The Cotton Boll: Star in the Crown, Great Customer service!! 3/12/2008

The Cotton Boll closed in 2007. The owner Retired. Though I never had a bad experience with the Cotton Boll they were just too far away from where I lived to visit very often, even though I bought a top of the line Huskvarna sewing machine from Rosemary in the '90s. I will miss the shop and the individual attention I recieved when visiting. I am not sure what happend with the other lady who complained. Perhaps the ladies had found out that the shop would be closing in a few years and this put a pall on thier day. I do wish Rosemary had let me know she was closing so I could find out where else I could get my machine serviced. Too many of the sewing machine places are closing and soon we will have no other alternatives to make something different and wonderful than is offered at the big box stores and we will have to be drones along with the rest of the world, Walmart in Arms so to speak. Pros: Had clothing fabrics that other places did not Cons: Has closed forever, owner retired more

Great customer support 7/12/2006

I have gone to the Cotton Boll for many years and I always have a good experience. I am an quilter and I love the choices that I have of interesting and unique cottons. I also like that I can take my quilt in when I am done to show it off. more

Do you like condescending attitudes? 8/21/2005

Upon reading the fabulous review above, I decided to see what help, advice, and products this establishment had to offer another soon-to-be bride. The staff made every effort to ignore me as I entered the store so I decided to pick my own way through their small selection of unimpressive fabrics. Instead of exiting immediately, I made the mistake of annoying the salespeople with unforgivably naive questions about having a wedding dress made locally and about the specific fabrics I might use from their store. Now, maybe I didn't have the right look or maybe I didn't seem like enough money for them to be bothered with but I have really never, in all my life, been treated with as much disinterest and outright disdain by any sales staff. Bottom line: If pomposity without substance is your thing, by all means throw your money away at the Cotton Boll. more

Best Customer Service Ever 7/22/2002

I went to the Cotton Boll looking for fabric for my wedding dress. I had the full attention of one salesperson for almost 2 hours, and help from the owner and the other salesperson working. When my seamstress told me that it wasn't enough fabric, the owner of the Cotton Boll met with her and they worked together to make the fabric work! This was so important because the fabric is discontinued and I could not have gotten more of it. I will never shop at another fabric store in this area. more
