I bought my wife a gift certificate worth quite a bit for our 2 year anniversary. And let me start by saying that she enjoyed herself immensely. With two kids ages four and one it is quite difficult for her to spend the time on herself and maintain the way she did before the kids. So that is where the spa and salon came to my mind. And judging by the way she spent the night with me she was more than appreciative, wink, wink. She told me about how it wasn't just like a normal time of getting her hair done. The way the staff welcomed her from the entrance symbolized the day she was going to have. They provided food, which the owner Bob, whom I had met myself when obtaining the certs., made up special for her and my sister, who also gave overwhelming reviews of the service and professionalism of the staff. They got several things done, and all were top notch, but what stood out the most to me from my wife's testimony was how all of the girls were unbelievably friendly and accommodating to her every need. Continualy making sure they were ok, and if they had any need what so ever. This is a place that she will visit again since the cert. i gave her had enough for several visits. I would suggest any husband to go the same route, when that special time comes around, or even if you just want to surprise the misses with a special something extra, because she will not be disappointed, and I assure you if she isn't neither will you. I hosted a bachelorette party at this spa. The entire party was pampered and spoiled! Staff took their time performing a variety of services. They were conversational and very friendly!! I didn't feel rushed like you do with other spas. Our guests left the spa satisfied and refreshed. Prices were reasonable besides I am willing to pay extra in price (If need be) for service like this. If you are offered food, I recommend it!!! "Bob" is a great cook!! Needed a repair cut. God I hate when people don't listen. I said, "trim about a half inch off". She went crazy and just kept cutting. Thank God Details was open on a Monday. Even decided to get a dab of color while I was at it. I think I'm going to try a facial next week. Pros: they were open, they fixed my hair. what more could I ask for? As always, Details Rocks. The staff is always the nicest. They make you feel like you belong. Not snotty at all. Almost to homey. Sometimes I just hang out afterwards and talk. I've never been there when it's that busy which is a little strange. The work they do is first rate, all the way. They never try talking me into things I don't need and they always have done a great job. A friend told me that her hair was too short but in the same breath said that the picture she showed them was short also. Got laser done also. That was a lot less painful then waxing,. No in-grown hairs either. Oh yeah, went to a party there about two weeks ago, Now that was fun!!! more

everyone said that they wouldn't work on my hair. They use something called enzymes. It doesn't cause further damage. Thank God! The brassy hair I received I left with from the other salon,(that I won't mention on North, east of Dame)(Did I do that?), was unbearable. When they said I had to wait two weeks, I was mortified. All fixed. No problem. Tears gone. It wasn't $30, but neither was the brassy hair. I guess you get what you pay for. They feed me too. I thought they were joking. Was good. Everyone was so helpful. I will definetly go again. Pros: Only saw good stuff, very clean and friendly Cons: none really, off street parking would have been nice. Plenty on the street though. more

"I normally go to a place on Western and Addison - however they did not offer a paraffin wax treatment, which is what I needed, so I saw that this establishment did. Keep in mind you can get a perfectly realaxing and 5 star manicure and pedicure for 30 dollars (cheep and cheerful- as I like to put it). It was almost 30 for just a manicure and an extra 5 for the paraffin. But I left quite unsatisfied. The best part of it was the lady who worked on me. She was very pleasant and friendly and of course I left a fair tip. But for the sake of the business' name I would either get better nail technicians or lower the price. The nail polish was messy, did not cover all of nails and a spray was used to dry them quicker. When I got home there were all these tiny bubbles from the spray and they werent dry so got ruined. Just not worth $40, If it was cheaper I would probably not be writing this but 30 is expensive for just a manicure, there are nail spas in the loop that are cheaper than that. I think I will be going back to my old place and buy a paraffin wax treatment kit. Pros: Champagne, coffee, water and very pleasant and friendly staff. Cons: Not worth the money when you can get a better job for half the price. more

A group of friends and I went out to eat and across the street is where i saw Details and the main thing that caught my eye was the window display. So the following day I went in and I got a hot stone massage. I had never gotten a massage before and the massage therapist made me feel comfortable and at ease. She explained the procedures of the hot stone massage before she started the massage. After the massage I felt so relaxed and releaved. It was a great experience. I will be back!!!!! Pros: Service, and the food!!!! Cons: None that i could see. more

I had a wonderful day at Details salon and spa, I got a one hour massage, which I have never had and they made me feel so comfortable, and it was so relaxing. After my relaxing massage, I got a manicure and pedicure. While I was getting my pedicure the manager "Bob," offered me steak with rice and potato's. It was delicious. The employee's are very nice and welcoming. I WILL BE BACK SOON! IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! I LOVED IT! Pros: service, atmosphere Cons: None that i could see. more

This place rocks my socks! Ok, I'll admit, my friend Mary works there - but she's freaking awesome at what she does! I've gotten my hair cut by friends before and its ended in tears... But Mary has made me a happy *and surprisingly thinner looking* lady! PLUS the owner used to be a chef, and happened to whip up some amazing steak and potatoes for us (he even made my husband a plate when he came to pick me up). Apparently he does this all the time! i went to detailes and I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!! i had a pedicure and ended up with a HORRIBLE FUNGUS on my toe. Because of there filthy tools and equipment i ALMOST LOST MY TOE!!!!!! THEY MAKE YOU SIGN A RELEASE BEFORE YOUR SERVICES SO WHEN THEY CAUSE YOU SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS YOUR STUCK WITH THE BILL.!!!!!!!I FOUND THE OWNER BOB BLACK TO BE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... HE TOLD SEXUAL JOKES WHILE I WAS THERE AND IT MADE ME FEEL VERY DISRESPECTED. THE EMPLOYEES ARE EVEN WORSE...... My boyfriend and I when in to get a one hour massage over the weekend, and we ended up staying for manicures too. It's convenient that they offer so many services in one place. The people were extremely friendly and down to earth. We live on the southside of Chicago, but it's worth the trip for the great service and affordable prices. After a tough week with work, I decided to get a massage at a nearby spa in my neighborhood. (Logan Square) Lilia was fantastic. She not only completely relaxed me but explained all the areas that I've built up stress and tension. Afterwards, she gave me a bottle of water and told me strech more, relax and drink more fluids. I was stress-free and felt like I was walking on cloud nine. If you need a massage, Details Salon and Spa is an excellent choice. Pros: Great massage -- Great Service more

I find something about Details very attractive. So here is what i'm going to do today. I'm going to go there and spend the whole day there. I'll see what i can get by doing that. I know it will give me peace of mind hanging out there today. That's what a salon is suppose to do for someone. That's what it's going to do for me. I'll be there a couple times a week now. Decided to try a spa on a "different side" of town yesterday.... I was pleasantly surprised. Details has a very intimate/family feel to it. Great service on a personal level. I was only going in to get a manicure and somehow found myself getting a pedicure and massage as well to just to hang out for longer there. I also booked a Brazilian Laser treatment(So sick of wax) for next monday. Usually I am into the prententious a** kissing of a downtown spa. But for a less money, a well cooked meal, and the feeling I might get invited to the owners family reunion---I am hooked on this place. Just wanted to get on and express the gratitude i have for this facility. Last week, I had one of the most stressful weeks in the office so my boyfriend gave me a gift cetificate for this new salon in my neighborhood. I was kinda skeptical because they just recently opened but that feeling was quickly soothed away! I got the 45minute massage and one of the best facials ever! I literally had the feeling of walking on air. It was so great they are now part of my weekly schedule. I really can't wait till Friday after work now! Although it is off the beaten path, it is worth stopping by. it is much better than having to go into downtown and doing business with downtown salons! Pros: fish tanks! Cons: asian decor! more

I thought no way! You did not just get me a gift certificate to someplace in the middle of no where! Was I ever wrong. Four blocks from the highway. Beautiful place. Friendly(wrong word fo it), excited staff. The bald guy is hilarious. Oh and can he cook!!! I don't think he's really white. Haha. My pedicure included a knee to foot full massage. The facial was something else. 45 minutes of pure pleasure. don't think I can do them justice. No attitude. No lie. Just really nice people. You don't get the feeling you belong many places anymore, here you do. I'm theirs from now on. They deserve the support of the community. I hope they get it. Pros: They didn't miss a beat. You have to experience it to understand it. They care, really care. It's like family. I've been going there for a while. Sometimes I read about things in a magazine and go in and ask them. They can do it, but sometimes they explain a better solution that costs less. Usually it's the other way around. They feed you, they just treat you right. No attitude, just great service. The facials are the bomb. Pedicures have never been this good. Am I their friend? Hell yes! I never see them outside of the salon but, I feel like I've known them forever. We did a girls night out party there, stayed till midnight. All six of us were amazed. Oh yeah! Bathing suits, bathing suits, bathing suits.... Did I tell you about the laser treatments. No more waxing. none, nada, zip..... Pros: they do everything, friendly, probably 25% cheaper than downtown, gorgeous place Cons: It use to look closed all the time. They just put windows in. Iv'e been searching for a good place to get my hair done at a reasonable price. They do a wide varity of services, so i can get everything i need to get done. They have everything from lazer hair removal to nails services to massages. They always are running special deals on services. I love the people there and i will keep going back to them. i recommend you to stop in and try it out!! Pros: They Finally Got Windows!! more
