I visited Davi's yesterday for the first time. Actually went there to use the range and discovered it was closed months ago. The staff were all very courteous and knowledgeable, the store is well stocked but I felt the prices were a little high. I'm perplexed at the complaints about rude staff. Certainly the staff working yesterday were quite the opposite. Some of their store policies are a little hard to accept such as if you purchase a pistol from them and find it doesn't operate correctly, you, the purchaser, must pay the shipping charges back to the manufacturer. For this reason I would be hesitant about purchasing a new pistol from Davi's. Pros: Staff, selection Cons: Range closed, high prices, return policies more

After shopping all over town, I finally bought at Davi's. Glad I didn't read the reviews here first! \r \r Based on my experience, all I can say is they have the best selection in Wake County by far (I've heard you have to drive to Fayetteville to match their selection), their prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. more

Before going to Davi's this past weekend, I had read the reviews here and had some preconceived notions as to what to expect. Well, they were WRONG! Uncertain about others who have recently shopped at Davi's, but I had excellent customer service. The sales associate who assisted me was friendly, patient and highly knowledgeable. Even, the woman who checked me out was immensely social and friendly. As a woman shopping for 2 handguns, I really could not suggest another gun store to purchase from in Raleigh. I live outside of Raleigh and my local gun store (I?m also a ange member there) isn't half as friendly as the folks at Davi's. Too bad Davi's closed their Range---I would have driven 45 minutes to use their facilities if still operational! Also, Davi's had great prices on their expansive selection of firearms. Davi's has a really large selection. The prices aren't the best but they are not outrageous. What really KILLS any hope of a good experience at Davi's is the staff. They are absolutely the worst staff I have ever dealt with at a gun shop. And that is really saying something considering gun shops don't have a sterling reputation for quality customer service... Davi's gun range is closed. Is the gun shop soon to follow? Bad management has allowed surly and rude employees to run away good paying customers. It is too bad, as the range physical facility is excellent. \r \r I teach CCH and am an NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle and Shotgun instructor and used to take students there. It was sad to watch the decline that has led to the range closure.\r \r Davi's has never been the low cost leader in gun prices, and with friendlier, more knowledgible and lower cost competition around, I am afraid their days are numbered. I frequent Davi's and plan to continue even though they closed the range. The staff in knowledgeable and friendly and very helpful. I do see reviews saying the staff is rude, but the only time I've seen the staff act rudely was with a rude customer. So if you want good service and a friendly atmosphere, check your bad attitude at the door because they WILL give you an attitude right back in return for yours. Pros: Knowledgable and friendly staff, huge selection of guns and knives Cons: Prices are a little higher than shops that fit in walk in closets, but that's overhead for you. After coming here once, I will never return. The staff was very rude, lied about local laws to prevent me from making a magazine purchase, and seemed completely ignorant. PDHSC is far superior to this store. Pros: Has a rifle range Cons: Ignorant, lying, and rude staff. more

Davi's is one of the best deals I have come across. A little pricy on the rentals but they do carry a wide selection of pistols to try out and they keep them fairly clean. more
