A family friend recommended me to Dr. Yea. Being that I haven?t been to the dentist in a really, really long time I was very anxious. But I must say that I had comfortable first time visit. It?s a small office but very friendly, family oriented. Dr. Yea gave me an overview of my teeth, what was going on, how to take care of my teeth and a treatment plan that best suited my situation. more

I have been a long time customer of Lake City Smiles, even prior to Dr. Yea taking over the practice. I can't remember the former dentist's name, but when going to Lake City Smiles at the time, I felt as if I were going to a former Russian KGB-Dental clinic. And he was by no means gentle. He seemed to know he was close to retirement and took little care for preventative care and maintenance of my teeth. more

Worst. Dentist. Ever. My husband and I only go to him because we have state dental insurance and hardly anyone takes it. I don't know why anyone would go to him otherwise. I went to Dr. Yea for a regular checkup and cleaning. He did xrays and an exam on my first visit, but not the cleaning, I had to come back for that. On my second appointment, he examined me again. He then proceeded to fill a DIFFERENT TOOTH than the one he told me needed filling at my previous visit. I wish I could give him a lower reting. His treatment of me bordered on being abusive. I was unable to get the treatment I asked for. He was careless and kept hitting another tooth when ke was drilling, and I've never had a more painful filling. more

Lost filling from right canine (which was done by a different dentist.) This dentist took a bunch of x-rays, which was ok, but chose to replace a crown on an upper left molar, which was not an emergency, and to delay replacing the filling I asked for. I accepted this on his advice and he placed a temporary crown on the upper left molar. More than a week passed. The permanent crown apparently had not yet come from the lab and I heard nothing from the dentist. Meanwhile, the upper right canine cavity, which he had delayed trating, became abscessed with painful swelling. When I called I learned that the dentist would be gone for a week. I asked for an antibiotic for the interim. Receptionist called him and returned to me saying that the dentist wanted me to go to a specialist. I refused. Doctor had, however, prescribed an antibiotic. Meanwhile, I had to wait a full week before being treated. I am a nurse. I know shoddy care when I see it. I do NOT recommend this dentist at Lake City smiles. Cons: Poor care plan more

He was recommended by a friend- went to see him and he took 10 minutes cleaning my teeth! I usually go to a dentist downtown but this is closer to my house so I thought I would try it. I truly felt that he didn't clean my teeth appropriately and called him the next day to let him know my concerns and to not be charged for a cleaning I believed he didn't do well. Also the receptionist made a rude comment about my insurance which they were having problems with contacting them so she thought I was complaining because i didn't have insurance which I do and did end up going through. Would never go back or recommended-I realized that although I have to travel downtown to my other dentist I at least I feel that they spend appropriate time with me and actually clean my teeth!! more
