Heartbroken that it is closed... 3/11/2008

Well, it was the Best damn after hours club in Houston. I cannot believe it is closed. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT WILL REOPEN? WHERE IS THE NEXT BEST AFTER HOURS CLUB NOW? WHERE IS DeGrace SPINNING????? PLEASE RESPOND!!!! Kimberley Pros: Music and people Cons: none more

Unfortunatly its closed 2/18/2008

This was the nicest after hours club in houston on a sat night w/ the best DJ DeGrace who is the only DJ that can spin w/ smooth transitions and ultra current music. Other clubs uses too much pop or rap that encourages thugs. Too bad this place is closed. Pros: Best DJ hands Down in Town DeGrace , Soundsystem more

Anyways, It's a good place to go after your Club/Bar is closed, Really chill, Theres couches and places to sit which was really cool!! Good music if your into Drum and Bass or Jungle (Techno). But theres lots of.. How do I say this.. Um, Theres druggies and drunk people on Friday. I've only been on fridays and there wasnt many people both times I went. WHERE YOU CAN BE YOURSELF! 10/27/2007

So after a long night at the normal bars, I got my second wind and decided to travel over to Club 1415 or Habitat. I was so just wanting to dance and release for a bit and that is exactly what I got to do! I have never had so much fun just dancing with other people then I did at that moment! The staff is amazingly funny and they make sure that all their clients are taken care of! The light shows that go on are amazing and they really capture you by hitting on cue to the beat of the music. Their Djs are the best djs in H-TOWN! !!!! They keep you on the dance floor with every song they play! You don't want to stop your feet.......IT IS THAT GOOD! And for the smokers, they have a huge patio for you! Don't worry when you step outside you won't miss the music because they have outside speakers . So all in all, if you want to feel the beat in your feet and be who you want to be then this is the perfect after hours spot for you! If you have a stick up your butt and can't admit that you love the beat.......then you have no clue what your missing out on! Only the beat will save you! Pros: awesome staff, light show, and the music Cons: none more

junkies galore 10/20/2007

All afterhour clubs have druggies, and dealers at every corner preying on each new generation's lost youth with inflated cover charges, but this club wraps it self in a well lit exterior to give the impression that it's a clean place when it's just another place with people down in the gutter. I only went there because of a friend's constant nagging that "no, it's not what you think, this is so different". It's not different. Even on the sidewalk you see cross eyed early 20 year olds who are so high they can't even walk straight. I also saw the same trash doing business that I have seen at many other afterhours clubs back in the day except they're in their 30's and 40's now and this is all they have going for them. The music is the same techno dabble that's been around since 1996. Come on DJ Degrace, what the hel happened man? You used to be so cutting edge, but now a kid with an iPod has better tunes than you. Bottom line, if you're down in the gutter and want to be around others who would go home with you for a dime bag, then go for it man this is the place for you. Nobody is going to judge your empty life there because everybody is on something there. If you're already rolling like it's 1998 and need to listen to mindless background noise in the backgorund to comfort your soul, then go there. If you're some left over loser from the Rave movement who hasn't grown up, hasn't got a job, has STD's and is looking to find other losers, this is for you. If you're in your late 20's or early 30's, have a real job, have responsibilities, don't wake up next to some stranger every morning, and want to have a good time, find some other place. This is not the place for you. If you must club, try midtown. Or hell, you've got a house, throw a party and invite good people over. leave the trash in the trash bin. Pros: keeps all the trash in one place Cons: it's not far enough away from the city more

Great Afterhours Club 5/12/2007

1415 has one of the best sound systems for a club in Houston and if you go on Saturday night the party goes on till the sun comes up with that house music always keeps the dance floor moving. The dance floor is very inviting and it is a nice club with a very mixed crowd. But if staying up past 3am isn't your thing then you might not want to show up. The club usually fills up at 3ish. Also beware of guys who dress like girls and vice versa. This place is where the people who like to dance go if the want to keep the party going, no alcohol past 2 but the music plays till 7 or 8 am. Pros: fun afterhours club, spacious dance floor and porch, active dance floor, good sound system Cons: expect a cover charge, staying up too late, sore quads the next day more

There are very few places you can set and have live entertainment. I enjoy haveing a relaxing evening with good food, friends, and music. I have been to 1415 several times. I enjoy Bryan Anthony's music and have broke my mother to see the Over the Hill Gang, which she totally loved. I would suggest you try it out. Pros: Plenty of parking, Patio, Causual Atmosphere more

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW 11/10/2002

NEW NAME, NEW MANAGEMENT, SOME OF THE OLD RECIPES AND SOME NEW ONES, AND BETTER PRICING. 1415 BAR & GRILLE IS OPEN FOR LUNCH AND DINNER 7 DAYS A WEEK. JUST TRIED THE SHRIMP SALAD MADE WITH FRESH SPINACH, REALLY GOOD. STILL GOT THE CRAB CAKES, AND THE PORK SHANKS, WHICH NO OTHER RESTAURANT CAN TOUCH FOR TASTE AND PORTION SIZE. HAVE BEEN THERE MANY TIMES SINCE THEY REOPENED, AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED IN ANYTHING WE HAVE TRIED. EXCELLENT FOOD, AND ATTENTIVE SERVICE, TRY IT. Pros: GREAT CITY VIEW, CLEAN & ROOMY, GOOD VALUE more

A restaurant for the gods!!! 10/5/2002

There are no words that can adequately describe the exceptional service we received at this restaurant. In an effort to plan a large dinner party for a friend's birthday, I researched various restaurants and stumbled upon 1415 Bar and Grill (formerly called Sonoma). I was able to talk to the manager who was more than willing to accommodate our party. The people at 1415 went beyond the call of duty by personalizing our prix fixe menu by wishing our honoree a "happy birthday". They even had our table decorated with balloons. Not only was the service exceptional, but the food was delicious as well. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is interested in fine dining and an excellent wait staff. more

How Romantic! 8/6/2002

Great food, wonderful entertainment, excellent drinks, romantic atmosphere ... what more can I say? Go and you will be hooked. My husband and I went and we will go back! more

"Don't miss this place!" 8/2/2002

Well what can I say, we had an absolutely wonderful time when I took my fiance to Sonoma to meet family and friends for her birthday. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet friendly and the food melted in our mouths. We had garlic shrimp and crabcakes for appetizers. They seemed to compliment the excellent wine and martinis nicely. For our main course we had the filet mignon, my sister claimed it was as good as Morton's for about half the price. This is the place to go after a long work week if you want to listen to great jazz and laugh with friends. They will even sing you Happy Birthday! Way to go Sonoma, all smiles here :) . Pros: atmosphere, live jazz, great food Cons: none more

Fall in love... 7/19/2002

Unique, unbelievable, entertaining... All of these words describe my experience at Sonoma! If you haven't been, try their brunch and you'll be hooked! To die for bread pudding! Great entertainment on Mondays! Loved this place! more

ALL IS HERE 7/7/2002

Sonoma is back. We often went to the old place until it became "not so Friendly". Now this is the most pleasant place in town. REAL CLASS w/ a super friendly staff. Neil Markert leads the way for the industry in Houston-food atmosphere,service-got it all under his guise. TOPS. Pros: all good Cons: no bad more

WE FOUND IT 6/21/2002

Sonoma is back with a flare.Food,tops-service,very good-atmosphere/view,out of sight. Don't miss it and there is great music. Pros: all good Cons: not one more

glad it's back! 6/15/2002

I just recently found out Sonoma reopened again. I took my partner for his birthday this past Saturday-- he'd never been. We had planned to stay for dinner then go to the theatre downstairs. We ended up canceling our theatre reservations and stayed for four hours! The food and service are still top notch. --and the music... man, the music was awesome. The food is reasonably priced, just be careful because the drinks (and drink prices) can catch up on you! On the downside, the artwork (sorry) is not fitting to this cool, swanky place. It's a little too 60's. I say, bring back those "tasteful" nudes. Also, we got there while the sun was still up. The blinds were open, making for a less than intimate experience. However, when the sun went down, it was close to perfect. I can't wait for the T-Dances to start back up! Pros: Music, Food, Inexpensive Cons: too much light, mismatched art work more

A BIG 10+ 6/11/2002

This is our favorite place to graze, drink and listen to really good music. We try to go here every week and guess what- the crabcakes are back-probably the best anywhere. By the way this place is clean and fresh. After all it's new-carpet, bathrooms(they smell fresh) and a grand staff. The person who wrote the review saying not true must have gone to the wrong place. Thanks Sonoma-we need you. Pros: price, entertainment, romantic with a view Cons: none more
