Wonderful Salon and Service 1/3/2010

At Destenee, everyone is always friendly and welcoming! Whitney has been my stylist for over six months. She is always on time and ready and willing to recommend the right cut and color for my face shape and skin tone. She will not let you leave without your hair looking its best. I receive complements on my hair constantly! Pros: Clean, Organized, Efficient, etc! more

Destenee Is a Treat 1/3/2010

I have been a loyal customer at Destenee for several years now, and I am very satisfied. Going to Destenee is a treat, with the staff taking special care to help you relax and enjoy the experience. Whitney, a recent addition to the staff, is knowledgeable and talented, and she takes the extra time to figure out what works best for me. Bobbi, the owner, checks in with clients and is making improvements to the salon so that it will be even more relaxing---soft music and soft lighting in the shampoo room. being new to n.c. i had quite the hunt for a hairdresser that was willing to take extra time to listen to me and understand what style is best for my hair and face. Whitney is considerate, willing, and an adept stylist. my hair is much easier to manage and more becoming ( i think) than prior to the appointment. i look forward to more appointments w her and would highly recommend her to others . What a wonderful salon. Each individual is treated as a unique person with her/his needs as the top concern. Bobbie is creative and very good with color matching to my graying natural shade. The place to go 12/12/2009

The atmosphere is great and they really do work as a team to make you completely satisfied. You can tell that they enjoy what they do and that's what makes them do a fantastic job. At least I know they did for me! I would recommend them to anybody! Pros: They have a hot receptionist! Cons: N/A more

Great place to go 12/11/2009

Destenee Salon is wonderful!! Since I moved to Chapel Hill for school, I've been looking for a salon to go for hair and waxing treatments, that’s why I will always go to this generous place to have haircuts and/or waxing. I read all the reviews and found it a better place to go to. Pros: best croissants in town Cons: Absolutlely none! more

Destenee Salon is wonderful!! Since I moved to Chapel Hill for school, I've been looking for a salon to go for hair and waxing treatments. I've tried several different places and have not been happy with the service. I've been coming to Destenee's Salon for the past several months and have always had wonderful service! Awesome Place for Hair 12/2/2009

I have been going to Destenee for about couple months now and I will never go any where else. Carrie is great with curly hair. She is always giving me a new style to try on my own. The staff's service is excellent. I am always offered a bottle of water upon entering and they use Paul Mitchell products. Overall a great experience each visit! Pros: Carrie Dacunto is excellent with curly hair! Cons: Absolutley none! more

Bobbie and her staff have been a great find for me. Excellent results every time. Always better than I deserve! Most importantly for me is that they are very accommodating and will do whatever they can to meet your schedule. Great place! Destenee Salon and Spa 11/21/2009

I started going to Carrie Dacunto when she was in school. She was a star pupil and is a rock star stylist. She is the only one who has managed to match my true color so I don't have to get my hair colored as frequently as before. She listens to me - really listens - and understands what I need and want in a style. She's the only one who has been able to do my bangs without making me look like I'm 10. Then she shows me how to do it at home!! And she's a great makeup artist, too. I always get great advice and the service from her and the rest of the staff is warm and friendly. I highly recommend this salon. It is worth the 30 min. drive. Pros: Fabulous Service Cons: Too far from my house more

Been going there since Bobbie bought the salon 11/10/2009

Followed Bobbie to this salon before she bought it. Now that she has the staff in place that she hired instead of the stylists that were there under the other owner, everyone's attitude is much better, friendly and knowledgeable. Last time I was in for a hair cut, I mentioned that my eyebrows were loosing their shape due to my aging. Bobbie turned me over to a brow specialist on the spur of the moment. I am thrilled with the way they look and the hints she gave me. Old dogs can learn new tricks. I have recommended this salon to a number of friends and they have all been pleased and have become regulars. Pros: Easy Parking, spa pampering even if only getting cut more

HAPPY CAMPER 11/10/2009

I recently went to Destenee Salon and Spa for the first time. My appointment was with Whitney and I couldn't have been more pleased. She gave me a perm and I then received a cut, style, and blow dry. She was very knowledgeable and actually took time to listen when I was explaining what I was looking for. I can honestly say that she gave me the best perm I have ever gotten. And believe me when I say I have had a lot of them over the years. My hair feels really great and I have received many compliments. I will definitely go back. Thanks Whitney. See you again soon. Excellent stylists and fun atmosphere! 11/5/2009

I've seen Carrie D. twice for down-do's. She is PHENOMENAL!!! Both times she's done my hair, I received countless compliments from both friends and strangers. Carrie is great about soliciting my input, and injecting her own style and expertise into her styling. The receptionists are also very sweet. I highly recommend this salon! Autumn breezes and an old outgrown summer style are sending me back to Bobbie for a fresh fall haircut. This salon is so caring and concerned with the appropriate look for each customer, not just what the stylist has in mind that day. Bobbie is excellent with color too. Carrie D. is the best! 10/7/2009

Carrie D... Where have you been all of my life? I just want to say that Carrie at Destenee knows her business!!! I have naturally dirty blond hair, and have spent countless dollars and time in various salons throughout the years getting highlights done. Carrie D. is an expert in color, and suggested that she do an all- over color back in July upon my first visit to the salon (much more cost effective, and less maintenance, and less damaging to the hair itself). Boy was she right, the all around color/dye job (blonder then my natural color) has held up great! I've needed no maintenance up until now (October). I have gotten tons of compliments on my beautiful and "natural" blond hair. I cannot say enough about how refreshing it is to have such an honest, upfront, and talented hairdresser!!!! The salon itself is very comfortable, and clean, and they'll pour you a glass of complementary wine at any hour of the day. Great hair, great stylist, great prices!!!! Thank you Carrie D and Destenee Salon!!!! more

Love my Stylist 9/29/2009

I have been going to Destenee for awhile now and always feel welcome and comfortable. Jeremy is the BEST. He has been coloring and stylig my hair for over 8 years and always gets it right. How lucky to find someone who is so professional and extremely in the know on what is new and fresh when it comes to women and current styles. Jeremy will never steer you wrong I trust him completely with keeping me in style. This place rocks!! 9/15/2009

We came in with a wedding party and got our hair and makeup done. The stylists that did our updo's took their time and really paid attention to what we wanted. We had about 10 people in our group and came in on a Sunday. Destenee salon and spa treated us with fresh fruit, mimosa's, white wine, pasteries and smiles. I feel as though they are so unique in the personal touches that they provided to our party. The staff really made us feel welcome and went way beyond our expectations. Our make up artists Carrie and Seema were so talented. Seema was so upbeat and did an exceptional job with my makeup. She really listened to what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable with every step. Thanks for a wonderful job ladies, we will def be back, and will send friends your way! Excellent Service 9/15/2009

My service was actually with Carrie for my mother's wedding, but our pleasant welcome was from Whitney. She made my mother and I experience worth the wait. Our wait was not long at all for Carrie whom was finishing up a guest. Whitney guest service is exceptional! Carrie did my mom's makeup like a movie star for her wedding. While waiting for my mom, Whitney service me. Well let me tell you....I WILL NOT BE LEAVING WHITNEY. Not only did she give me a drop dead haircut and color, but the shampoo service was PRICELESS. I received so many compliments on my hair at the wedding. Whitney & Carrie, my mom and I took you business cards and placed them on the table at the reception...and LET'S JUST SAY THEY WERE NONE TO BE FOUND!!! i LOVE my hilights! 9/15/2009

i had been going to the same hairstylist for about a year, but she was often afraid to branch out. i wanted a more chunky hilight, so i thought i would try someone new. whitney was FABULOUS! i felt completely comfortable with her, and she communicated really well about what look i was going for so that we were on the same page. in the past i've been a little intimidated by my hairdresser (i.e.: i didn't want to tell them if i didn't like it bc i was afraid to hurt their feelings) but whitney was so straightforward that i'm sure if it hadn't turned out so perfectly she would've made the extra effort until i was satisfied. i've gotten tons of compliments on my new shiny hilights, and the tones and thickness of hilight is exactly what i wanted. Great Vibe at this Salon! 9/13/2009

I have to say that this is by far the best salon that I have ever been to. I had an appointment for a highlight and cut. The staff there was very nice and everyone seemed to work together. My appointment was with Hamza. I told him what I wanted and he suggested that we start with something a little more subtle first and if I wanted to go more drastic after that that we could. I'm glad he did because I elected to go with the more subtle highlight. The stand out performance for me was the shampoo. He gave an incredible scalp massage with the shampoo. I beleive that great service should not go unnoticed. I'll be back for the great job he did on my hair, but it helps that he's not too hard to look at either. ;o) Pros: Best Salon Visit Ever!
