Best

Nice and Polite NOT ON YOUR LIFE! And I LOVED IT! These guys are good. Hecklers don't stand a chance. Visiting San Diego near the Convention Center or the New Stadium, This is...

Worst

Okay, so I have been to Dick's a couple of times and I realize it's their "thing" to have rude servers and its all part of the atmosphere. But seriously, sometimes they really cro...

I love Dick's . . . 9/1/2006

but this Dick's was lacking in the fun department. They staff was not excited. I could have gone somewhere else and had the same kind of service. They didn't have much emotion, maybe they were out of one liners that day. Compared to Myrtle Beach and San Antonio, I was disappointed. Not my favorite Dick's but when I go back I'll give it a second chance. more

Food fight for happy hour! 4/22/2006

Hello again! For the Gas Lamp, have you tried Dick's Last Resort? It can be quite a fun crowd if you've got a great sense of humor. People throw things around in fun and the waiters and waitresses are quite the characters... Caution: Must have good sense of humor for this place! more

Owner Message
  • From rug-rats to old farts, from high-class to no-class, from the top of the food chain to the bottom of the barrel, it's fun for all and all in fun for those who dare to enter! Sit back and watch, or join in the fun.
Dick's has always been known for its outrageous, surly, and energetic waitstaff who inflict humor upon our guests. Our atmosphere makes everyone feel like they're temporarily breaking all the rules? and getting away with it!
We have live music every week featuring questionable bands playing classic rock, and there's never a cover charge! You may end up wearing a 2ft tall paper hat complete with a humorous slogan, or doused in a sea of napkins. There's never a dull moment in this 3-ring circus which is exactly how we earned our infamous reputation!

Editorial
  • In Short
Expect a semitropical, ultracasual place with tall drinks and no dress code (unless you count Hawaiian shirts, which are encouraged but not required). Popular with tourists, it's also a fave for bachelorette parties and rowdy brunch crowds. The all-purpose, Southern menu is heavy on seafood and barbecue items, many of which are served in stainless steel pails. Choices include shrimp, king crab, ribs, honey-roasted chicken and sides like coleslaw, fries and honey wheat bread.
