Daphne Larger Sizes

"I bought 2 tops that pilled badly after the first two wears and washes on gentle cycle. I called and explained the situation to a sales person, who immediately accused me of not caring for the tops properly, made the excuse that no one else had complained, and told me that I could ship them the tops to be inspected and they would make a decision if they were defective or not. At the price point of over $100 each, I don't expect to incur shipping charges to return defective merchandise when I'm not even guaranteed a refund! 6 months later, I got a promotional email from Daphne and I decided to let them know why I wouldn't be shopping there ever again. I emailed an explanation and she replied, saying the exact same thing that the initial person had told me and that she would take me off their mailing list. Clearly Daphne and her staff do not stand behind their clothing and are more interested in short-term profit than building long-term relationships with customers. Had this issue been handled fairly, I would have purchased many more items because I do like their clothes. Now Nordstrom will be getting my business because they know how to treat their customers. more

Daphne's is a great local plus-size oasis in a sea of clothes that only fit the tiniest of bodies. Daphne, the owner, is friendly and willing to help out by tailoring items as well as creating garments special order. She made my wedding outfit as well as that of my partner. They carry a wide selection of dressy clothes as well as some more informal items. They always have a healthy collection of the popular brand Flax. They carry some rather exotic jackets, and have an assortment of accessories as well. The prices can range a bit high, but given the dearth of options for full figured gals, this is a welcome addition to an otherwise fine neighborhood. more

This is a quaint little store in New York City for plus size women. Their sizes range from twelve to thirty-two. It has some pretty good selection and offers reasonable prices. They also sell accessories, so it is a pretty much a one stop shop. Their location is not bad, but I am not sure about their return policies since it is a local business. more
