Editorial review from Citysearch 3/5/2014

My family and I erroneously chose to have dinner here last night. We were in and out in a little over an hour, would have been quicker had the waitress not been depending on other people to handle our drinks and bill. In that time period, the window on my car was shattered, with my alarm going off and valuables stolen from the center console. (Before anyone goes off on an over opinionated rant, there was nothing in plain site to warrant a break-in.) \r \r Regardless of the numerous people coming in and out of the restaurant, apparently no one reported the alarm going off or the shattered window to the staff. (If they did, that information was withheld from us and the police.) We were parked in the center of the main section of the parking lot, under poor lighting. The manager was not very forthcoming about the fact that break-ins at this location are a frequent occurrence, but the fact that he had SAPD on speed dial was a dead giveaway. They have no signs warning customers that break-ins happen often, no security officer and a sad excuse for security cameras. (The fact about frequent break-ins was also confirmed by the responding police officer.)\r \r Our mediocre dinner wound up costing me upwards of $1000 in insurance deductibles and stolen possessions. I will NEVER dine at this location again. And, after overhearing an employee say that they aren't responsible for the vehicles in their parking lot, I will be very hard pressed to visit any other Cracker Barrel location. They may not be legally 'responsible', but there are reasonable precautions they could have taken to help prevent this from happening. I made the mistake of choosing to patronize a business that clearly does not value their customers safety, for that fact they have officially lost mine and my family's business. more

Good Biscuits and Apple Butter 11/23/2008

I have always enjoyed Cracker Barrel and would make it a treat when I work late and get off early in the mornings. I would stop for a hearty breakfast...biscuits are tender, fluffy and hot. I would always ask for the homemaded apple butter, delicious. I also like their potato casserole. The service is good, friendly, but if you get there late, especially on the weekends, there will be a wait. I like roaming through the store and looking at the old time decor. And as a habit I almost always pick up an old fashion sweet treat that I remember my dad buying for me as a kid. Good hearty old fashion downhome cooking...like mom use to make. Pros: Homecooking like mom's and homemaded apple butter Cons: Can get very busy, crush and rush more

All across the board they are my #1 choice. My favorite meals are their breakfasts. I recommend them to everyone. The atmosphere is family oriented with an old fashioned country style. Perfect for celebrating special holidays such as Mother and Father's Day. Most everything they serve is absolutely the best from their breakfast specialties such as Mama's Pancake Breakfast to their eggs and sausage with hashbrown casserole. \r \r My dinner preferences are the meatloaf, or chicken and dumplings. You've got to taste their green beans. They are even better than my grandma used to make. Desserts are out of this world, big servings. Then we have their wonderful country store. Wow, it is always a treat for us to go to the Cracker Barrel. I found both their food and service to be outstanding. Pros: I love everything about this wonderful place. Cons: Often have to wait before being seated, but wait is well worth it. more

Cracker Barrel across America 3/14/2006

Why in the world would this restaurant be on anybody's best list? I have eaten at quite a few and they are all the same although some are worse than others. Food is not even average and service leaves much to be desired. What good is a large menu if the food is not that great. Pros: Great parking Cons: Everything else more
