Coast to Coast Autoglass is not a scam! 2/2/2011

This company is not a scam, they are just doing their job like everyone else and the glass is a better quality than most; made by Pilkington, which is installed in Mercedes, BMW, and other high quality automobiles. I also work for this company and was worried about what people were saying about this company being a scam, since I refused to lie and try to con people but after learning /being taught more about this company, I am proud to say that the company and people I work with are extremely honest with our customers. We do not and have not EVER broken the windshields of cars and then tried to sell another windshield to them. I would not work with a company that did this. Please do not judge this company by what a few people are "claiming" that Coast to Coast Auto Glass is not reputable. I work hard at my job and I am an honest, non-pushy, and dedicated person who deserves to not be called a "scam". Thank you for your time. more

Reply to Coast to Coast "Scam" Claims 11/4/2010

I happen to work for Coast to Coast Auto Glass. The reason we are not "preferred" by the insurance companies is the fact we use Pilkington glass and original seals for the vehicle in all replacements. If you do your research instead of buying into the mob mentality you would see it's the same glass used in BMW and Mercedes. The "limitation" in our lifetime warranty is that as long as you own your vehicle our work is covered. You sell it, the warranty doesn't transfer to the buyer. As far as "pressuring" or whatever you claim we do to convince the owners to get replacements is the fact that windshield damage in the drivers line of sight can result in a fine in the state of Florida. We inform them that the choice is theirs and we will work with their choices. So before you go off spewing hearsay and talking about things you don't fully know about do your research. Stop trying to cause problems where there shouldn't be any. We are recognized by ALL insurance companies and work with them everyday. Their "preferred" auto glass company is Safelite because Safelite uses and aftermarket glass and seals which are thinner and more prone to leaking respectively. Also these aftermarket parts are more "cost effective" in other words they're cheaper and put more money in the insurance companies pockets. If you have full coverage or at least comp. then every time you make an insurance payment a percentage, usually $40-$50 of that payment goes to windshield damage. In 6 months you've already paid for your new windshield and the insurance companies don't want you to know this so they can double charge you for something you've already paid for. All we are is a service to the public, if the person with damage we offer an OOP (Out of Pocket) option which we have competitively priced with other glass companies. So once again before you jump on the bandwagon and grab your torches do your research so you don't look like an idiot. more

Coast2Coast SCAM Artists 6/30/2010

This company operates under "TeleKing". They are headquartered in Chandler, AZ. All of their glass shop numbers (AZ, FL,KY, MA, NY,SC) are routed to the same office in Chandler, AZ.... yea for T1. They have no real physical locations in any of those states in which they operate. All of their employees are"sub-contracted" illegally. To be an authorized sub-contractor you must be licensed in the state in which you do business. At least 90% of their work force gets paid commission of which none is taxed. As a former employee, I can assure you this is a bogus operation. Employees pose as policy holders of said insurance company in an attempt to authorize a glass claim illegally. Their sales force (the bulk of door to door) are usually housed in group home setting and shuttled from location to location generating sales and leads. Guerilla tactics are used to force the sales team to meet quotas. The limited lifetime warranty is BS. They claim to be better than the competition, but in actuality they are not. They seem to remain in business by controlling who works for them as to maintain a certain image while grooming their ideal team player. They will not do a chip repair for a first time customer unless that customer purchased a windshield from coast to coast. Their is no money in chip repair, which is why they stress the windshield replacement. Even if a replacement was done the company will stress another replacement be done unless the customer requests a warranty repair. Why are their phone sales so aggressive. For one their management team is computer illiterate (except for watching porn). They don't have the slightest idea on how to manage a call center effectively. The callers work up to 10hrs a day with minimal compensation and high expectation. The owners/managers actually think Scarface is real, and try to emulate a "mafioso" mind set. more

"setting the record straight" 6/30/2010

im sitting here reading these post of people/customers or persons that have recently used or heard of the way coast to coast is going door to door and there's two different complaints that need to be cleared! First i know that the door to door soliciting can become a problem! Second, every company in the autoglass industry has there problems with installations or customer service problems...i can assure u that if there's some type of warranty issue where if you're not satisfied, the problem will be handled to meet the customers satisfaction. As far as the way this company is getting there jobs, from what im reading...this company is a "go getter".The city i live in there must be fifty glass shops or more competeing for business! I bet there's gonna be alot of people mad about a company coming door to door on more than one occasion. I also believe that if you were satisfied as i was with the services of coast to coast that u probably thanked them for coming to you in your needs when its hard to find the time to go through the phonebook or internet lookin for a qualified technician. some of the comments ive heard like "why would you use a company that goes door to door rplace your windshield" now what does the installation of your windshield have to do with the way the job was sold??? I can't speak for everyone....but i can assure u that coast to coast autoglass is top notch in my autoglass needs! Oh yeah one more thing! How about the alarm system companies that go door to door??? Not bashing them at all..i think they have a marketing team that has the "go gettters" practicing the same maketing techniques that even the largest companies practice. Every autoglass company should be given a fair chance! The economy is/was at its lowest and i don't blame coast to coast autoglass because it's tuff out there! more

SCAM 6/28/2010

I am tired of these folks coming to my freaking door! We live in a non soliciting community and when I told him that he said oh we are canvassing. I have complained to this stupid company and they blame it on their "marketing firm". People you can get your glass done at a reputable shop rather than these scam artists. I have read where they break glass so they can replace it. Nothing better not happen to my vehicles. more

Coast to Coast is a SCAM 3/6/2010

I am hoping that this will be read by many people so this company can be exposed for what they really are.... SCAM ARTISTS. I process glass claims for several different insurance companies and deal with these conniving, scheming people every single day. This company will go door to door and hang around parking lots "inspecting" people's vehicles. They convince these people that they NEED to have their windshield replaced when there is just a small chip in it, especially with the insured's who reside in the glass waiver states (FL, KY, SC). They have called in fraudulent claims on several occasions for insured's who have previously had work done through them before, as they have all of their insurance information on file. The insurance companies refuse to make them a preferred provider shop as they are always changing their name to avoid legal disputes. The "warranty" that they offer is a joke. READ EVERY SINGLE WORD PLEASE! On their website under the FAQ's this question is posted: Q1. What kind of warranty does Coast to Coast offer? "At Coast to Coast we’ll settle for nothing less than your complete satisfaction. All of Coast to Coast’s installations are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, which meets or exceeds all competitors and insurance company warranties." There are no further details regarding the warranty located anywhere on their website and as an intelligent person, I know better than to use them for any of my glass replacements. I can guarantee that their "warranty" does not exceed or even MEET the insurance companies warranties. Insurance companies have contracts with their preferred providers and can GUARANTEE the quality of the work that is being completed on your vehicle, which is the very thing that you depend on to keep you safe while on the road. Beware of these shops and be smart. It's as simple as going to Google and typing in Coast to Coast Auto Glass and Google begins to "auto-fill" the search item for you with the words "Fraud" and "Scam". Please do your research first. more

Proper Auto Glass Installation during Windshield Replacement 9/22/2009

If you own a vehicle it is very important to know about proper auto glass installation during windshield replacement. Of course, you should always choose windshield repair if possible every time your car glass gets damaged. There are types of damage that can no longer be qualified for windshield repair, though. In such cases, you have no choice but to go for windshield replacement, either in the service shop or through mobile windshield replacement. Mobile windshield replacement has become popular because of convenience. In mobile windshield replacement, the service technician does the windshield replacement for your vehicle right where you are. Mobile windshield replacement also has its drawbacks, though. Mobile windshield replacement is more likely to be shoddy especially if not done by reputable professionals. This is not to say that substandard windshield replacement cannot be done in service shops. A vehicle owner should, therefore, know what to look out for in auto glass installation during windshield replacement. A reputable and professional service shop should offer original equipment manufactured car glass. This type of car glass features the same exact specifications as original dealer glass in thickness, color, durability, size and shape. An example of original equipment manufactured car glass is Pilkington. more

Choosing the Right Car Glass for Your Windshield Replacement 7/3/2009

Sometimes, windshield repair is no longer enough and you just have to go for total replacement. If you ever need to have windshield replacement or any other auto glass installation, you will have to choose from three types of car glass. There is dealer glass, original equipment manufactured (OEM) distributor glass and aftermarket glass. Dealer glass is the most expensive type of car glass. This is what you get from the authorized car dealership of your automobile brand. It is expensive because it is made by the exact same manufacturer that produced your vehicle’s original car glass and it usually bears the stamp of your car brand. Those who just need to have everything branded will not go for anything less than dealer glass. Original equipment manufactured distributor car glass means original equipment manufactured car glass. It is identical to dealer glass and has exactly the same specifications, including thickness, color, durability, size and shape. The only difference is that it is made by a different manufacturer. Manufacturers of original equipment manufactured car glass are contracted by the different car brands and are authorized to produce car glass to those exact specifications. Most are well-respected in the industry and their product is recognized as being of equal quality as dealer glass. Among the top OEM manufacturers are Pilkington, Pittsburg Plate Glass (PPG), Carlite, Ford, Safeguard/Mopar, Asahi, AP Tech, Triplex, Sekurit, Sicursiv, Scanex, Crinamex and Guardian. Keep the list as a handy reference for when you need to check your car glass choices against them. more
