love this place 1/27/2010

i would like to take the time just to write a positive thing about a place that takes care of everything that i bring. My mother had given me her sweater that she had worn in college everyday. For me, to recieve this was very exciting. my mother doesnt have a lot of belongings from her past and for her to give me one of her favorite things meant alot to me. i do remember some old looking stains on it and wanted to have it cleaned so i could wear it. so i took it to the only place i would trust. i know many people who use dee and hattie and hear all their stories. so i thought why not. i brought it and was told all the risks of course but everyone was very kind and listened to my story of the sweater. they were very patient with me. when i picked up my sweater it was perfect. i was so excited to be able to wear it and enjoy just a little of my mother's history. so thank you dee and hattie. i love my sweater. Pros: very honest more

GREAT CLEANERS 1/27/2010

i've been a loyal customer for 5+ years. they have had consistently great service and products for years. the customer service ladies are always so sweet and are very knowledgeable. the other reviews on here are just crazy for not loving dee and hattie's work. they have done everything from my every day clothes to my wedding gown and husbands tuxedos. they can do everything. they restored my granmothers 95 year old christening gown and it looked gorgeous. keep up the great work dee and hattie's. Pros: amazing cleaners, great prices, a+ more

Not My Fault Cleaners 10/1/2009

I took my tux in for it's second cleaning. I had only worn it three times and it was less than two years old. I picked it up and left it in Dee & Hatties original wrapper, tissue paper, etc.. It hung in my closet for awhile and I had another wedding to attend. I had lost weight so I took it to a very reputable taylor to be altered. After taking it out of the plastic the taylor noticed poor pressing on one side of the front and a small worn spot on the back of the jacket. The taylor said it appeared to be dry cleaner damage from a scrape from a button or zipper or something like that from another garment in the cleaning drum. I took the jacket to Dee & Hatties and was immediately told that it was moth larva damage. I said we have never had moth damage. The man there then looked at it outside and said he had a very good weaver and he would have her look at it. The lady kept saying moth larva damage and that all their garments are secured and this could not happen at their cleaners. A few weeks later the garment came back from the weaver and it was not moth larva damage. The lady at Dee & Hatties basically blew me off, said I must have caused it. I reminded her that she could not watch every garment being cleaned and I had to have my tux jacket and a suit jacket repressed because the presser did not use a board. She wanted to accept no responsibility at all. I called Brooks Brothers to ask how much it would cost to replace the jacket and they advised me I could only replace the entire tux. Cost: $1,600.00. I filed a complaint with the appropriate business services in Dallas who did a good job following up. Dee & Hatties responded by still not showing any responsibility and offering me to split some depreciated value of about $350.00. Frankly I did not want the money but I replied that if they would pay $500 I would consider the matter closed. They basically said take me to court. I would not have taken the $500 either as really all I wanted them to do was accept some responsibility and quite blaming everyone else. Dee & Hatties charges three to four times what a standard cleaner charges and most of their work is the same. On high end items they are know for doing a good job but beware because if something goes wrong they do not like to accept responsibility and will run you around. That is my experience anyway. They will now lose several thousand dollars in cleaning fees over the next few years. Had they shown some responsibility in the beginning, perhaps offered a couple of hundred dollars in cleaning credit and refunded what I paid to have my tux cleaned I would have been more than satisfied and with issued would have not become an issue. Pros: Easy access. Nice looking place Cons: Do not accept responsibility-Believe their own press more

There's more to the story 9/15/2008

We here at Dee & Hattie take our responsibility as a premiere Dallas drycleaner seriously. We like to take responsibility for our actions, both because it's good business and it keeps us responsive to our customers. However, we expect a lot from garment manufacturers as well. In this case, the black fabric sewn into the white jacket was not color-fast to process as indicated on the label (both handwashing and drycleaning were recommended). Be that as it may, we are remanufacturing this garment for our customer. The white has been made white again, and we are using color-fast black fabric. We believe that she will be happy with the finished result when we send it to her. Pros: High quality of work, convenient drive through more

WARNING...you will never see your clothes in it's original condition 6/27/2008

I went to Dee & Hattie after reading an article in the Daily Candy who claimed they are the dry cleaners to be trusted in Dallas for your high-end clothing. So, I brought my designer and couture clothing to Dee & Hattie and they stood by their status for a little over 2 years. After paying my loyalty for the past 2 years, their cleaning quality and customer service has dropped to the nastiest pit. I have lost my trust in this company. I brought a nice pristine white blazer for them to dry clean and they destroyed it. Not only did the white blazer turn dark gray but they also ended up washing the jacket (without my consent), which made it shrink. Imagine having your white bridal gown rolled in the sewer. Pros: The place looks nice and fancy. Cons: Will not admit to damage or reimburse for damage. more

Best Cleaners in town...incredibly nice folks as well!!! 5/16/2008

As a frequent (constant) traveler, I am always in the need of a great dry cleaner. Dee & Hattie has been a blessing to me, my schedule and my clothing! On a recent trip, I went through a flash flood and most of my clothing was damaged or incredibly soiled due to the muddy water. The folks at Dee & Hattie carefully inspected my clothing and devised a plan to solve my clothing dilemma! Beyond the call of duty. Pros: conveniece, service, friendliness more
