30). I was the only one in the store. No problem! They said the tire needed to be replaced, then I would be out of there. Now more customers show up. I notice they are all leaving with their vehicles and mine is still on blocks. Long story short, the guy working on my car had gone in back to eat lunch and forgotten about it because he couldn't find the tire. So they have to go get a tire from another store. I got out of there at 2:45. Everyone was very apologetic, and I know mistakes happen, so I move on. Last night I got an allen wrench in my tire. I make an appt for 9am. My husband brings it in, tells them the tire is in the trunk and flat. Mentions we have a wobble in the steering wheel. They come out and tell him the left front tire has a nail and needs to be replaced. Ok fine. Get done with that and husband goes to get in the car and realizes the spare is still on the car. They forgot about the one in the trunk! Apparently the guy in front did not tell the guy in back, just told him to check the tires. So at 11:45, again after everyone else has come and gone after him, he gets out of there. I find out they do not offer him the warranty for the new tire so I call up there and ask to speak to the store manager. I tell him what happened, he says he will call me back. He calls back and says my husband never told him about the flat in the trunk. So my husband brought the car in for a flat and never told him about the flat? He hands the phone to the guy who worked on the car and he swears they were never told. Then that guy asks the guy at the front desk who took down the info, and he says nope, never told me. Refused to admit that anyone had done anything wrong. All this, and my husband tells me this guy apologized to him when he left and admitted he forgot!!! This is twice in 90 days. I am done with them, I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere. more

So Grateful 7/19/2010

I recently noticed that the rim on my front tire was bent. I had no idea how this happened (or how bad the problem was), but with the terrible condition of some of the roads in Morrisville, I can't say I'm surprised. After a bad experience last year, involving a pothole and a $500+ axle replacement/repair, I was desperate for a cheap answer. After checking with a couple other car places over the phone, and being passed around/given other numbers...I was about ready to give up and make an appointment at my dealership (which would ultimately cost an arm and a leg). When I called Discount Tire, I instantly noticed a different tone than I had with the other shops I'd called. The man on the phone didn't make me feel stupid or like my problem wasn't his problem. I immediately drove over, and within an hour, the staff had evaluated my tires and shown me my bent wheel. After deciding that it wasn't a huge issue, Matt moved my bent wheel to the back to ease my mind, and clearly worked some magic with the rim (it looks SO much better). And this was all free of charge. You guys are amazing and I can't thank you enough for your help. more

Above and Beyond 4/5/2010

I had a problem with tires I bought elsewhere, the rear two of four new tires completely wore out (Bald, NO tread left) after 5000 miles, while the front one looked brand new. Pros: Excellent, knowledgable, and willing to go out of their way Cons: Not more of them around more

Helpful and Friendly 3/5/2010

I first found out about Discount Tires when I had flat tire near Costco in Raleigh. They would not repair the tire because I did not buy it from them. They referred me to a Discount Tire location near them on Six Forks Rd. Pros: Exceptionally friendly and helpful more

Honest and Reliable 7/22/2009

These guys gave me a loaner tire to go home, since my tire was unsafe and new tires would not be in until morning. They quoted me a price before I left in the evening, which was exactly the same price my husband looked up on their website. The price remained the same when I returned to get the tires on my car in the morning. Everyone who spoke with me was friendly and professional. I appreciate the trust in borrowing their tire and their concern about my using an unsafe tire. Pros: Honest and professional Cons: They're very busy -- a good sign! more

Best Place for Tires period. 3/20/2009

Uncommonly Honest 12/21/2007

This place exemplifies honest, old-fashioned values. Jeb Brookshire helped me out with everything I needed, and I am a raving fan of this location of Discount Tire. They truly have a customer's best interests in mind. I was very, very impressed with my experience and will not consider going anywhere else in the future. Pros: Strong, honest values and excellent expertise. Cons: None. more

Very honest.. great service 9/14/2007

Very honest place. I recently had a flat tire and I drove to Discount Tire Co at the intersection of High house and HW 55 thinking they will ""sell"" me a new tire saying my flat cannot be fixed. Boy.. I was wrong.. The person helping me was very courteous, told me its repairable and fixed it for free.. Yes.. Free. I had to wait for about an hour(this was on a Saturday and they were busy) and they were apologetic. I was very impressed with their service and candor. I would definitely go back for all my tire needs. more
