Clovis is a great independent book store. Featuring a good selection of used books, and titles from independent presses. They also buy books, but call to find out exactly when/how to do this, cause mishaps sometimes occur. Their selection of alternative periodicals is also an excellent neighborhood resource. Pros: Good selection Cons: Sketchy organization more

Yeah for Pretentious Hipsters 9/4/2005

If you love books, particularly hard-to-find, obscure books, this is your store. I personally don't have the time to get into zines and underground writers. They carry some interesting items that would make good gifts, though. In my experience, the staff isn't very friendly or helpful, and the used books are VERY overpriced. I would really only recommend this bookstore if you have a significant amount of disposable income, or you are very into the underground writing scene. more

Clovis: Great Indy Book Store 8/5/2005

If you are looking for a great independent book store, then this is the place. It features a wide selection of used books and titles from independent presses, including alternative periodicals. They also buy used books. The only weird thing is the organization of books. It's sometimes hard to find something specific. But, the staff is really helpful and can usually find what you're looking for if you can't do it yourself. It's a great place to just stop by and take a browse. You will find many surprising and interesting texts here that you wouldn't normally see in the bigger bookstores. more
