Amen to all the negative reviews for this lady! By the way, did you all have to wait in that office full of cats too? She is odd to say the least! But I do pray for her, to become better with Jesus Christ. I did find a good lawyer who cares the next day :) Thank You Lord :)\r \r P/S When I moved to CC in 1991, I remember Melody as a young up and coming City Council member, she just never got "it" about "the people" but boy she got the $$$! I just got through a divorce and I can attest to all the negatives that have already been said here. Melody makes a good sales pitch from the outset, but once you're committed it is truly all about the money. Each time I stepped into her office it was another thousand dollars, and each time it was, "well can you ask your family for money?".\r \r At the start, I was told that my divorce was simple, cut and dried, and the retainer fee should easily cover everything. By the time it was through, I had paid her over $4000, and the actual work done by her or her office included only three letters to the other lawyer and a mediation... A mediation to which she showed up 25 minutes late and hadn't appeared to have even reviewed my file. Worst of all, once my mediation was done and there was nothing left for Melody to bill me for, it was like I had dropped off the face of the earth. Melody Cooper does not care, it's that simple. She is evil and will constantly ask for thousands of dollars without defending your case. She will lie and take your money. People hire an attorney when they are in a bad situation and she will take advantage of this situation. I had to fire her after spending thousands of dollars. Everyone showed up for a meeting in her office but her, she schedule appointment @ 2pm when she had a court date @ 1pm. One time she didn't even show up in court, I was there with no counsel. If you need an attorney find one that will fight for you and your family, Melody will add to your bad situation by putting you in debt. more

If you need a family attorney or just a qualified upstanding attorney and person..well here she is..she's been a board member...great family person and honest person to have on your side. She is also very connected in the city, so if you're wanting an attorney that is well-respected by the general public and has a lot of contacts, give her a call. PROS: Great law CONS: none more
