Great visit 10/10/2018

My daughter is visiting from Texas and took my one year old grandson in for his first dental checkup. Lovely office and the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Dr. Mauney and his dental hygienist Lisa did an age appropriate oral exam on my grandson and went over infant and toddler hygiene with my daughter. We were very impressed with the kind and thorough treatment he received! Highly recommend this practice. more

Been very happy for 12 years 5/26/2010

I really don't understand the bad reviews. My two children (now 13 and 15) have been seeing Drs. Mauney and Clifton since they were 3 and we have never had anything but good experiences. I would recommend both of them with no hesitation. more

mauney not good 12/27/2009

I agree with the person who said he was only concerned about the money he was getting from you. We went to him for about 2 years, but never felt like he cared. Last time in there, he was having a sound system put in and he did not even pay attention to my son, just was concerned about the installation of his sound system. I would highly recommend going to CH Pediatric Dentistry instead. more

Love it!!! 6/3/2008

I have two small children and have always loved this practice. Dr. Mauney has done a filling on my 5 year old son and he was both considerate and understanding. I have always loved the care my family has received in this practice and feel that it is quite evident that both Dr. Mauney, Dr. Clifton and their staff love their patients and want what is best for them. more

Don't go here!!! 2/6/2008

I really cannot even explain how horrible our experience was here. Dr. Mauney wanted to strap my 2 year old son into a papoose to fill his cavity. He said it would be dangerous to him and his staff if he didn't! I asked why they couldn't use laughing gas if necessary, and he said that kids learning to tolerate pain was a "maturing experience" and good for their development! I refused. He struck me as someone who didn't care for his patients at all, just wanting to strap them in, crank through the work, and take home the big bucks. Needless to say, I refused to let him treat my son and found a much nicer practice in Durham! I would not risk sending a child here and I plan to report him. more

Comfortable, nice pediatric dentist 7/31/2005

This dentist and her partner are located in Timberlyne plaza- not very good signage so a little difficult to find if you don't know that area. The office is very comfortable and we didn't wait long, but the waiting area is stocked with some nice distractions- toys and books. My daughter felt very reassured and comfortable there. Obviously being a pediatric practice, they have tons of experience with kids and making them feel comfortable. I recommend these dentists to all my friends. The only thing that is a bummer is that they don't file with your insurance- you are responsible for that. more

wonderful! 6/30/2005

I have been taking my children to this Chapel Hill dentist's office for years, and have been nothing bu t pleased. The staff is professional and friendly. I never have to wait long to be seen and I am never rushed. The office is nicely decorated and there are plenty of toys and books for children to entertain themselves with as they wait. My children look forward to having their teeth cleaned. An added bonus are the trinkets they get to take home after their visits. High five to Drs. Mauney, Clifton and their fantastic staff! more
