Scrumptious and Fresh 6/28/2011

Whenever I?m in this area and doing some major shopping, I love coming here for a quick bite to eat. Although sometimes it?s not that quick because a lot of people go here, it?s still my ?go to? place. Everything not only looks delicious here but also taste really excellent as well. It?s definitely something I couldn?t afford to do everyday, but maybe once a month or more, I splurge a little, and I?m so delighted when I do. \r \r I could be really picky with fruit. If it?s not in a clean place I won?t consider having any. Everything is so clean and fresh looking. The desserts are so scrumptious too. Their sandwiches, desserts (which sometimes are from other places), fruit, and even their coffee are all delicious. It?s definitely a place to stop by even if you are a tourist because you could try things from other places all in this one place. \r \r I can?t wait until the next time I go to this place. Mmmmm? what will I get? The cheeses are delicious too more

Dean & Deluca: substandard smoked salmon 1/7/2009

I consider myself to be a very good judge of quality gourmet products. Got a shipment of smoked salmon for christmas which was substandard by any any accounts. Guests barely touched it. Texture was mushy, color was neon orange, flavor was flat. My usual haunts are Zabars, Barney Greengrass, Russ & daughters, etc, so I think I am a reliable judge. more

Stay with Starbucks! 4/20/2008

I went to the store, ordered and espresso, waited while at least 5 other customers who were behind me in the que received their drinks. When I inquired about my beverage, was treated to a scowl finally what appeared to be leftover espresso! Never going back and telling all my friends. Pros: Good location, clean Cons: Poor service, poor quality more

Pure delight 2/25/2005

If I lived in NY I'd want to shop here all the time! However, I think the prices would probably cause me to go bankrupt but I'd sure be in culinary heaven. Everything from the baked goods to the deli foods is mouth watering. The place gets a little too crowded so at times it was tough to navigate through the aisles. There's no place to sit down so if you want to eat some of your food you'll have to stand at the counter along with the numerous other friendly patrons. more

food lovers' Mecca 12/11/2004

If I could give a 11/10, I would. Yes, it's expensive, but good stuff comes with a price. But I would say, with this kind of service, atmosphere, and quality, I don't mind paying an arm and a leg. Simply spectacular. The cakes and cookies are so pretty that I almost feel bad eating it. Choices for meat and deli are wonderful. The best is, no matter how crazy you want to go, they will fulfill your indulgence: caviar, truffles, foie gras, exotic spices, fresh juices...you name it, they have it. the only cons: the shoppers. This place is often crowded with snobbish, unfriendly shoppers -- especially when you are in front of them in the deli line. more

OVERPRICED 1/14/2003

Not too many places still serve small coffee in 8oz. cups. This place does, and they charge almost as much as Starbucks for 12oz cup. The taste...... definitely not worth the money. Pros: the deserts look good Cons: very expensive more

LOVED THE COFFEE,PERFECT 12/2/2002

I AM SO USE TO GETTING STRONG COFFEE WHEN I AM AWAY FROM HOME, BUT THIS COFFEE WAS PERFECT, DID NOT HAVE TO ""MILK IT DOWN"" TASTED VERY FRESH EACH DAY I GOT IT. more

what a joke! 10/19/2002

the prices at this place are ludicrous. I can get the same quality produce at numerous locales for much less! more

Good coffee, no decor, just coffee. 10/14/2002

No decor, tables cluttered, but good coffee. Good location, just off the square. more

Simply perfect! 8/6/2002

Beautifully displayed and prepared foods, wonderful housewares, and incredible produce! I could imagine shopping here for everything if I had the salary it would take to live in Manhattan... Service is excellent. I had some things shipped home and a housewares item that hadn't been inspected before shipping was defective. It took a few calls to get someone who could authorize having UPS pick it up, but it all worked out and everyone was very nice. more

Excellent! 6/26/2002

Everything is so fresh and so good! All kinds of delicacies. Very Italian! more

New Yorkers are spoiled! 6/4/2002

I loved everything about the store. The food and products, and service. Great coffee too, and I'm from Seattle. Pros: food, variety Cons: price more
