Dax & Lindsay: Thermal Reconditioning Specialists

I have had several thermal reconditionings in different salons in the past eight years, but none of them have come close to the incredible job Dax and Lindsay have done with my hair. They took a strand test of my hair and determined the exact percentage of chemical solution to use with my hair in order to get the smoothest results. I am very happy with the results and I think Dax and Lindsay are the Bay Area's best kept secret in thermal reconditioning. Besides the great results, they significantly cut down the time of the process by working together with two sets of tools like a well-oiled machine (a five-hour process turns out to take 2.5 hours). I cannot say enough about my experience with them, but I hope my review will encourage people to try them out for their thermal reconditioning and maybe one day the standards for this complicated process will become higher and this would be good for all of us! I have been seeing Lindsay and Dax for my thermal for several years and I will NEVER go to anyone else! If they were to move to the North Pole, I would travel there twice a year for my thermal because they are THAT good! My hair is always SO beautiful and soft, no breakage or damage whatsoever and everyone compliments me on my hair!! With them working as a team, the LONG process of a thermal is done in half the time AND you get the added benefit of hanging out with 2 REALLY cool people for a few hours. I LOVE Lindsay and Dax and can't recommend them enough :) Pros: Flexible scheduling, convenient parking, FUN environment, SUPER professional! I've had 3 thermals done by Lindsay, with the 3rd one assisted by Dax. I'll be following them whereever they go...they are perfectionists and are eager to please the customer. They perform a strand test to make sure that your hair is compatible with the treatment -- this can be a problem for some hair that has been chemically treated. My first thermal was a perfect waist-length, pin-straight thermal. My 2nd and 3rd were shorter length, partial thermals because I wanted more of my natural look with but with less volume. I get the best of both worlds and am always happy with the results. It's a long process, but time passes quickly with fun conversation and/or reading material, whatever suits you. Their locations in SF and Berkeley make it totally worth it to take the day off, get your hair done, and then enjoy the city. Pros: Service, results, location more

Dax and Lindsay are truly awesome!! Ive followed them around to 3 salons because they do an incredible job with my thermals. Both of them are thorough and patient and on top of that- they are lots of fun to be around (which is important since its a several hour process)!!! Dax & Lindsay now have their own great space. I experienced complete panic when I called their former salon for an appointment and was told they were no longer there. So I did the only thing I could and tracked them down! They truly care about their customers and deliver the very best results. They are the only ones to see for thermal reconditioning. more

My hair was shiny, smooth and completely straight! Dax and Lindsay are extremely talented, professional and have an meticulous attention to detail. In addition to their talents with hair, it is so refreshing to meet two people who are so friendly and down to earth. They are not pretentious and make it very relaxing to be with them. If you are going to spend four hours at a hair salon, you best go to people that you'll like going to. Dax and Lindsay tag team to make your thermal go faster. They are annal retentive perfectionist in the best sense of the term. No frizz goes unthermaled. Lindsey is a haircutting genius goddess. The music is hip. The magazines trashy. The decor groovey. It may cost a little more, but it will last a lot longer, look better, and you'll have fun. If you're thinking of going straight, go to the best. You're probably worth it. I know I am.
