This relatively new museum showcases the national constitution. The building is a work of art both from the outside as well as inside. The center has beautiful exhibits of the early constitutions with a brief history behind each person that signed the constitution. a great place to take your kids and teach them about american history. more

National Constittution Center 8/16/2005

If you have not been here to explore this relatively new facility, it is worth checking out. Especially good for elementary school age kids. Tells the story of the writing of the Constitution with multimedia displays and interactive exhibits. There is a cool theater in the round that should not be missed. Don't forget to take some pictures with the bronze statues and be sure to sign the "Constitution" yourself. more

Great experience to learn about our country 8/11/2005

Living history museums are an excellent place to really get a feel for our shared history. I'm a big fan of places where there are renactments, and this place is never a disappointment for us. My child loves going here, and she gets a real kick out of all of the people dressed up. An enjoyable day, and a must see for any tourists in Phillie! more

Required viewing for history buffs 8/6/2005

I recently visited the new Constitution Center in Old City. First the building itself is beautiful. Second the displays are very well done - lots of archives, some of which are not so well known, including early drafts of the constitution. The museum does not overwhelm you with information which is nice. Also it is huge, so you don't feel people are trampling over you. A couple of things were a little cheesy: the People dressed like Ben Franklin or Betsy Ross who would try to engage you in a conversation came across as insane. I guess if you are an out of town guest this would be nice. more
