Editorial review from Citysearch 1/4/2015

I currently work at a veterinary er. On new years day my friend called me saying his dog was convulsing. He asked if I could come look at his dog with him. He was not home that night or day with his dog and just got the call at 3pm from a roommate. Right away when I saw his 2 year old lab I told him that he needed to bring him in. The dog was tremoring and could not even stand up. My friend told me how he was tight on money. So instead of bring him to the wonderful place I work, that costs a good amount of money, I decided to try Diamond vet in hopes they would have a payment plan (which they do not). We got into the car and took his dog straight there. When we arrived there was no receptionist up front, we had to wait for a younger girl with pink hair to come up front and she then put us in a room. When the dog should have clearly seen a doctor. The tech or assistant came in and I told her right away that his gums were pale, and his heart rate was elevated. She then said she had to go get a thermometer (because there was not one in the room or in her hand). After she got the temperature she left and the receptionist came back in and was talking to us about money and go figure, the dog has a seizure. I yell for a doctor and one of the techs comes in and stands there in awe as im holding the seizing dog. She finally starts to take him and yells at us, ""Now don't lie, what could he have gotten into!!"" When we arrived we stated that he had gotten into the trash last night and we were unsure of anything else. Needless to say, they were unprofessional, not prepared for an emergency (even though they are an emergency clinic) and very inexperienced. They should have taken the dog to be evaluated by the doctor first thing. I would never recommend taking any pets there. They did cost less than other clinics but you get what you pay for there. Cheap bill and even cheaper service. more

HORRIBLE PLACE!!! 8/8/2011

This place is horrible! They wouldn't even take my dying dog into the back while I got the money together. When I finally did, they just told me that there was nothing they could do unless I had $1,200. My dog had parvo. I didn't know this at the time, (obviously). I found out later that you can get the saline solution from the vet and try to nurse your dog back to health yourself, they insert the IV catheter for you and you just inject the medicina at intervals. I understand some vets do ""like"" doing that, but it was still an option that they could've suggested. Also, After I paid them the emergency fee, they wanted more money to put her to sleep! I know the injection itself is no more than $20. They wanted 4 times that amount! and I didn't have the money to have her body dealt with so they made me take her home in a box! How messed up is that?? They told me to go to the shelter in the morning and ""have her disposed of""... THEY ARE RUDE AND DON'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AT ALL!!! WHY AREN'T WE REGULATING THESE RIP OFF, USELESS, INCONSIDERATE VETERINARY HOSPITALS! more

Great People, Great Service 5/8/2010

I have been going to Diamond Veteraniarn Associates for over 20 years now and have been happy with the service they provided to my pets. I think the comments that ryoarwa makes are interesting. I searched the web and did not find ""a ton"" of bad reviews. Yes, not everything was positive, but I think ryoarwa is certainly exagerating their point. Pros: Compassionate, knowledgable Cons: some services are a bit pricey more

AWFUL, terrible experience 9/29/2009

This place has tons of complaints and severely negative reviews across the net. Unfortunately, I took my dog here when she was in pain, and they did a terrible job of diagnosing her problem, soaking me for hundreds of dollars in the process. Even when the tests came back showing their diagnosis was wrong, they stuck to their extremely expensive course of treatment, costing me HUNDREDS of dollars of completely worthless treatment. When I took my pet to a real vet, the first thing he did was disprove their misdiagnosis and correct their mistreatment, for a tenth of what they charged. As far as I'm concerned, this place is a money-making grinder, and they will soak you for as much as they can. STAY AWAY! Cons: extremely expensive misdiagnosis and unwarranted treatment more

Very cool place! 10/21/2008

I've been going to Diamond for years, whether it's a routine check for one of my animals, or an emergency. They have 24/7 care available. They love animals-all the staff does-and neither I nor my animals have ever been treated with disrespect. They go over prices before they perform them. When my mom's dog died there, the doctor made a special card with the dog's footprint and a sympathetic note. It meant a lot to my mom, as she was out of town at the time. I would like to recommend this vet to everyone! more

Great health care for your pets 5/12/2008

I've taken my dog here before and they were wonderful. Our normal vet is closed on the weekend and our vet recommends this place for emergencies. We didn't have to wait very long for our pet to be seen. The vet was very nice and only did tests that were necessary so we didn't have to pay a huge bill when we were finished. They really cared for my pet's well being. more
