Fantastic ""old style"" bike shop 4/10/2012

This is a small specialty bike shop that provides great bikes and services at a much lower cost than either the ""big box"" bike store or other smaller shops. I have been using them for tune ups and other maintenance since I moved to North Carolina 3 years ago. The owner is not a chatterbox, but really knows his stuff and his bikes are price well below the sale prices at other stores. more

Bad expierence 2/1/2012

I brought in a bike, not an expensive one. Wanted the $30.00 tune up. When I returned a week later picked up the bike and assumed the work was done, it wasn't. When I returned the first response I heard was "" It's broke already?"" The bike was basically placed on hooks and very little done. Every nut and screw was loose when I brought it in the first time. Very little was done. Beware, check your repairs before you leave the store. more

Best Bike Purchase Ever 6/4/2011

This shop had the best customer service of any of the bike shops in town and their price on The Fuji Newest 1.0 road bike was the best I could find, Internet included! Their $ on parts are also very competitive and the owner and staff have great knowledge and advice to lend. The $30 tune up is way more involved than other local shops. Don't buy on Craigslist because you can get better quality and better pricing here! And new tires and brakes... more

Genial host enjoys fixing bikes. 12/7/2009

The owner was very pleasant on the phone when I asked if I could drop by for a minor repair while I wait, and he took care of it immediately when I got there, at exactly the quoted price, and clearly enjoyed the opportunity to be of service. His young helper was very pleasant also - when I remarked about the difference between his shop and others, like a certain ""star"" bike shop, he mentioned that she'd come from there due to a shared attitude towards service. My bike is old, but I keep it functional. No pressure to buy a new one or haughty comments about other repairs I ""must"" have. I know what I need after 55 yrs on a bike. So did he. Pros: Service w/ a smile rare among bikeshops Cons: Not open 24 hrs? Can't think of any others. more

Want to be respected as a customer. 4/1/2009

Called cycle logic for a recomendation on if i should buy an older alum, cannondale frame. the friendly shop guy filled me in on the history on older alum. frames and informed me about how well the new bikes have excelled, and said he could give me a bike with alum and carbon for 500 . went there after work , loved the way the shop had an old time fill, they gave me plenty of space as i browesed around and then asked if they could help, mentioned the previous conversation and from that point on this guy gave me deals of the century, from 500 to 1000, guess what i got . 2008 fuji team for 1000 . he let me ride all the bikes i wanted and assembled a 58 to make sure it was my size. this shop (cycle logic)),blew me out of the water. i went to all star tri sport and called around this is by far the best. wise up and give um a shot , best buying experiance ive ever had. Pros: Best service in town!,the service you need. Cons: your expecting someone to wipe your butt. more

Tried to sell me unneeded reapirs 11/24/2008

I recently bought a nice Giant Cypress hybrid on Craigslist for $100. It looked brand new, but it skipped out of gear going up hills. I took it to Cycle Logic for repair, and the owner looked at it for about 10 seconds and then told me I needed a new rear cassette for parts and labor of $85. Since I only paid $100 for the bike, I decided to maybe try and replace the cassette myself and left the store with the bike. I took it to a friend of mine who is a bike repair expert. He looked at the rear cassette and told me that it was still good. He then proceeded to make a couple of minor adjustments to the shift cables that took him about two minutes, and the bike has worked perfectly ever since. I have since ridden over 1000 miles with no problems. I can only conclude that Mr. Cycle Logic was trying to rip me off by selling me a rear cassette that I didn't need when a simple adjustment would have fixed my issues. What a rip off! Avoid this shop at all costs! more

Lacks the most important thing... 5/17/2008

The owner that is often in the shop acts as if you are the biggest inconvenience he has ever encountered. He must not want to sell his merchandise, because I wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. I asked a very simple question and he treated me as if I were a complete idiot. Pros: Has a cool floor. Cons: Everything other than the floor. more
