Completely disrespectful!!! 10/28/2015

so my payments weren't going through and I received a call about it after TWO payments had been returned. This whole time they were sending me paper bills like everything was fine. Someone finally called me to get it situated and I found out they charged my card two different $20 fees because of it. They told me they returned the first one because they didn't call but the second one I was responsible for because they tried calling and number was disconnected. When I explained to her that the cell number she tried calling my fiancés who passed away from cancer in January and that I had already told them 2 times that wasn't my number. Then she (HER NAME IS KELLY) yells "ohhhh myyy gooddd really?" She was rude and condescending and when I asked her why she was talking to me like that.. her exact words were, "I'm trying really hard to be nice." It wasn't what she said, it was how she said it and if I had the option I would have cancelled my service that moment. I have never had to tell someone that my fiancé passed away and them act so nasty and rude and down right cruel about it. I would give them no starts if I could. more

'cleansweeps' 12/13/2012

This company is so unprofessional, they scam you for money, they piss in your bushes, and if your trash cans aren't 3 feet apart they throw a fit. We have disputed so many wrongful charges with this company and lost. Lastly the drivers are horrible. I miss WM picking up our trash, I hope cleansweeps goes out of business. more

Horrible 5/10/2012

This company is awful. They constantly leave my can half full. Shoreline did a horrible job switching to this company.Despite numerous calls to the company, little has changed in the way of my garbage actually being emptied all the way. If they were not the only game in town, I'd switch in a minute. Thanks city council...wonderful choice. more

Careless 9/23/2011

Cleanscapes drivers are the worst, forgetful, careless and maybe even stupid, they should be more careful, waste management is way better, just goes to show, you get what you pay for and less. more

Fine Service 5/25/2011

Making a mess of Seattle 5/15/2011

I followed a Cleanscapes garbage truck for about a mile down Boren, Denny, until it turned down Westlake. Saturday noon, May 14 License number B41599K--trash was falling out of the back, littering the city streets--including entire bags of garbage falling out, unheeded by the driver. I pulled alongside it at Westlake to get the license number on front (the one on back was unreadable) and the driver must have known what I was up to because he crept forward as I did. What a joke. Clean Scapes indeed. more

Best Service and Customer Education 5/9/2011

Cleanscapes is a ground breaking company, they're not managing waste, they're trying to help folks eliminate waste. It's a whole new approach to service, think about it... How would it benefit any company to try to educate it's users to use less of their services? Cleanscapes can see the big picture, that is, good environmental stewardship and customer education is actually good business. Cleanscapes is excellent, and highly recommended. more

Great Outreach in our Community 5/9/2011

I was living in Shoreline when the city managers switched over to Cleanscapes. I must say that they did an exceptional job of getting me to think a little more about my garbage. Not something that I normally consider.... They sent many mailings and flyers and such to help me better understand my new service. I also think they did a good job helping me be a better recycler / composter / and helping me reduce my solid waste impact. Go CleanScapes! more

Terrible 8/25/2010

worst service ever. I have had nothing but problems they do not want to pick my trash up by my curb, miss pick ups all the time they move my cans down the street because they are lazy. I never had 1 problem with waste management in Shoreline way to go city council I don't think you could have picked a worst company more

Cleanscape - The Garbage 5/14/2010

Good: Nothing. Bad: Everything. Improvements: I don't think they are willing to listen to us anyways.. Other: The worst garbage company ever. I wish I never had to deal with this company. The worst - they have a monopoly in Seattle. This is wrong. Totally wrong. They screwed me up with more than $100 and all my city complaints or to the CEO is in vain and no one cares. They do indeed treat everyone worse than the garbage. Both the city of Seattle and Cleanscapes sucks. My last of day of business in Seattle. Will never ever have or do a business in Seattle.. more

Cheapscapes Cleanscapes 1/14/2010

When Cleanscapes took over, we got smaller cans if Shoreline, which was fine by me, as I live alone. I called and ordered the mini can, which is more than ample. Then out of the blue, when they swapped out my recycle bin, I suddenly had a deeper garbage can. I never ordered any change in my garbage service. When my bill came a few months later, they had billed me for the big can, so I phoned and they told me they would give the mini can back and credit me the $17 bucks they had overcharged me, and to short pay my bill. Last week, I got a collection threatening letter for the $16.80 "past due" amount that they TOLD me to deduct!! Then I had to phone 3 times, and finally reached a supervior who could adjust my account. I didn't appreciate any of the hassles or the letter! Bad customer service all the way around. more

Cleanscapes overbilled us almost a year 9/9/2009

When Cleanscapes took over Wastemanagement they delivered a smaller can than we had previously but continued to bill us the higher charge for ALMOST A YEAR!!! I don't go out and check the numbers on my silly trash can so didn't catch it for awhile. When I called them they promised to give us a credit for the overage and deliver a new larger can. New can arrived but NO CREDITS!!! Then, when I called to ask where my credits were they totally lied about saying they would give me credits and only offered 2 months of credits plus offered to cut off my service if I didn't pay my bill in full. I don't f()@king think so!! I had to talk to the VP because the head of customer service is an a$$hole and I am still waiting for my credits. Of course, I won't pay my bill either until I get them. I would rather take the trash to the dump. The garbage truck is NEVER consistent on what time it will pick up and the guys running the truck are total slobs and dump trash in our driveway almost weekly. WASTEMANAGEMENT COME BACK!!! more

Bring Back Waste Management 8/12/2009

I am not a fan of Cleanscapes. I work for a church that, like the rest of Shoreline, used to be serviced by Waste Management. Our garbage load really varied, and with WM we enjoyed the ability to call for a pickup when necessary. With Cleanscapes, garbage HAS to be picked up weekly - we are just supposed to alter the size of our receptacle to fit our needs. Oh yeah, and recycling service is "free" (read: included in the garbage service fee). OK, not a huge deal. Now, due to financial difficulties we have been on credit hold for the past 3 months or so. However, Cleanscapes has continued to charge us for service...even though we aren't receiving any. The response I got was "We are still obligated to collect payment as per our contract with the city of Shoreline. I believe their thinking is that because you still have our carts and the account is still open we should still receive payment." This is not just poor business practice, it is criminal. more

Downtown needs to organize 6/16/2009

So for the last 9 years I have been working downtown and we have NEVER had a problem with our garbage/recycling, until cleanscapes came in. We now have to pay double(yes double!! Almost exactly!) then what we did before cleanscapes came along. Also complaints are unheard although we contact them via email andn telephone about illegal dumping. They charge for their bags, pick-up, and ridiculously charge for even unlocking the freakin dumpster!!! I believe that downtown needs to organize and talk to the mayor about this issue!!! It is driving business out of downtown!! People are having a hard enough time looking for a job and business' can't hire if there garbage/recycling bill is more than their revenue!! The idea that it will help the environment is good, but the mayor should have thought it through before throwing us in the river without a paddle! more

If you think 1:45am is bad....think again 6/10/2009

For the last 4 weeks in a row, CleanScapes trucks have trundled through our alley-way at 3:45am (on the dot) and pounded/slammed dumpsters. This is the alley that services four buildings; the Westminster, the T.V. Dean Building, the M-Street Apartments, and the Vito's building. 3:45 AM. We've made several complaints to the company and they've said it would never happen again. Well, after what sounded like World War III about an hour ago, I'm up for good and its obvious they did not take any complaint seriously. Yay. more

1:15AM is NOT an Appropriate Time to be Moving a Dumpster!! 5/5/2009

Last night at 1:15am Cleanscapes had a truck taking our old dumpster and replacing it with a different one. We live in a multifamily building and the noise that this created definitely woke many folks up in our building and the surrounding residences. We live in a CLEARLY residential neighborhood. There is NO reason that Cleanscapes needed to be doing this at an ungodly hour of the night when everyone is asleep. Not to mention we didn't order a new dumpster, our condo had one that worked just fine. This is NOT the first time Cleanscapes has visited our residential neighborhood at night. Last week they were noisily picking up garbage/recycling at between 10-10:30PM. AGAIN, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS DURING NIGHT HOURS!!!?? We never had this problem with the last garbage company, Allied Waste, who had the city of Seattle's contract before Cleanscapes. more

Comment from CleanScapes 2/13/2009

Noticed Cathy S' comment. Wish she'd e-mail me at chrism@cleanscapes.com - I'm the company President and would be happy to address her concerns. more

Worst Dumpster Free Garbage Collection Service 11/15/2008

The City of Seattle is moving to dumpster free collection in most of the downtown area....and Cleanscapes is the only company offering this service. While I think dumpster free is a great way to go, we need a company that can actually provide the service and Cleanscapes cannot. Every time we put our waste in the alley we've had to call because the next morning it still has not been picked up. The flimsy plastic bags they provide are ripped open by the crows and garbage is strewned all over the alley. more
