BEST BBQ IN HOUSTON 1/3/2009

The County Line was everything I expected. The beef ribs were big and very meaty, the babyback ribs were excellent. We had the all you can eat, which also included brisket and sausage. they were both terrific. Our waiter was very helpful, polite and the drinks were great. I would definetly recomend this restaurant to all of my family and friends and anyone who is looking for the best BBQ in Houston more

Wow! The Baby backs!! 12/31/2008

The baby backs are great! I have been eating at County Line since 1987, still do once a week. Hard to order other things because the baby backs are so good. My Rotary club meets here every Friday Lunch and I do not get tired. The beef ribs and smoked prime rib are better than any in town. One of the best restaurants in Willowbrook area. Pros: Beautiful location Cons: Hard to find more

Great Food, Great Party Rooms 12/30/2008

I grew up going to County Line BBQ and recently moved back to Houston after 10 years abroad...I was excited to get back to good ole Texas BBQ and headed straight to the County Line...amazingly, the food was just as good as I remebered it to be....moist, smoked brisket and tender, flavorful baby back ribs... and the best homemade bread I've ever had! We were there on a weekend night and were pleased to find that they serve one of the best smoked prime ribs in town on Friday and Saturday evenings. We had a group of 30 and reserved one of the private banquet rooms...the atmosphere was private, casual and inviting...the service impeccable! Thank you County Line for making my homecoming truly special! Pros: food, service, parking, value more

HORRIBLE 8/14/2008

at first i was really excited to try this place out because it was on the a show on the food network. the motto fits it alright ""nobody leaves hungry"" because once you eat the horrendous food you lose your appetite! meat is flavorless has no smoky flavor whatsoever. gotta fight the meat on the rib to get it off. the best thing about my meal was the bake potato. portions small for the price. i'd much rather go to pappa's bbq or good co. and the service was BAD the waiter was rude. there were only two other tables there and it still took forever for the waiter to take our order. we had a table of seven and not one person was satisfied! will never go back nor recommend to anyone!!!!!!!!!! Cons: everything horrible more

EDITOR'S PICK???? 1/25/2008

The most overated BBQ. This place sells commercial BBQ that has no real pit flavor. The brisket and ribs don't really have that real smoke flavor that is real BBQ. The sausage is good but you get a very little piece. Because you get very small portions for the price at this place. The sauce and sides are ok but don't make up for overpriced and undersmoked meats. How in the world could this place be the editor's pick???? Have they ever had real pit BBQ????? Pros: sauce is good Cons: over priced and under smoked meats more

TASTY BAR-B-QUE 10/22/2007

My fiance recommended County Line and I have only really liked one place because of the barbque sauce but after trying County Line I love it. I got a chopped beef sandwich and a fully loaded bake potato and I was thinking it was going to be small but I was so wrong I had to force myself to finish it all because I was very full but it was so yummy. Their chopped beef sandwich is not on regular slices of bread this was on I want to say faccocia but I could be wrong but my point is it was not boring. I took a bite of my fiance's ribs and the meat was so tender, o and yum o on the potato salad. The sausage was very good too, even my kids ate it and wanted more. The service was great, it was a friday night and no waiting list. Our server was great also. He made sure we didn't have to wait on anything and was respectful by asking if the kids could have their desert if they were done with dinner. He also gave us his opinion on the appetizers. So this place I would definately recommend if you are a barbque lover. Pros: seating was prompt, friendly employees, large quantity Cons: can't think of anything more

well.................. 7/21/2007

ok let me say that i am a BBQ person with family members that KNOW the best receipes for bbq from every region...... i had been to the one in albuquerque bbq was ok and loved the creamed corn. i was willing to give it another try and was all jazzed to go. we had a training which meant a lot of guest from out of town so one friday we took them here. i was not thrilled with the fact that they did not allow reservations for a large group of people and that we were told sure we will take the information but that does not mean you will all be seated. it just happened that everyone showed just before the rush so that went well. the service was great and they were very attentive. i ordered a mixed 3 meat platter. what can i say. the salad was good, the corn was on the cob. the little stub of sausage was interesting, the brisket dry as the sierra and i had to fight the bone for the meat of the rib. dessert was cobbler that was way too terribly sweet. that was all i could taste-sugar. all in all if you go here, do so for the drinks. i did notice that the albuquerque seemed to have more options...or maybe i just missed the creamed corn with green chili. Pros: bar Cons: average food more

Will never go back! 5/24/2007

After hearing how their ribs are ""legendary,"" my boyfriend and I were excited to try their barbecue. We were seated promptly, and our food came out pretty fast. Our first reaction.... the serving size is so SMALL even for the ""hearty-size"" platter. So we though, well maybe it's just that good they don't want to waste it. So we tried it. HORRIBLE. The brisket was dry and flavorless, and worst of all, I had to fight with the ribs to get the meat off. I expected so much better from this place. Texas Roadhouse is far worth the drive. The meat actually falls of the bone with just a tap of the fork. The servers were prompt and nice though. The atmostphere is neat. Oh yeah, they also took of only $5 off of our $7 discount. We were so disappointed, we didn't even bother telling them about their mistake. Pros: Good service Cons: Horrible food, highly priced, and horrible food more

Yum! 11/12/2006

Perhaps I am bias since I grew up on the NW side of Houston and had the opportunity to eat at the Countyline more times than I can count, but this place makes you LOVE Texas BBQ! The portions are huge and sooo tasty! The servers are friendly and the price is well worth it for the amount of food you get. It's perfect for large groups and you are seated and served promptly. Pros: delicious brisket, great value, great service more

IT IS OPEN Monday 3/13/2006

I know this because I was just there. No more than 15 minutes ago, today, March 13. They have been open on Monday's since June '05. Becuase it was a Monday night, I was seated promptly. The service was excellent. Of course, there were probably 10 tables that were taken. Food was served qucikly. I hd the 5 meat sampler. Very good all around, excellent sauce, but the beans and potato salad were GREAT. more

I have never had such a good meal as I did at the County Line. The service is great, the ribs are one the best I've ever had. The protions are generous as is the drinks. Big glasses of whatever you want. I reccimend it to who ever wishes to eat ribs. more

Texasque 1/10/2003

This place has by far, the best barbeque in the state. The meat is smoked correctly. The beef ribs are better than any I've ever had. The locations in Houston as every bit as good as those in Austin. The atmoshere is very nice. The margarita's rock and the Jack Daniels Bread pudding is a great end to a great meal. Its a barbecue place you can bring a date too!!! Pros: best barbecue, great margaritas, can get in sat nights Cons: Pricey for BBQ more

What happened??? 1/8/2003

Growing up in Austin, they were the best place to go for good barbecue. Their meat was always smoky, dry and lean, with a good sauce. Their ribs were very good, their chicken was awesome, and we all fought over their sausage. They were pretty pricey, but you never went there for a cheap meal as they were located in a scenic spot that overlooked Lake Travis. When I moved to Houston I discovered Goode Company and fell in love with their food because it reminded me of County Line. I heard that County Line had expanded to Houston, what happened to them to make them last place??? (I just moved to VA a few months ago) Pros: Food Quality, Ambiance Cons: Price, Long wait for seating more

Excellent BBQ, service, and value 11/3/2002

I enjoyed the original in Austin very much, so was very happy to see that this Houston edition matches the Austin one in quality of food and service. The chicken actually fell off the bone it was so tender! I look forward to visiting again soon, with neighbors and friends in tow. Pros: Chicken, Ribs, Casual Atmosphere Cons: Bread wasn't warm., Not closer to house. more

my opinion 11/1/2002

i didn't like the atmosphere, and i didn't like the food, tased old. the parking lot was scary, need more and better lighting Cons: hummmm more

Your cardiologist will hate you but it taste great and you wont regret trying it. Good eating! Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Reasonable prices Cons: Out of the way, Not open on monday more
