Club Rio San Antonio

We checked out last night's launch of Play Thursdays to support some friends who were spinning and painting body art with intentions to buy a bottle. We were on the free list, but it was close to one, and the cover charge guy said the list closed at midnight and was condescending about it. Someone told him to only charge us half the cover, which was ok at best. We went straight to the bar and waited forever to get a drink while the bartender was dicking around and taking his own shots. My boyfriend asked him what was taking so long, and the bartender rudely replied, "You can't afford it or what?", told my boyfriend to go f**k himself, and, as we walked away from the bar, he threw ice at my boyfriend's face like a little girl. We went to the other bar across the room, but it was closed, a huge inconvenience considering the crowd size. We had not been there for more than 20 minutes and wanted to get our money back and leave, but the cover charge guy could only refer us to the owner. The owner offered us a free first round of drinks, but I definitely would have preffered our money (and our time, what a waste!) back. It was hot as hell in there, and I saw a bunch of girls that looked under 18. Give me a break. Shame on you, Club Rio! more

Last night (5-23-09), I went to Club Rio with my mom and her date around 1am. As we came in to settle to have a good time, fight burst out off nowhere. Suddenly, one of the guys that was in the fight grab a beer bottle and attempted to assault the guy he was fighting with in the head. He had miss as the glass bottle was thrown across the dance floor causing the glass to break and shatter to many directions. Several glass strike and cutt my legs and arms. I was terrified as the crowd started to run from the scene. After i notice that i was bleeding, my mom and I was asking for help from the employees and manager that work there. No one could provide me with the bare minimum of a bandaid to help stop the bleeding. I went to the restroom and clean my cutts. When i got out of the restroom, we ask the employees for the manager to let know what just had happened and that i was injured. As I waited for the manager, the employees did not seem to care and had completely ignore us. We waited for more than 25 minutes. The manager never showed up. They had left us with no security of our health. there was broken glass and fluids on the floor that could of easily made another incident. I understand incidents like this happen, however, I did not understand how this place neglect their customers in the worst manner . We decided to leave. I was in the enterance picking up my ID because i am only 19 yrs old. My mom had explain to A black employee that was at the enterance( he called himself Bobby) about my cutt. He did not show any common curtosy and did not offer a refund at that matter. In fact, He was very rude and did not manage himself professionally. He told my mom and I to go to the emergency room if i was deerly injured and that it was not his problem; making us feel discriminated and verbally abuse. This place is not the safest place. A riot can arise and Club Rio would not care about anyone. They are simple a buisness to their convience yet dirty and sick to the fullest. I dont recomened Club Rio to anyone and If you do decide to go , you are going on your on risk. Pros: nice music and atmosphere Cons: service here is the worst more
