I dined at Corosh after having lived in the neighborhood for 2 years and walking by it many times. My wife and I had an early dinner and by all accounts it was the worst meal we have ever had at a so called "casual dining experience". I have eaten off of taco stands in Mexico and back road diners in the middle of nowhere, but this was the first time I was afraid of getting sick after I finished eating.
Now to the food. We had the risotto with portabella mushrooms, bell peppers, and shrimp, which is an interesting combination to begin with, but when it arrived it looked like a bowl of fried rice or jambalaya. Risotto is supposed to be creamy and rich, this was crunchy and dry and the shrimp were over cooked and the portabella were substituted for what looked and tasted like button mushrooms. We also had the steak special which was a filet mignon over sauteed spinach and a red wine-mustard reduction sauce. The beef was the most oddly shaped piece of meat ever and it was rare except for the dull grey outside, and the wine sauce tasted like grape juice syrup. I would have been fine with the meal, if I was being charged $5 for it, but when the bill was over $70 that was ridiculous.
This place might be good for a drink, but stay away from ANY of the Italian food.
We will not be returning.
Pros: Nice outdoor area, interesting art.
Cons: Worst food. Empty all the time. Confused about what they want to be: a bar or restaurant.
