Excellent, competent, gentle, great staff 12/22/2011

I've been going to Dr. Meeker for 7 years. He is fair, will not recommend unnecessary procedures. Very gentle. I have never had apprehension in the dental chair. He happens to be a classical pianist, which may make his touch more gentle. The staff is wonderful, enjoyable. I can say I do not dread going to the dentist since I have been going to him. Highly recommended. more

Small practice - won't treat you like a number 9/27/2010

Great dentist and hygienists- they take the time to get to know you and are sincere and trustworthy. I have been with them for 8 years. I reluctantly had to change dentists recently due to a change in my insurance - I went somewhere new and had a horrible experience (Shapiro Family Dentistry). I called Dr. Meeker and he spent time with me on the phone listening to my story and offered to see me to look at the x-rays and discuss my concerns - even offered to provide some service at no fee. Shapiro Family Dentistry charges you just for walking in the door. Many have commented on the "old-fashioned" office... I don't think that has anything to do with quality. I was recently in a "slick" dentist office w/slate floors and granite counters (guess who). The customer service was horrible and they seemed to just be out to make a buck. I prefer the unpretentious and honest practice of Dr. Meeker. more

Old fashioned 8/21/2005

He has a small office near the Norton Museum. It reminds me of the dental office I used to take my daughters to when they were young; the chair with the overhead lamp, and the water fountain-looking thing where you get water and then spit. Most dentists I've been to these days don't have you spit into that thing; they have that suction thing in your mouth so if you're numb, you don't spit on yourself. Dr.Meeker's office looks that old. He's a really nice dentist and he has just as nice a staff, but I think he cuts corners here and there. I went to him a few months ago and he told me not to spend a lot of money of my teeth (the bottom ones really hurt me), but when I went to another dentist for a second opinion, I was told that I should get work done very soon. I appreciate Dr. Meeker trying to save me money (at least I think that's what he was doing), but I need my teeth! I want them to look good so when I smile I'm not embarassed. Overall he's a good dentist, but for major work, I'd seek a second opinion. more

Not sure of the branch of dentistry... 8/8/2005

I went to Dr. Meeker before I found the dentist I currently go to. Very nice, nice receptionist as well, but I found that his office was outdated. He still had the old school way of rinsing your mouth: giving you a little cup so you can spit into that mini toilet-looking bowl with your half frozen face. It's a nice location though; right across from the Norton Museum, but parking get be a problem.....there's barely any. more
