Defensive Driving School

Great driving class and really has opened my view on driving... Instructor Gayan is a great teacher and would recommend him more

My daughter had used Defensive Driving School once before, then I used them for a written and driving test. The instructors were expedient, courteous and complete. I don't have any other company or prices to compare them to, but I think everything was reasonable. I would recommend them to others who are in search or in need of a traffic, safety school. more

I took classes from south everett driving school. The instructor Tyson Williams is a wonderful person so dedicated and passionate towards teaching new students. He is an amazing instructor and I rate him 10/10. more

I just finished the class a little under a month ago. I had Jordan Kohagen for the classroom portion. He is really nice and really knows what he is teaching. He cares about your learning experience and tries to help you do well. I have also sat in the back of his car, a 2013 Honda Civic, for observations which is super nice. I'm halfway done with my drives. I've had Jason Pierce so far for my drives. He's really nice and puts a lot of effort into making the drives fun, yet educational. He also has a really good sense of humor to help your anxiety go down. He also has a really nice car. A 2015 ford fusion. Comfortable and easy to drive. Since I live up in this area, I have to call the lake Stevens office if I need anything. I have called them once to ask if they could show that my drives have been completed online. Very good at explaining things to you when you need a question answered. Also very fast at getting your requests for scheduling things like drives or tests. Also, very flexible to make things work with your schedule. There's only one con. If you take the class in the summer, especially at this location, drive times will fill up quite fast due to many people taking the class and living in the area. As soon as you start the class, schedule your drives. You don't want to end up with very little time slot choices if you wait. I also highly recommend doing more then one observation to help you learn what to expect/environment in the car. Overall, very good driving school. Expensive, but worth the money to take it at this location. Would recommend this to anyone. NOTE: only teen classes at this location more

My first lesson was yesterday at the Benson Highway location and I really enjoyed it. The instructor Mr. Goyom was very precise and helpful.. I felt comfortable and confident learning skills behind the wheel.. with him. more

My instructor Gayan has taught me the fundamentals of driving as well as helping me out in one on one drives. I would recommend anyone wanting to learn how to drive to sign up for a class with Gayan! more

Consumers Beware: I totally get that as a consumer I am not important to you! I really thought that would not be the case when I opted to use your over priced school over the less expensive options available in the area as I am a believer in you get what you pay for. You officially have proven me wrong! I figured after my older daughter attended a few years back the return business would be met with at least some sort of gratitude. I however see that my return business was not appreciated at all. You got the additional $650.00 and $535.00 for my current two children. You also got the $90.00 rescheduling fee from the children's dad today. The $115.00 extra for the oldest child is just padding for your pockets since it was an accident on my end when I enrolled him but please keep it as I am sure you can find a loop hole for that as well...but just know I will make sure my nearly 2000 Facebook friends as well as anyone I talk to understands your company is about policy, bottom line and money and is not about the student or consumer. Remember I offered to pay the 60.00 rescheduling fee over the phone yesterday since I made the mistake...so this is over $30.00 on your end. (That and the 115.00 over charge since child one got nothing more than child two) as a mother of 6 you will not be getting anymore business from this family. You may want to rethink your policy on how you both contact and treat customers. Just because I have 2 children in your course only 1 driver was affected by the missed drive which I took full responsibility for and still do! Hope the additional 30.00 was worth it. more

I have a 20 year old son with autism. I made the instructors aware before classes started. If you are familiar with autism, you will know that it is more of a communication disorder than a learning disorder. I was allowed to observe what they were teaching, then re-enforce and sometimes explain in a different manner for him to understand. He probably had to work much harder than other students, and I had to be very involved to ensure his success. He passed both the state test (92% on both) and got his license today. We never had problems scheduling drives. Scheduling state tests was very easy as well. Thank you Scott and Christina! more

Defensive Driving School in Kent Bensonn Hwy is a great school. I've learned so much and the classes are easy, especially when you have the greatest teacher. Mr. Gayan is a great teacher , very knowledgeable and fun too. My whole course was fun never boring, defensive driving school also guarantees you that your kid will be trusted on the road when driving. I've learned so much from the school and I am improving on becoming a better driver. Take my advice as a student, your kids will enjoy and learn a lot from Defensive Driving School. Shout out to Mr. Gayan for being a wonderful teacher/ mentor. more

They don't allow you to check for the available time slots before making a payment and when I did make the payment, I saw that there was no time slots available for next 20 days and they say that the amount is non-refundable. This is extremely unprofessional. I suggest that one should avoid this driving school until they change this policy of forcing payment without showing the available timeslots. more

this class has been great all the materials you need to know are in the packet they give you! My instructor Gayan knows what he is doing and how to help each student. He will repeat things or go more into explaining them if a student does not understand he wants to make sure all of us pass. Overall the class has been great I have made many new friends and feel confident in my driving skills and knowledge of the road. more
