Best restored furniture from the 40's 2/22/2008

The owner of this shop takes meticulous personal care in the restoration of furniture from the 1940s and 1950s. Restoration work is outstanding. The wood finishes are gleaming and the integrity of the originals is given the utmost attention. The owner personally delivers many purchases. Shop is always filled as well with knickknacks from the period. As a frequent customer, I recommend the high quality of work and reasonable prices at this exceptional store. more

Fabulous 1930s and 1940s Furniture at great prices 1/24/2008

Depression Modern sells beautifully restored 1930s and some 1940s furniture at excellent prices. A number of celebrities, including Whoopi Goldberg, have waited dutifully on line on Saturday mornings for the noon opening with a new lot of furniture. Bring coffee, a bagel, and your checkbook (or cash), and hang out from at least 11am in front of the store. The vast majority of the furniture sells within the first 10 minutes after the noon opening. Swing by during the week to see what you could have bought!\r \r The owner, Michael, provdies excellent service and delivers the furniture free of charge later that week. This is a terrific store with one-of-a-kind vintage furniture. A must see. more
