I rented a piano from Dave's last week for a conference. The service on the phone was fantastic...very nice man. I was given a very reasonable quote for the rental, delivery and tuning. However, after arriving at the site for the conference, to find the instrument had not yet been delivered, I called Dave's a total of 6 times with no response.
I finally received a phone call at 3:30pm - 3 1/2 hours after the instrument was supposed to be delivered and 15 minutes after the beginning of a rehearsal for which it was needed. I was told that the instrument would be in by 4. But rather than get an apology, I got an...""oh I didn't know what time you needed the instrument""...response and further, was asked if I had a check for full payment ready upon delivery - now scheduled 4 hours late.
Unfortunately, Dave's is gaining quite the reputation for this kind of behavior. Against my better judgment and some suggestions, I chose to use Dave's because they were, apparently, the only ones in the area. Next time I'll haul my own piano up 1-75 to Tampa.
