Daffy's

My sister-in-law accompanied me to return a baby clothing item for my unborn baby at the Daffy's located on 18th St in Chelsea. I told the cashier that I had received the item at my baby shower but I wasnt given a gift receipt for it so I asked whether I could get store credit. The tag was still on the item and the cashier was able to scan it in their system and it showed up as $13.99 The casher informed me that he had to ask his manager since I didnt have a gift receipt. The manager walked over and immediately said no. I pointed to my 30 weeks pregnant belly and plead that Im not lying, my baby isnt even born yet to wear it. I purchased a coat and before paying i asked the cashier if I will be able to return it in case it doesn't fit. She assured me that I could return it within 14 days. The coat didn't fit. When I came to the store to return it Store Manager told me the coat was on Final Sale and it isn't returnable. I told her what the cashier told me, but she said it's not true and the cashier and all the other cashiers will say that I've been told about the Final Sale. She said and I quote: ""It's your word against our cashier's""...I'm in shock...How can somebody so unprofessional have a job, especially, in this economy??? The Madison Avenue store is smaller than other locations and has a limited selection of items. Also, the salespeople aren't knowledgeable about store procedures. Don't even think of returning an item to this store that was purchased at another Daffy's location in NYC even if the tags are attached. The Madison Avenue staff will refuse to process the return and act as if you are trying to return an item that was NEVER purchased at Daffy's. Avoid the Madison Avenue store. Cons: Limited selection. I liked Daffy's, I mean I used to. Today I went to get some nice intimates. When I was paying for them, I saw a nice umbrella, and said ""hold on"" to cashier, then she scaned the intimates, then I asked her ""did u scan the umbrella"", she said ""yes"" and ""next customer"". As I was exiting, the alarms rang at the door, security guard asked me to the show the receipt, there were no receipt! She didn't even gave it to me. Then I asked from her, she said ""u were such in a hurry"", but I wasn't! Then I think security guard has taken off the alarm of the ringing item. Then I showed the receipt and went outside. While I was in the subway, I realized from the receipt I got that the cashier didn't scan the umbrella!!! After realizing this I came back to the Daffy's and told them that they didn't scan the umbrella, and I paid for it. Yes Daffy's sells good stuff like Calvin Kline, DKNY intimates at very cheap prices, but the cashiers and other workers are whole careless, unaware and disregardful. If I haven't come back, they would never find out that their umbrella was gone for a bargain. I think Daffy's should hire smarter workers. Just because of this event, I don't wanna go there, since it was totally embrassing and upsetting thing. I will not go there ever again, until I crave for Calvin Klein bras. The brands I often get: les copains, divina, patrizia pepe, poleci, mandorlamara, amarissimo, michael stars, see by chloe, anna sui, shin choi, toy london, iceberg, voyage passion, and much much more at average of $35 per item. Majority of all women's clothing in daffy's are european and hard to find outside of ny. B/c europe is ahead of the trends, these designs are on trend in america so you are not shopping past season per se. This is the BEST STORE in nyc. Everytime i wear something i bought at daffy's i get a million compliments. It's worth the search if you like ""interesting"" clothes, more avant garde than J. Crew or Gap.
