I really like this place, not sure of why others have panned it. Consistently good place, and I order fried scallops often! Friendly folks, decent prices. You'll be hard pressed to find a better chicken quesidilla elsewhere! I watch sports often and have NEVER seen a game show on. Eh, sometimes places have off days! Love it!! As a military reservist who serves frequently at the Naval War College in nearby Newport, RI, I make Dave's Bar & Grille a routine stop when I fly into T.F. Green -- a mere Keven Youkilis homerun away from Dave's. I've always found Dave's to have EXCELLENT service, great beer on tap, delectable food in a real neighborhood atmosphere. While on a trip we went to Daves as listed by the hotel as a nearby restaurant. Let's start with the service, horrible. Years ago I was a server so I know what it takes to be good. The girl I had was not good, in fact she was miserable! I had my bad mood days but I checked that at door and made my guests feel welcomed and taken care of. This is the first time EVER I actually was forced to stiff a waitress. I ordered fried sea scallops, they were greasey and mushy, really gross. And finally, there is a Red Sox / Yankees game on and the screen in front of me has The Wheel of Fortune on....are you kidding me?? Solve this puzzle... BAD EXP_RI_NCE. Yet another Tomasso establishment with a balding bitchboy as a front owner. When will this town drop this cancer? The food, looks and tastes cheap so don't go in expecting a steak. I CANT TELL YOU HOW THE FOOD IS OR THE MUSIC OR THE CROWD BECAUSE I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT STAY AND EAT. MY WIFE ANDI WERE ASKED TO LEAVE BECAUSE MY SHIRT DID NOT HAVE SLEEVES. Dave's is great, though the daytime crowd is families and older people, the after 10ers are usually 20somethings, the service is great and there are always a few attractive people hanging around. The live music is great (Cliff Meyers) although it can sometimes be a bit loud... Thanksgiving weekend is always packed, and I am looking forward to being there this year... The Dave (Owner) and his crew make you feel right at home. The daily food specials are great and good for the budget. Daily drink specials will always have one of your favorites listed. I travel a lot and I am always looking for a good place to eat and watch my home team play. If the game is not on one of the many TVs, no problem! Just ask Dave or one of the great crew members and they'll do everything possible to get your home team on one of the TVs. I look forward to the next visit.
