In ShortThis rambling hotel boasts some walls that date back to the 1700s. As much as possible, its owners highlight original features, including exposed brick, cypress and pine beams and stone fireplaces. Furnishings in the 14 patio rooms and 97 standard rooms feature polished-wood headboards on the king-sized beds and armoires. The Audubon Room, a meeting area, showcases John James Audubon's "Birds of America" series. Complimentary afternoon tea and a lending library are offered.
