Best

It is very amazing. The swimming lesson are great. Sadly my swimming instructor is gone.. but he is amazingly great. He really helped me a lot.

Worst

Speaking as a 15 year member, management is starting to panic now that many other more up to date and cheaper gyms have opened in the immediate area. The Club has the highest dues...

Stuck in the 80s 11/9/2013

Unorganized staff. Working folks - take a close look at the workout class schedule and note there are no classes between 6:30AM and 9AM with the exception of a 5:40 am class. Whatt!!! then look at whats available after work and note closely that the limited selection from 5-7pm. Show up on a weekday night and look inside one of these workout classess and see how jam packed it is. Not enough workout classes. Everyone's on teh same schedule crammed into the same class. No room to move in that class for fear of kicking the person next to you. Un-engaged teenage staff who don't have answers to anything. Ridiculous fees. SIgn your kid up as a member? - he can only join 2 classes with his membership. Ether pay for a third class, stick him in a room to play video games . Hmmm... I think I join a cheaper more modern gym and use the savings on my kids membership to pay for a sitter instead. more

Great locker rooms, very clean, great nursery 3/12/2013

The club is a bit outdated but compared to other clubs I've recently been to the conditions are very good and comfortable. The locker rooms have separate private changing cubicles with curtains which other clubs don't have, also a hot tub sauna and steam room which I found very clean, not a hair on anything and I am very particular about that. Also the showers have a little private entry which allows for more privacy and hanging of towels, clothes etc. which a lot of other clubs don't have. So what if it is a bit outdated but very clean and comfortable. The nursery is large and had a very nice child caregiver, my son is very active and she still managed to keep him happy and safe. I searched for a particular group class all over the area and visited at least 6 other clubs and found them to be less clean and comfortable and more expensive. The class I found here is outstanding and so is the instructor. more

waste of time 3/8/2013

I had my son here about a year ago. There are way too many students per instructor and majority of the time the students take turns. So if there are 6 kids in a class and they are taken one at a time each kid is getting about 5/6 minutes of instruction. I would highly recomend Into The Swim. My son currently goes here and yes its a bit pricy but there are only 2 kids in a class to one instructor. They also focuse on the ri ght way to swim and can you believe they do NOT use bubbles. My son has made more progress here in half a year than any other place. more

No price quotes over the phone = STUP!D 9/17/2012

I called the club to find out some prices and see if they have family packages. First, the people picking up the phone made me feel like Im bothering them. I asked for some pricing and before I can finish I was told, with an attitude, "we dont give out prices" and I asked "at all?" and she's like "well only if you want to come in" all with this attitude as if I should know better. I can tell from these reviews and the customer service level that I got, that all these bad reviews are true and the ones that say this gym is the best is most likely written by the owner or manager. It's a shame too because my entire family works out and a lot of people ask me where I work out so they can join and work out with me. My guess is that this place will close down in the near future just like the gym that was down the street from them. MUST BE THE SAME OWNER...lol.. more

Swimming classes toddler splash 3/4/2012

My daughter started with you & me class. In this class they allow parent inside pool along with kid. She loved that class. End of the classes instructor suggested toddler splash. We enrolled into that. I felt that this class is waste of money and time. It is 30 min class. Instructor will keep all the kids at the edge of the pool and 1 after 1 into pool. Depending on the no. Of kids they will get 5 to 6 min in the pool. Second thing is safety, one day my kid gone inside the water while the instructor teaching to other kid I din't suggest this class. Waste of money and time. more

Vile 1/6/2012

The owners are so selfish and are taking your money to pocket it. The whole place is so outdated and machines are filthy. They need a revamp go to another gym with nicer employees , newer equipment, and cheaper dues. All the people who have been going there for years are full of drama as well. Not a good gym more

Nursery 12/25/2011

Bad: Nursery two hour limit per day and one staff member in tyhe nursery who is rude, disrespectful and unkind to the children.. Improvements: increase the limit hours in the nursery. Other: Dislikes the way one staff member in the nursery speaks to the parents. It would be nice for the gym coordinators to answer the emails in a timely manner.. more

Stay Away! 11/3/2011

With the new state-of-the-art centers oepning up I cant see how this place stays in business - except for the $80+/- monthly membership fee they charge. The place really cant compete with the new centers like RWJ in Carteret or Scotch Plains. Not only are those places more modern they are very clean and care about their members well-being! The club threatens their staff with termination if they dare go teach at one of the newer facilities...which shows they are desperate adn threatened by the newer gyms - as they shoudl be! The club has dirty wet floors in the bathroons, the "womens workout area" smells, class studios are freezing, and their spin room is a refurbished racquetball court with no ventilation!! more

Needs updating! 7/18/2011

The club is outdated and needs a mjor refurbish to compete with the new clubs opening up around town. They charge $75 per month for cold yoga/pilates studios, classes that start late, pools/locker rooms filled with kids, and dirty bathrooms after the kids are done. Old machines, rusty spin bikes. You can walk into the locker room to find a baby being changed on the bench in the middle of the room!! more

Over priced, Over rated 1/19/2011

The Club at Woodbridge charges $55 dollars a month for... a basketball court? You can go to a newer, nicer gym for half that price with all of the same services. For example, WOW fitness is basically brand new. It has several classes, racquetball, steam room, more/newer equipment, a bigger facility, and more advanced equipment for $30 a month. The Club has not updated their equipment/furniture/look since the early 90s (seriously). It's an honest rip off. Do yourself a favor and seek your fitness elsewhere. more

Not too happy! 1/12/2011

I joined the Club mailnly because they offered free baby sititng there. But they all behave as if they are doing a favor on us. The staff at the kidssports are not friendly and complain about the kids all the time. And above all its way too expensive compared to other places. Nevertheless the classes and the instructors are good. more

ZUMBA....BOOTCAMP...PRESCHOOL! 4/20/2010

The Club at Woodbridge IS definately one of the best fitness centers in this area..no other fitness chain can compared to this facility. Everyone needs to come out and experience one of the best clubs in middlesex county. They always offer new classes...my kids love the swim programs. My son went to the preschool and enjoyed going...I definately would recommend this facility. They have spinning, bootcamp, zumba and TRX classes..They have a great basketball, tennis and racquetball courts. I will definately be here a few more years. more

Excellent Club 4/20/2010

I left The Club to join one of those chain gyms and nothing compares to what the Club at Woodbridge offers. When I decided to leave the chain and go back, it was extremely difficult. I had to wait 60 days in order to cancel. The staff at The Club at Woodbridge is much more cheerful and personable. It seems they enjoy their jobs. I am very happy to be home!! more

great club 3/30/2010

Great place to work out, very clean, lots to do, new programs added all the time. Feel very safe and comfortable there. Trainers are knowledgable and very helpful more

Past its Prime 10/25/2009

Speaking as a 15 year member, management is starting to panic now that many other more up to date and cheaper gyms have opened in the immediate area. The Club has the highest dues, yet the equipment is old and poorly maintained, the locker rooms are filthy, and the place is just run down. In a quest for revenue, management has started to offer programs for non-members that affect dues paying members in terms of equipment and class availability, pool closings (for private parties and lessons), and security issues. Trainers used to be certified, in an effort to trim costs, they now advertise at Rutgers with ads stating "No experience necessary". The owners suffer from believing their own brochures rather than taking an objective look at this place versus other new gyms in Woodbridge and Edison. Its a shame - it was once the best, but those days are long over. more

Awesome hangout place for winter 8/7/2005

My husband loves coming here during the winter because he could still do a lot of his sports indoors. He always come here for basketball with his friends. The place is not that new and could use some renovating but it's still fun to come here anyway. A lot of activities to choose from for both kids and adults. more
