PIZZA IS GREAT WAIT STAFF IS SOMETHING ELSE 6/28/2011

DON'T LIVE ON THE LEFT COAST ANYMORE. BUT WHEN I DID MY FIRST EXPEIRIANCE WITH THEIR PIZZA WAS BACK IN 1967 WHEN I WORKED AT SKI HUT HONDA ON HIGHLAND HILL. SINCE I HAVE RELOCATED TO THE OTHER COAST ANYTIME I VISIT TACOMA I ALWAYS MAKE IT A POINT TO STOP IN AT THE CLOVERLEAF FOR A PIZZA WITH THE WORKS AND A SECOND STOP AT FRISCO FREEZE . THESE ARE THE TWO GREASE SPOTS WORTH THE TRIP. I ALSO AGREE RE: THE STAFF BEING RUDE AT TIMES, BUT I WENT THERE FOR A PIZZA , NOT TO SOCIALIZE WITH THE STAFF. HOPE I HAVE A REASON TO VISIT AGAIN SO I CAN STOP FOR A PIZZA . more

Great pizza cold drinks 6/1/2011

Been going for years.Best Pizza around , yes service sucks at times but handle it or don't go. Leafs pizza always take a long time. Ask for popcorn, sit back and enjoy yourself. The side salads are good and always ask for light on the sauce makes the pizza easier on the indigestion. In a hurry order the pizza before you get there-- have done it many times. Leaf is on my speed dial. Not for everybody just remember its a tavern first.Cold beer and Great Pizza more

Staff is RUDE!!! 6/5/2010

A friend of mine went there a few days ago. The bar wasn't full. It was probably about 1/4 full. What I found interesting was that while my friend and I were sitting close to the bar, and in clear view of the bar tender (girl), we had to flag her down every time we needed her attention. And there was a guy that came later and he was ruder than she was. This must be a new business model, to be rude to customers. Just like Migalito, I wouldn't go there with someone again if i was trying to impress someone with tacoma. Pros: Pizza is ok Cons: Staff was rude and service was slow more

Employees 5/28/2010

I must say, the pizza is the only reason to go. Every time I've been there, the wait is terrible and the employees in the tavern are rude. I read the owners plea for referring the leaf to friends and neighbors, but I won't take any one here I want to impress with Tacoma. The server with the side burns is always rude and seems to have a bad attitude, and the girl with the long dark hair must live with him, she's the same way! Maybe they should at leas try and act like they appreciate the customers. They must be related to the owner. I would have fired them a long time ago.The only way I'll patronize this place again will be for take out, and maybe not even that! Pros: good pizza Cons: the staff suck more

Hello loyal Cloverleaf patrons!! I would like to thank you all for being loyal customers over the years. Service is terrible! 1/2/2010

Maybe this is one of the establishments that chooses their customers. I read here on citysearch about how great the pizza is and what not. I took some guests there from out of town and the wait staff were unacceptably rude. Seriously folks, it may be a Tavern, but do they have to be rude? They made us wait for over an hour for our food, we had maybe 2 beers within that hour and the wait staff were ignoring us while we were trying to order. If for some hail mary reason I end up going to this establishment again, i'm bringin in a box of Pappa John's and a six pack. They can take their time and be rude as much as they'd like, because when I sign for the bill, they're getting a -$20 for their tip. Pros: Pizza tastes alright, not the best though Cons: These guys need to brush up on their customer service more

Worst place I could think of 11/29/2009

The only good thing about this place is the pizza but after the way the people treated me and my family, I would rather go to pizza hut. I read a few reviews and I had heard about this place and their pizza. Don't get me wrong, their pizza was ok, but after waiting a long time for our food and drinks, and with the way they treated us being so utterly rude, I would rather go somewhere else. It's not like they were busy either, we were the third table there. I hope the owners get their acts together, because i'm definitely telling my friends about how bad this place is. Pros: Pizza is ok Cons: Customer service is horrible more

Home 11/18/2009

I have been going to the Cloverleaf for 30 years and the only time that service was slower than usual is when the place was swamped with customers. The staff has always been friendly have taken care of us even when we occasionally got weird. I would highly recommend stopping by and sampling the menu. Pros: Great pizza, great service. Cons: None more

Don't go there unless you're desperate 10/25/2009

These guys do not know how to serve. In this economy, you would think that you would try to keep your business, but the owner and her servers were absolutely horrible! We waited an hour for our pizza, our beers took twice as long, when I went to ask about our food and drinks, the lady behind the bar kept ignoring me. I brought this to the attention of the owner and she didn't care, she said not to come back then. Pros: Good pizza Cons: worst customer service more

Best Pizza Best Pizza Best Pizza In The State 6/24/2009

Cloverleaf pizza is and has always been the best pizza around. For the young critics unfamiliar with pizza not cooked on a conveyor belt, the cloverleaf is one of only a few remaining establishments that actually cooks pizza in a pizza oven, therefore it does take from 35 to 45 minutes. If you want fast pizza, go to Domino's. Try the sausage, its real sausage not pre-cooked like 99% of fast food pizza... make that 100%. Everyone I have ever gone to the cloverleaf with that was their first time, loved the pizza. more
