My wonderful hubby sent my daughter and I for massages and I don't think it could have gotten any better than this!!!!!!! Brett was awesome. Best salon experience ever. I've been looking for a good hairstylists for my whole life and have always wound up disappointed. I felt I paid too much, never got what I wanted, and felt like the staff was fake. This place is nothing like that! My sister recommended Destenee to me and I'll never use another place again! Our stylist is Whitney and like I tell her every time, she is my hero. My hair is naturally curly, horribly frizzy, and difficult to manage; in short, I hate it. Therefore, I never plan my haircuts and my appointments are always emergencies to me when I just get too fed up. I always get an appointment the same day and Whitney makes my hair bearable again! She always remembers what I want and helps to do whatever she can to make my hair more manageable. All the staff is incredibly friendly and remember me every time they see me. I always get compliments on my style or color every time I visit. To top it off, the price is super affordable and there is wine! My best experience was with my sister when we had our toes and fingers done for her wedding. Carrie did a great job and it just felt like we were just hanging out with friends. They didn't seem rushed at all and while our nails dried, we sat and talked with everyone. It was a lot of fun and to top it off, Whitney made sure to squeeze me in a last minute/unexpected appointment after our nails so my hair would be freshly cut and styled for the wedding. I haven't had a massage yet, but it's definitely next on my list! I reccommend this place every chance I get. more

I LOVE THIS SALON. I called them last minute because of a disaster with my practice wedding up-do at a different salon. Carrie Dacunto stayed late to do a quick consult with me the night before my wedding, and rearranged her schedule the next day to make sure that she could fit me in. The up do and make up she did were incredible!!!!!!!!! She and all the employees at Destenee were so supportive, professional and nice, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. From now on, I will not go to another salon. more

Brent is an incredibly knowledgeable and personable masseuse. He really cares about helping me with my injuries, and asking as many questions as possible to help target how the issue started, what to do to heal it through massage and how to prevent it. I have learned so much from him and see him about once a week, an indulgence I never thought I'd use, BUT HE'S WORTH IT! I did two sessions with him my first week and immediately felt relief from pain. I felt like I was walking on air after tons of aches and pains in my legs from being an athlete and personal trainer. Check it out, you definitely will looooooove it! more

I I overheard two ladies at the Estee Lauder counter raving about him, that's how I found out about Cody. I don't know about ya'll but there's something about a male hairdresser...they just " have it". I had the best experience and cut of my life when I scheduled an appointment with Cody. He listened to me, asked me about my hair challenges then he offered suggestions. He totally took my look to the next level with the color he suggested! I'm not going to ramble on and on like in some posts they are so long you almost wonder if they are real- LOL. Just give Cody a try if you want a modern edge to your look. He's not going to give you the same blah look like every other chick around town. I also brought my two PICKY :) teenage daughters to him after my experience and they are also in love with his talent and all their friends are now going to him. The only problem is, he's so GOOD at hair that he books up fast so don't expect to get in TODAY if you call. But good things are worth waiting for. Thanks Cody! See you in a month! more

I first found Destinee as a bride-to-be looking for an up-do for the Big Day. My mom had suggested Destinee as she had been there once before and had a good experience. I booked a trial appointment with Carrie and we talked about what I was envisioning for my hair, what accessories I had and we came up with something that I thought I wanted. Well it turned out it wasn't perfect, but Carrie had some other suggestions, so I booked another trial. The second time she hit it out of the park! I loved my hair and everyone who saw pictures of it, loved it!! It was exactly what I had wanted! She had also mentioned that she was a professional make-up artist. I was nervous about having my make-up done for the wedding, as so many pictures you see make the bride look awful with over-done make-up. I wanted to look like myself. As we were doing my hair, I decided to try it out, after all it was a trial run. I have never been happier with a decision in my life!!! It looked fantastic! It was natural and I looked just like myself. When I showed my mom, she was so impressed that she decided to have her make-up done as well. On the day of, all of the employees were so helpful! Cody, Whitney, and Bobbi did my bridesmaids up-dos which all turned out fantastic, Carrie did my hair and make-up and everything was so wonderful! This was one thing that day I did not have to stress about! They even had fresh fruit for us that morning, talk about relaxing! My mom and I both had our make-up done with Carrie and both of us looked fantastic in all the pictures! After the wedding and honeymoon, I could not wait to cut my hair and put some color into it. The week after the honeymoon, I booked an appointment with Carrie, needless to say, she did a great job. My highlights were just what I was looking for, and the cut was great! Today, I had another appointment with Carrie. I wanted to warm up my highlights for the fall and needed a cut. It was a wonderfully relaxing experience and my hair came out just as I wanted it! In the past, I had always had a hard time finding the right stylist. Now that I have found one, I will always be returning. All the stylists at the salon are helpful and talkative, it is a great place for a pick-me-up, up-do, whatever! I would highly recommend it! more

When one walks into a place of business, there is a certain atmosphere--a personality that comprises more than just the decor. One can sense at Destenee that the employees get along with one another, which is a strong signal respect. This respect is important because it transfers to the customers. I certainly feel this with Carrie, my hairdresser. She is genuine and therefore genuinely cares for her clients. Carrie truly listens and will do whatever it takes to make your experience a pleasure. Wow, is the word that describes this place. I'm byracial so needless to say my hair is crazy and unmanageable. I'm from florida and i had a great salon down there but when we moved up to North Carolina i could not find one place who could do my hair. My mom and I couldn't find products or anything. PRE-VISIT;;; A couple of weeks ago i had my prom, i had no idea what i was going to do with my hair, so my mom looks up places in the triangle and Destenee Hair Salon comes up. We had called other places but when we got on the phone with the secretary we just knew this place was it. ATMOSPHERE;;: So when i walk in, it's like walking into heaven, the environment is so beautiful and then one of my favorites was right in the waiting area..FOOD! i was like wow. SERVICE; HAIR STYLING;;: So like 5 minutes into waiting this wonderful woman named Carrie came in. Like after talking to her for 10 minutes i felt as if she were my best friend. lol. So i tell her my dilema and she just sat me down and did amazing works. lol. i didn't really care what she did. All i asked for was an updo. Like she'll do whatever you want but i just said do what you want and it was like a miracle. Idk if i was so excited because it was my first time or what. Like normal girls are so excited for prom but not me...i was just like eh..whatever... Well carrie! She made me excited. like not to sound cocky but i was like i can not wait to show off my look! SERVICE;MAKE-UP:;; Then we were talking and she told me she was a professional make-up artist. So when she said that i was like wow thats kool. Well i don't wear make-up....ever. lol so this was also something new. So she sits me down in the chair and goes into another world. There was a crowd behind her like she was doing a trick. : ] so after doing my make-up, oh my gosh guys i could not stop looking at myself. lol. serously Carrie made me conceited for a little while! lol. ALL OF THEM;;; But it wasn't just Carrie; all of the stylists there became my friends. It was like a big playground. But filled with professional hair stylists lol. AMAZING PRODUCT:;; Anyways Carrie introduces me to this conditioner called Tea Tree. It's suppose to help with like split ends and dry scalp which unfortunately i have (don't laugh). But I went home and tried it...... You guys my hair...omg it was night and day. My scalp felt like amazing. like tingly almost. POST-VISIT;;;; MY hair is so much more manageable now. I really can't tell you guys how great Destenee Hair Salon is until you go experience it yourself! MY MOM;; Anyways I wasn't the only one being pampered. MY mother has terminal cancer, unlike most cancer hers puts her in 24 hour 7 days a week pain. Well she went to this lady there and my mom was in aw. haha. Like she felt so good comin outta there. WHich is a relief for us because we hate seeing her in pain.. EXTRA;; .I'm mad it took me four years up in NC to find this place but hey...i found it and i'm glad. I received a referral from a friend that had a massage from Destenee Salon and Spa and they told me to see Brittany. All I could say was WOW when I left the spa. I was greeted with nothing but smiles and didn't have to wait at all. The massage experience was amazing, I have traveled all over the world and have received massages from some of the best resorts, but when I got a massage from Brittany it was the best I have ever had. Not only was it relaxing, but it had a therapeutic twist to it. Brittany also educated me on some areas that I was having problems with in my back and shoulders. I think these guys are trying to make their salon seem like a real upscale establishment, when really, they are just an average salon with huge prices and a big ego. A few months ago I went for color because I needed to change salons, and I was warned that Bobbi's prices "start at $95" for color. That was Ok because I've had bad colorists before, and I knew Bobbi was the owner. I wanted someone with good experience and not a young intern! I ended up needing corrective color before she could give me the new color I requested, and nothing else was mentioned about price. The whole process took five hours (I kid you not) and it cost over 500.00. I realize that corrective color, new color with highlights, and a trim and blowdry will add up, but seriously, this isn't NY or LA! It's Chapel Hill, and they are not in a swanky location by any means. After I got over the sticker shock, I figured at least I had a new color and style that I liked. It didn't last long. After a few shampoos, my expensive new color was coming out all over my towels, and my hair had faded to a weird, brassy color in no time. I called to ask what Paul Mitchell colors were used, and I was told that it was a formula Bobbi created just for me and she would not be giving it away. So I had to go back to her to redo my color, and it cost another 160 bucks and took 2.5 hours! I will not be going back. They are really nice and attentive, but I just can't afford such outrageous prices, and I can't spend so much time in the chair and leaving without being satisfied. I just got back from a massage at Destenee, and it was wonderful. I had Brittany, and I highly recommend her. I actually created an account just so I could review her. I'm going to book my sister a massage for her birthday present, and I'm going to specifically book it with Brittany. She is young and puts you at ease right away. She worked out the knots in my shoulders and I can't believe how much better I feel. I will definitely be back. Like many guys, I frequented the Great Clips and Super Cuts of the world for the last 10 years. I thought that spending 25 bucks on a haircut was crazy...boy was I wrong. My wife finally convinced me to come in and I must say that it was great advice! I got a shampoo/scalp massage, beverages while I waited, good conversation, and a great cut for 25 bucks. I won't be going back to Great Clips any time soon! Pros: Friendly service, good conversation, great cut Cons: Had to wait a few minutes more

I just went to Destenee Salon and Spa earlier this week. Cody did my hair it it turned out great! I have never had highlights so I was a little worried but Cody talked with me before doing anything and we came up with something I would like and I was so happy with the results. I also had Cody cut my hair. I have been trying to grow out my hair for a few months now and Cody snipped off about a 1/2 inch just to give my hair a healthy look and I have never been happie! I had been looking for a new salon. I found destenee salon on citysearch and decided to give it a shot. My haircut and color are simple and I wanted basically a similar look to what I had. I walked away with a really bad highlights and worse haircut. I asked for a trim and got about 5-6 inches taken off. Worse than that I paid $240.00 and I'm not sure for what. I came back and looked at the prices on the website again and tried to figure out why I was charged so much but I still can't. My haircut and highlight also took about 5 hours; it usually take about 1.5-2 hours max elsewhere. The shamoo experience was also just painful. The guy who washed my hair was trying to massage my hair but he kept squeezing my head too hard and I ended up with a headache instead. Pros: Nice Salon atmosphere Cons: Service more

There are two types of salons as I see it. There are the arrogant ones that will let you tell them what you want. Then they do what they want anyway and when you are horrified at the results, they will charge you anyway. Of course, your dissatisfaction is completely your own doing and they are obviously not responsible. They tell you, “You didn’t communicate what you wanted.” Or “You’ll love it when you get used to it.” or “You just never will be happy.” This was my experience at another, so called High End Chapel Hill Salon. Destenee, I am happy to say falls in the other category. After the travesty that was my previous experience, I called and made an appointment. I asked for the absolute best and the gentleman replied that Bobbie, the owner, was the absolute best. He informed me that her prices were a little more than the norm, but well worth it. I went in expecting to meet the most arrogant stylist I have ever met, but what I met was the sweetest, most sincere stylist. I told Bobbie my story and she looked at my hair. I expected her to tell me what a horrible job it was, but she did not even mention the disaster. Instead, she declined the opportunity to pummel her competition and offered to me what she could do to help me achieve my desired style. She did my hair perfectly, the man that booked the appointment was right, worth EVERY penny. I believe that too often good service is overlooked. I refuse to overlook Bobbie and her fabulous salon. I have been getting my hair done by Hamza for about six months and LOVE it. I love the salon, all the staff, and my hair. Hamza is friendly, outgoing, and very honest with me about what he feels would be best and most healthiest for my hair. We laugh together, exchange stories, and have a great time! I will NEVER go anywhere else for my hair. Destenee's Salon and Spa is wonderful. more
