We moved from the LA area to Carlsbad and we still take our BMWs to Coast Motor Werk. They are professional, trustworthy and experts at knowing how to diagnose and repair the real problems. I have never had to worry about work being done that wasn't really needed and they always let me know in advance what would be needed and when. more

Above and beyond service, helped me fix a poor job done by my dealership 2/13/2013

I have a BMW X5 that just got out of its warranty and I had gone to my dealership where I bought the car for a repair for 1500 dollars. The day after I drove it off the dealership lot the entire engine overheated and blew up and the dealership wouldn't take responsibility for it. Coast Motor Werk was the best in helping me fix what the dealership had done. I am in my 20's and know little about cars and they made me comfortable and they saw the errors and took photos of the work done by my dealership and after they replaced my engine they helped me put together a claim for what my dealership did wrong to my car. I went to small claims court and I got all my money back from the dealership. Ron from Coast Motor Werk was incredible, he did a great repair and I haven't had any problems since using him. more

Ron is great. 1/10/2013

I met Ron a few year's ago. He's really personable, and you can tell he cares about what he does and his customers. You can also tell he knows his stuff. I think he's fair. He's always helped me if I've been in a bind financially. He let's you in the shop and let's you walk around. His shop is really nice. I like that they know my name and my car, it gives the place a home feel. more

Quality, fairness, trust, and wonderful customer service. 12/12/2012

My son is also a BMW person, and he researched Coast Motor Werk three years ago. He interviewed Ron and thought he was the greatest. He told me that they sounded terrific, and I've been going there since. They are full of service as far as chauffeuring back and forth when the car needs to stay there. I feel comfortable knowing that if they tell me I need something, I need it. The waiting room is clean. I feel comfortable knowing that I can trust them. more

Environment is excellent. Doesn't feel like a mechanic's shop. 11/15/2012

You can't beat Coast Motor Werk if you have a BMW. I'd been going to the BMW dealership for servicing the whole time I'd had my BMW. I had put 150,000 miles on it, and was still going to the dealership when I noticed that the dealer kept on referring to other dealers for help on problems. I did some research, came across Coast Motor Werk, and noticed that all their mechanics had BMWs. That got to me. My timing belt came loose while I was driving on the freeway. I took it into the dealership to be fixed, and they charged me $5,000 without even fixing it right. Coast Motor Werk took half the time and charged me less than half of what the dealer had charged. They did all the work over again with brand new parts. That was in late 2007, and ever since then, I've been going there and they've done everything on my BMW. I have referred quite a few people there and they all have the same testimony. The environment is excellent. It feels more like you're going to a business meeting than a mechanic's shop, and the shop and bathrooms are all clean. I would never go to anybody else. more

They're easy to deal with, they're quick, and it doesn't ever seem like they're jacking me around or trying to get more money. Plus, they're conveniently close to my home. more

I've been going to Coast Motor Werk BMW & MINI Service and Repair Specialists for about three or four years. They take care of my car's auto maintenance, things like oil change and tired. I am very happy with them, they are pleasant, friendly, and do good work. more

Went above and beyond to find our problem. 8/15/2012

Every time we went to Coast Motor Werk, they were great. In fact, once we had to take our car back because there was a noise we didn't understand. Ron put it up on the machine, and 2-3 mechanics came over to look at it. One sat in the cockpit and turned the steering wheel, and they finally found out what it was. They went out of their way to find the source of the problem, and they fixed it for no extra charge. I have not had a problem with it since. more

First class. 7/13/2012

Because of the traffic on a bridge near my house I couldn't pull over and stop my car, so I had a clutch fan fail, which overheated my car and blew the gasket head. However, the cast iron engine in my 1997 BMW was still good. I was considering donating the car because of the problem, but my brother searched the internet and got the recommendation to Coast Motor Werk from a grinder. My brother, who is almost a mechanic himself, talked to the head mechanic at Coast Motor Werk, and after consulting him and looking at the price, we took my car to them. We also had received a quote from the dealer. I drove down, left it with them, and now I am driving it again. It works well and is a good car. Coast Motor Werk BMW is first class, and I will definitely take my car back there. more

I've been going to Ron for probably 5 years. Overall, I'm very satisfied. I think they go above and beyond. For example, my radio knob was broken. I mentioned it casually while they were doing other repairs, and Ron fixed it for no charge. more

I'm absolutely happy with Coast Motor Werk BMW & MINI service and repair specialists! I was referred to him from another stereo place. As I walked into their showroom, I knew I wanted to work with him. Coast Motor Werk has a top-notch facility and works only with BMW's. They take care of me and looks out for me. They do maintenance on my wife's car, and she's special to me. They do a good job. I recently moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and I will probably drive my car back from Phoenix to get their service! more

A = easy referrals, great business! 4/16/2012

I have never seen a shop that is clean with accommodations, and without oozing ""corporate."" I spent nearly 3 hours here waiting for my baby's tires to be put on and have its alignment completed. I was able to browse the internet, Rob (the owner) made me a cup of fresh coffee, and shared ideas he has about his business with me. Afterward, he introduced me to Drew who showed me my car's symptoms, how he fixed them, and the typical reasons cars fall out of alignment. The service was great, there were no surprises, and they made it easy for me to pay them for their time. more

TCoast Motor Werk BMW & MINI service and repair specialists were great. They were very nice and friendly. They were professional and did a good job. However, BMW's are expensive to repair in general so that is why I give 3 stars for the price for value. I would recommend them anytime. more

Easy to do business with and great to work with. 4/3/2012

Coast Motor Werk is a very easy to work with and accommodating shop. I called them up, they told me to come on down, and they were willing to give me a ride home if needed. They're willing to listen to you to figure out the problem, and at least in my experience, they look for other things that might be wrong while you're there. That was nice because it saved me another trip. Coast Motor Werk is very professional all the way through. more

Outstanding customer service 11/7/2011

My car lost power two days before I had to drive to NorCal. I called Coast Motor Werks based upon their website and on-line reviews. I was not disappointed. Brad was understanding and went out of his way to be helpful. He fit my car in the next day for service even though I was not a current client at that time. After assessing my car, Brad called and thoroughly explained the situation and estimated cost of repairs to ensure I understood. The car was done before promised, the cost of repair was a few dollars under budget, and Brad gave me a list of issues to watch for. I am thrilled with the customer service, the quality of service and the reasonable cost of repairs. I highly recommend Coast Motor Werks. more

Love Coast Motor Werks. Brad and the team are great! I would sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. :-) I have taken my car to them on three seperate occassions. The work was done quickly and I didn't "break the bank", as I would have at a BMW dealership. The team was very responsive, flexible with scheduling my appointments, and they did a fabulous job following up with me regarding the repair work. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good company to service their BMW. more

The Only Place for My M6 7/12/2011

I would NOT trust my 2006 M6 in anybody's hands but Ron's. Knowledgeable and honest. Plus he used to pilot a big block Firebird like I did. My brother (x5) and sister-in-law (530xi) are going to become customers also as soon as BMW warranties expire. more

Good experience, fair pricing, great people! 6/9/2011

It's kinda funny, I park my car at a parking garage at work, and Coast Motor Werk always left business cards on my car. On the seventh attempt, I finally went to Coast Motor Werk after my car was having some issues, following the "seven rule." It needed a bunch of things done, so they gave me a list of things to do that was most important to finish first. They also explained what was not life-threatening and could be done after six months from now, and what was for cosmetics. Coast Motor Werk was fair and wonderful. more
