Worst breakfast ever! 9/27/2008

I have heard so many great things about The Cornerstone. I have never gone before. So this morning my husband and I decided to try it. Big mistake! The service was very quick. But the food was just nasty. I ordered The California Omelet. My eggs were burned. They were a rubbery brown. The turkey meat inside it was dark gray and tasted like the chicken in Campbells condensed chicken soup. The potatoes that came with it were also burned and had absolutely no flavor! My husband ordered The Biscuits and Gravy. They also were just horrible. The gravy actually jiggled like it was jello! And it had no flavor. We each ate about 2 bites of our so called meal ans just had to leave. When we told the waitress just how gross the food was she looked at us with this very nasty sneer. We paid and left. I finally went into Cornerstone Cafe after seeing a ridiculous amount of people whenever I would pass by on the weekends. Pros: Nice to sit outside with friends. Cons: Funky food. more

I've been going to this ravishing place of love for half of my life and i must say that every time i go, everyone is cordially inviting me to my commodious seat. And everytime i sit down i scream inside because if feels like i am sitting in a flower of love! Every bite of the pancake reminds me that this is the closest to heaven I can get...it just feels like someone is touching my tralala The toast is unmatched around the country i must assert. It is perfect in everyway...jsut beautiful like the toaster herself. Flawless...just words cannot decribe it I never want to leave, but the cashier...shes one in a million everytime i leave she greets me with a smile that is sui generis.... wonderful food and people 7/10/2005

after coming for so many months at cornerstone midtown, i have grown accustomed to their methods of creating a great restaurant... the waitresses give good service and if you sit at the counter, you get to observe the other workers who are rather left unnoticed... the toaster-person takes his time to make wonderful and fresh toast and the cashier is always willing to give a smile. what's greater than people who take the time to satisfy your morning? more

Terrible & Overrated 9/5/2004

Pancakes tasted like a dirty grill and the OJ tastes like a powdered drink. Service was not good and to top it off AFTER we ate, we saw a notice from the County that they had passed their THIRD inspection...blech!!! Do your homework and avoid this place!!! Cons: , Service, Food Quality more

The place is dirty, hot and old. But when it comes to the food, you would have picked a winner. The service is always great too. The lines to get in the place are long and the people waiting in them different, but it is the place to go. Pros: Good Food, Great Service, Fun Cons: Building needs update more

Get there early on the weekend because the seats go quickly. The service is great, the coffee is good and the food is pretty good. It's crowded - but that is part of the experience. The french toast, however, is better at Tower Cafe in Land Park. more

Always in search of a good breakfast spot, this one was recomended by a friend. The food is good and pirces reasonable. Always crowded but have never had to wait. Also we have found that you can order pretty much anything and they will do it for you. more
