North Beach Gem 6/19/2010

I will forever hold that this is the best place to get drinks in North Beach. Forget the cheesy-bachelorette-infested-dance venues of the district. This bar reeks of a hole-in-the-wall neighborhood bar, but is exceptional in it's own right. The bartenders are awesome, the drinks are stiff and cheap, and there is always music playing from the juke or Wii Bowling in the background. Of course, some rabble-rousers often stumble in on Friday and Saturday nights, so I recommend visiting this hot spot on any other night, so to avoid the douchebaggery. Pros: Wii Bowling, cheap drinks, cool-ass bartenders, juke box more

Columbus adds The Intrigue 4/6/2006

Too cool !!!!!!!!! The new owners brought in this cool chick from another bar to re open the downstairs ! Hot drinks, great atmosphere ! Awesome sexy, but non-pretentious lounge ! fridays only I think ! GREAT !!! Pros: lounge, best cocktails, sexy more

NEW DIGS !! 3/30/2006

We are all so excited !! The Columbus is slowly fixing up the place ! The new owner is very nice, and the beer deals are 2 for 1 ! The bartenders are nice !Victoria from Tony Nik's around the corner is opening up the downstairs bar and turning it into a lounge called The Intrigue ! Be sure to check the cool cocktails she makes after your 2 beers upstairs ! Every friday 6-9, at least that's what the flyer says ! Congrats Columbus !! Pros: great beer, cool cocktails, killer location more

Best happy-hour in town, hands down. 3/16/2005

If your looking for cheap beer, pool, and a good crowd...this is your spot. This bar is a great after-work spot, or place to hang and have a low key night. Located in the heart of North Beach, next door to the best pizza by slice joint around (GoldenBoy). You will find a great mix of people in this bar, locals, after work happy-hour crews, and singles. The best reason to visit, 2-1 beer from 6-9 M-F!! Stop by the bar for a few drinks before you hit up the dance clubs...or head off to dinner. Expect to find a great mixed crowd, pool tables, good music, and friendly staff . Pros: great staff, 2-1 beers 6-9, M-F, great crowd more

Best happy hour in SF 2/1/2003

seriously, a round of seven drinks cost me $17 during happy hour (1 mixed drink, 3 beers, and 3 free beers for the happy hour special) buy one beer, get one free. they give you little drink chits that you can use later to get your free beer, even up to an hour after happy hour ends! and the jukebox has great eclectic stuff unlike the generic crap at most bars. the decore is pretty bland, but with these drink prices, who cares!?!? Pros: best happy hour in SF, near golden boy pizza, great jukebox more

The place to be! 12/28/2002

Besides the fact that the Manager Michelle is an absolute rocket, the Columbus Cafe is staffed by fun people like bartender Paul that make it almost impossible not to go in when you're running around North Beach. Un bacione dall'Italia, hope to see you guys soon. Pros: Great staff, Fun atmosphere, Feels like home away Cons: Not here in Europe wh more
