Not So Nice AFTER 3/11/2013

The people who have written negative reviews about the LACK of service and friendliness after the sale are 100% correct. I purchased a pair of expensive frameless glasses from them, plus had them replace the lenses for me in a pair of expensive designer sunglasses I purchased elsewhere. The initial transaction was great (the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1). A short while after wearing the frameless glasses, one of the lenses became scratched (the scratch was obvious). I returned to Clear Sight and was not only met with a sarcastic attitude, but they refused to repair the lens unless I agreed to an eye exam. I have my own eye doctor where I live, but I agreed to it only because I need my glasses to see and wanted it fixed. The eye doctor told me I had high eye pressure (yeah, I know, I've had that condition since I was a teenager and my regular eye doctor screens me and monitors the situation). But, THIS doctor made a not-so-veiled threat that he might report me to the state of more

Clearsight Optical was also very highly recommended to me by five different people, all of whom have spent a great deal of money there over the years and I was very happy to go there and find such a huge selection of beautiful frames. I finally narrowed it down to one frame that I fell madly in love with. The young lady who was waiting on me was wonderful. Unfortunatley, the number of times I had to go back there immediately after getting the glasses to have the glasses fitted properly, she was not in. I had a gentleman who was rather sarcastic and not helpful. ONE of my problems was there was a scratch on the brand new lenses that apparently I was the only one who could see it. At any rate, after three trips back there, no one was interested in making me a happy customer. The owner was aware of the situation as well, and could have cared less. So sadly I did not get my frames I had fallen for, and more sadly for Clearsight Opticals, my five people who had recommended that I g more

Clearsight- a "short sighted" optician 8/18/2010

Pathetic, misinformed service. Avoid at all costs. Purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses based on Clearsight misinformation (as documented by direct conversation with manufacturer) and still trying to return them. May require credit card/ manufacturer input to effect refund. After sale, Clearsight all but disappears. more

Clearsight Opticians - Reply 5/19/2010

Clearsight Opticians has been in the same Fort Lauderdale location for over 30 years. We pride ourselves in our great selection, prices, and most of all service. We made several attempts to satisfy this individual but obviously this was not enough in her mind. Her claim that scratches on her lenses were only visible at 3:00pm is unreasonable, to put it mildly (EST)\r \r Ultimately we issued her a refund, which is the only solution that she was seeking to satisfy the both of us. more

Poor service after the sale 5/11/2010

I have been a customer of Clearsight for about five years now. I have spent well over two thousand dollars there on prescription glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. For a long time, I had nothing but good to say about Clearsight. The optometrist there is very good, and my prescriptions have been great. I had been quite happy with the service there until my last two experiences, both very disappointing and both with the same individual who happens to be the manager. First, I brought back a pair of expensive glasses because they had developed a small crack around the frame. They replaced the lens without a problem. Less then a month later, the new lens started to develop a crack in the same place. I brought them in again and was told they wouldn't replace them because they weren't under warranty. I explained that since the lens was less then a month old, it was obviously faulty. They gave me a very hard time about it, but eventually replaced the lens. The new lens then cracked shortl more

Poor post-sale service 5/10/2010

The new lens then cracked shortly thereafter and I did not bother to go back because of the hassle I received the second time. Since then, I bought another pair of glasses there, a bad choice in hindsight. After wearing the glasses for a little while, I noticed a faint target-shaped pattern of tiny scratches on both lenses. The pattern is very uniform, and looks like it was caused by some type of machine or clamp used when shaping the lenses. You wouldn't notice it except that the scratch pattern creates a starburst effect in the right sunlight (around 3 pm each day). Rather than not wear them at 3 pm each day, I brought the glasses in and asked if they could call the manufacturer and find out what caused the scratches, and hopefully have the lenses fixed. It was a cloudy day and you couldn't really see the scratches without sunlight. The individual refused to call the manufacturer because he couldn't see the scratches, and didn't want to discuss it with the manufacturer unless he could see and describe the problem. He told me to come back on a sunny day. It was like he was trying to make it just difficult enough for me that I would drop it and just ignore the imperfection. When I asked him again to call the manufacturer and communicate what I had described to him, he steadfastly refused. He was about as unhelpful as he could have been. Needless to say I will not be going back. I was happy to pay their inflated prices in order to have service after the sale, but these two experiences have been very disappointing. My experience with everyone else there has always been positive, but given that the manager can't be bothered with providing anything resembling satisfactory service, I will advise anyone who asks to go somewhere else. Cons: High price, poor service more

My family and I 1/27/2010

My family and I have been purchasing all our glasses from Clearsight Opticians for many years. They were always very helpful until I bought a pair of expensive prescription sunglasses about 13 months ago. The glasses cost $418 for the frames and lenses. The original bi-focal lenses didn't work for me so I paid another $100 for new lenses (a total of $518). A few months later the finish on the frames started coming off. I returned to Clearsight and they returned the glasses to the manufacturer who replaced the frames for free. I was told to wash the glasses every time I wore them. The 2nd pair did the same thing. I returned to Clearsight again & they offered me a 3rd pair of the same glasses. I said I'd prefer something different. I didn't want the same problem 3 times. This is when their attitude became less than satisfactory. The manufacturer agreed to replace the frames for any of their other products, but Clearsight refused to provide new lenses for the new frames for free. I'd hav more
