My fiance and I did some research online concerning where to stay for a little get away. I visited some online hotel reservation sites and looked up reviews for some hotels. We first noticed Crown Plaza, but notice a few bad comments so I tried a different hotel. They were all booked, so I decided to give Crown Plaza a chance despite all of the bad comments. We should have listened to all of the bad comments. When we first arrived, everything seemed fine. The front desk clerk was friendly and the room seemed clean and comfortable. We noticed a lot of little extra things that I was excited about. The little gift bag with an eye mask and a calming sleep CD was great. Then we got settled in and noticed that the remote didn't work and was taped up. That was no big deal since there was 2 TV's and 2 remotes, so we just switched. Then we went out on the town and had a blast. We got back late Monday night and ordered room service for supper. My expectations were too high for a $13 bowl of pasta and $10 hamburger. The pasta was dry and tasteless and the hamburger was overdone and bland. Neither one of us enjoyed our meal at all, especially a $30 meal. That night we got ready to take a shower and noticed that the huge metal sliding door wouldn't shut all the way. Then the next night the door wouldn't open or shut it got stuck half way. We had breakfast the next morning and was pleased with the food and service. When we went to check out, the front desk was a little busy but I didn't mind waiting a little bit. When it was my turn I kindly told him about our stay. When I told him about the horrible room service he just replied "Not what you were expecting then?" like I wasn't sophisticated enough to enjoy rich taste. I thought that was very rude. He didn't try to make me happy at all. I think word of mouth helps or hurts a business and people won't be hearing very good things come out of my mouth about the Crowne Plaza.
