Designer Dog

Kristi has been grooming our family's dogs since the 1980s--we wouldn't take them to anyone else! Designer Dog is wonderful. Located in the heart of downtown Wooster, it's clean and affordable. It's a no-frills facility--there's no retail or doggie daycare--but the grooms are top-notch. Kristi has been grooming since the 1970s, and she's a master groomer, certified through the National Dog Groomers Association of America. Jan has been grooming for nearly as long. We love visiting Designer Dog. Kristi's enormous Irish wolfhound Gaelen (she's had three since she opened the shop back in 1995--can't imagine her without one) always greets us at the door, and Jan's doberman pinschers Sarah and Laser are never far behind. Our two cats even came from Designer Dog's cat-foster program. Highly recommended--no bones about it. more

I run a 501-C-3 dog rescue organization in Wooster called Star-Mar Rescue. Some of the dogs that I receive in rescue are in dire need of grooming. We've taken both our Chocolate lab and our Bischon to Designer Dog for quite some time. Both groomers are easy to work with and very accommodating. We take the lab to get bathed because he requires a long soak with the medicated shampoo and they can him restrained for the necessary time. They also clip his thick nails for $5 each time we visit. We take our Bischon there because they seem to treat the animals with more care. Good service, nice people, affordable rates.
