Bizarre Experience 12/1/2011

I met with Jack from Closettec several times. We worked up some designs on several projects in our home. The total price would have come to near $10,000. He drafted a proposal. I politely proposed a marginal counteroffer. His response was that he "doesn't do business" this way and I should go elsewhere. This was the first time in my 45 years of life anyone has turned me away or otherwaise responded to me this offensively. I did. Went to Jacob's Woodcraft in Port Washington. Great guy, fabulous woodworker. He and his partner, Pablo, did magnificent custom work. So good, we had him do 3 or 4 additional projects. Always showed up on time, and was always one step ahead of us. So glad Jack was as unprofessional as he was. more
