I love cakes and I'm glad that this shop is just near town. Quality cakes for every special occasion.

Worst

This is a real find for those who love fancy cakes & Italian cookies. Everything is out-of-the-oven fresh, and the taste is out of this world.

I moved away from the Bay Area in 1999 and still miss Dianda's pastries ...especially the almond torte and pannatone. When I return to visit I make a stop to load up on goodies. The almond torte freezes well and makes as good a dessert as it does breakfast treat. Toasted pannatone with real butter is a treat anytime - breakfast, with sliced fruite (especially berries) for dessert or just a slice by itself with a cup of tea! YOW. Don't complain about this place ... it is what it is and I love it just the way it is!! more

Best Italian Pastry - In the Mission!!! 8/12/2005

Dianda's is a surreal experience the first time you go. Tucked into a block in deep Mission, this Italian bakery(yes, you read that right- Italian) is an unexpected find. You would expect Italian pastry this good and authentic in North Beach, how lucky to have it in a more accessible location. The morning pastries are good, as are all the cookies. Sometimes I go and pick out a bunch of different cookies, prices are reasonable so you can really sample. The cakes are where it's at though. If you really love someone get them the strawberry cake for their birthday. One thing though, there is no seating and the coffee is not great. more

Where would I be if Italian American Pastry on Mission street didn't exist? That place is great - I can't live without sweets and because of this place - I don't :) I buy my cakes and other sweet deserts there every day they are opened! Feel free to check out Italian American Pastry and see what you can find for yourself! Enjoy the sweets! more
