Watch Out... 5/28/2014

My experience in the beginning was great, it was once I pulled off the car lot that I realized it was a big mistake. The mistake was not buying the Toyota Camry, it was buying it from Dave Edwards Toyota. Toyota has a college rebate program that is advertised on their website, Dave Edwards seems to know nothing about this and told me that I would need to contact Toyota Finance directly after I purchased the car, in order to take advantage of the rebate. This information came directly from Steve McQueen, the manager. Once I contacted Toyota they told me that this was to be done at the dealership and had to be included in my contract and that at this point it was too late. This meant that I lost out on $750. The next problem was the salesperson Tracy Crisp, the car was $18,900, it was even written on the windshield. When the buyers agreement was presented to me it said $18,995, I was told by Tracy that the $95 would be removed. In the midst of the whole day, it slipped by me and I left. more

I saw the ad on Dave Edwards Toyota website and I have attached it to this email. I went to buy this Toyota Camry as advertised. I was all excited to get this new car as my car is pretty old. The salesman: Chris Edlund came out and I showed him the ad. He said that he could not go any lower on that price as it is a "special deal". He showed me the car and everything was going good and he called the other salesman to appraise my trade-in. About 10 mins later he comes out and tells me that there has been a mistake in the ad and they did not mean to put that ad in the paper and it was another car that they meant to put in the ad. He then proceeded to show me a blue car which was a very stripped down version of this car. I said to him that the ad clearly states that the car is red and nicely equipped. He said his manager told him that it was a mistake. This red car was actually going to be $22,085 after taking in my trade-in. I am very upset with this kind of dishonest behaviour and Dave E more

Bad 3/12/2011

On March 11th, 2011 I initiated a TrueCar price quote for a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE for zip code 29681, and came up with a price quote for $13,273 for Dave Edwards Toyota in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I got a call from Dave Edwards Toyota within 2 hours and spoke to Dave Listul, who is an internet salesman at the dealership. Dave told me on March 11th they had one 2010 Toyota Corolla LE left, and we agreed upon $14,322 for the out the door price including all fees and taxes. I told Dave I'd be in the next morning to buy it (we spokeabout this at around 6:45 PM, the dealership closes at 7:30PM, but I called again at 7:28PM to ask what time I could come in). Since Sparanburg is about a 30 minute drive, I decided it would be best to wait till the morning and ensure the dealership wouldn't close before I got there. The next morning, Saturday March 12,2011, I arrived at Dave Edwards Toyota at around 9:30, only an hour after they open. I walked into the dealership building, and asked for Da more

Dave Edwards Toyota is a lemon 10/28/2009

I bought a truck from Dave Edwards Five months ago it has now been in for repair 16 times yes 16 and still not fixed they even striped a bolt on my steering knuckel and instead of replacing it they held it together with WIRE! Eric Rowlman Sales mang. Said, "its not our fault it keeps breaking. it is just like if you bought it down the street form your nieghbor he is not going to buy it back. If you wanted a truck that does not break you should of bought a new one." I bought a warranty to protect me from repairs but they refused to keep fixing the same problems. the BBB helped me get the dealership to pay for the repairs. They sold me a warranty on a truck that could not be warranted becacuse of aftermarket parts that were on the truck when i bought it. All so I found out that there Was Odometer Fruad! and my truck has 10% more miles on it than what it reads. ALSO i found 23 of the 160 point ASE inspection that was falseified that would of cause this truck not to pass the ASE cer more

sad sad thing 9/5/2005

we bought a vehicle from them, needless to say it constantly needs work. It was used, and sold to us at a decent price, what we didn't know is they neglected to reveal that it had a major defect, one that rendered it inoperable less than 30 days after we bought it. We were told they would do right by us and fix it, but then after it was fixed they wanted us to pay for it. And it was not completely fixed and broke down once more. I give up on this place I will NEVER recommend them to anyone...and to think I thought so highly of them and went there on recommendation from several friends. more
