Fresh Fish...But You'll Pay Through the Gills 8/18/2005

Coastal Seafoods carries a variety of fresh fish, much of it flown in daily. This quality does not come cheap, however, so be prepared to pay as much for a pound or two of fish as you would for a meal at a mid-range restaurant. Also, their in stock quantities are often small-so make sure to call ahead if you need a particular fish for a special meal. Their fresh tuna is the best in the Twin Cities. However, I've found better and cheaper unagi next door at United Noodle. They also carry a premium grade of Kobe Beef, which should be fun to try. Be sure to check out Coastal Seafoods website for their daily and weekend specials. more

High quality seafood 8/17/2005

It is very tough to get good quality seafood in a land locked state like Minnesota. That is where Coastal Seafood helps out. They have a good selection of high quality seafood. I have found their staff to be quite helpful for tips and preparation hints. The prices are high, but are what one would expect to pay for high quality seafood. more

Good Seafood 8/17/2005

Coastal Seafood is probably the best place to buy seafood in the twin cities. They don’t prepare pre-marinated fish or anything, so don’t come here if you just want to throw it on the grill. But the fish is generally better and than you’ll find at, say Byerly’s, and the staff is very knowledgeable about what they are selling. I would recommend it. This one is right across the street from United Noodle, so you can combine all your sushi shopping! more
